We'd stayed here before. The bathhouse was new then. They did a nice enough job building it but now that it's been a couple years you can tell they need to understand constant maintenance. The showers have paint peeling in the dressing area and it's gross. You also have to chose which shower stall carefully because some shower curtains have mold at the bottom. And don't get me started on the light timer. For goodness sakes they have the bathroom light on a timer --- 1 minute. 20 seconds. You need to bring a flashlight with you to go to the bathroom. So frustrating!

Otherwise, the sites are a little close together. It's fine if you plan on being gone most of the day.

We chose Beantown Campground for a last-minute trip to door County. It had one of the few sites that was available. On reserving a site on their website a site number was not assigned and it was noted that the site could change and would be assigned upon arrival. .When we arrive near sundown it was no one in the office and a man in what appears to be a residence noticed I was walking around outside granted something at me through the window and came down to escort us to our site in a golf cart. Upon arriving at our site or what we thought was our site there was another RV park there already and we followed him yet again in his golf cart to another site that was open. This turned out to be the site that the person occupying our site was to go to. We returned to our site
and waited about a half hour for the occupant to pack up and pull out. By then it was very dark out and made for a challenging time backing into the site and getting connected.

Simply based on the amount of RVs coming and going there seems to be mostly occupied by seasonal campers rather than vacationers. Relocation is good, the roads are well-kept, mixed asphalt and gravel. One asking staff for any literature about activities especially for children we were told they had none. Activities or literature about the campground. It was clean and quiet but with nothing to entertain our son, it necessitated daily road trips around door County to find something to do.

Please park may be just fine if you're a couple simply looking to park your RV in a quiet place if you have children And are expecting children's activities other than a swimming pool, it's a set up for disappointment. The Wi-Fi signal was strong however the Internet connection was glacially slow when it worked.

We have a 35 foot fifth wheel. We had a full hook up and pull in site which was nice. The actual campsite was overgrown and had low tree branches hanging over the site where we set up our chairs, grill, etc. It made it hard to maneuver around. It was close to all the villages in Door county which made it easy for seeing the sights. I only gave it a 3 star due to the conditions of our campsite.

This campground is clean and wonderful. The showers/bathroom are new and nice. The pool is in great condition and well kept. Teresa is so helpful, kind and accommodating. Dorian and Sylvia are really friendly as well. People in the campground are nice and social. We are leaving tomorrow and have been totally happy with our stay. Thank you Beantown!

This review is specifically for Beantown Campground in Baileys Harbor, Door County, WI.

he campground has a 4 night 5th night free deal. When I made the reservation online I made it for four nights. The campground operator called me to confirm the reservation, and I changed it to 5 nights to get the 5th night free and we extended our vacation to 6 days/5 nights. When we showed up, we only had 4 nights reserved, and our cabin was unavailable for the 5th night. The employee there put us in a different cabin for the 5th night, and charged us for our stay. The owner came into the office and learned what was going on, and told us the cabin we were switched to (for the 5th night) was possibly unavailable because he was waiting on a call back from someone who "may" rent it. Rather than honor his "5th night free" deal he opted to wait and see if he could get an extra $98 out of someone. When I attempted to get a refund, he refused (despite the fact that we weren't getting the 5th night we were promised when my card was swiped.) When we got to the LOG cabin (made entirely of wood, mind you), I found that the smoke detector was GONE. In addition to that, some woodwork was broken, and the air conditioner leaked one of the nights it rained. Also, my debit card number, along with SEVERAL other debit card numbers, along with card holder names, security numbers, and card types, were laying in plain view on the office counter for anyone to see. And finally, the operator knew we were staying in the cabin for our honeymoon, and he put us in a cabin with BUNK BEDS. I will absolutely not be staying here ever again, and will make sure no one I know stays there either.

This place sucks. The owner is not friendly at all. There are no trees to block noise from other campers. The pool is not heated. There is a construction site right next to the campground. Also there are dogs and coyotes outside the campground that bark all night. Trust me, do not camp here. There are plenty of other real campgrounds in Door County.

On a recent trip to Door Co we decided to find a "cabin" for my husband and 2 small dogs. Even though I was going to make the reservation early, my 1st choices of cabins were filled already. So I choose the Beantown becasue they were available and my dogs wer free. When we arrived, the owner checked us in- not very friendly or informative- pretty gruff. We went to check out out cabin- 1st we see it is a trailer that looks like a cabin. When we went inside it wasn't very clean- deah flies everywhere so I had to sweep the floor. The futon (the only place to sit) was broken and the bed was a mattress about 6 inches and then it was on a plywood base. The bathroom was so tiny that my husband could only put 1 hand in the sink at a time, also had to dry off and dress in the bedroom because there was no room in the bathroom. I todl the owner twice to fix the futon and bring us something to sit on (we were sitting in our lawnchairs) Finally he brought another futon- this one was not much better- so if you are looking for a no frills trailer/cabin this is for you- me, I won't stay again.

Our usual campground was full. So we selected Beantown as their website showed an attractive campground. We were told check in was anytime. We arrived to meet a gruffy sort of fellow asleep in a chair and I had say hello a couple of times to rouse him, finally he woke up. He had our reservation on a slip of paper and printed us a receipt from a compter. Showed us to our site and never explained any quite time rules, where the trash was located, or the bathhouses. The sites were small and dog poop was everywhere no seemed to pick up after their pooch. The ladies bathrooms were filthy and the showers ran cold too soon. There was a cabin across the street from our trailer that had an obnoxious light staring right into our trailer. Worst were the roudy tent campers that drank into the night. I will never got there again and would not recommend it.

Saw the bad reviews on the way there, wasn't sure what to expect but being a previous campground owner I had a pretty good feeling it was all going to be okay. Campground is modern with nice pool, big gorgeous restrooms, long level sites with full hookups. If you take a moment and chat with the owner, you will find he is friendlier then he looks so to say. Don't judge a book by its cover, the guy is busy. I prefer a non wooded campground, it keeps the mosquitos down, this campground is not woodsy or on water, we didn't go for that, we needed a big site for our motorhome with hookups, that's all. There were kids in the pool after dark making noise, doesn't bother me, I liked pulling in and not having to listen to a half hour of rules and preaching like the jellystone the night before, he even guided us to our site, paid double at the jellystone and they didn't even do that.

Booked our cabin 6 months in advance(during the winter months) . No confirmation was received. I called and left messages and emailed and no response. I called when they opened for the season and Confirmed our reservation. The owner confirmed our 5 night stay. Two days before we were to arrive we called to confirm one last time. We were told we only had our cabin for 4 nights because the owner rented it out for our last night and even though we made our reservation 6 months ago and confirmed we wasn't willing to work with us because he already took the deposit for the other couples stay! He then said he lost our reservation in fact lost several and there was nothing he could do. He did give us the number to Ridges Inn and Suites to see if we could get a room from them for the last night. I called Ridges Inn and suites and they were so accommodating we ended up canceling our stay at beantown and stayed our 5 nights at Ridges Inn and Suites!! I would recommend staying at Ridges Inn and Suites!
