Our Door County waterfront resort is open year round. You can explore its natural beauty in every season: spring when the woods come alive with flowers, summer with its sunny days at the beach, fall with its festivals and trees dressed in a rainbow of colors, and winter with its quiet beauty of glittering snow on groomed trails. Afterwards, relax in one of our comfortable one and two bedroom suites, or staterooms; most with scenic views of the tranquil harbor or Toft’s Point Nature Preserve just across the road. Baileys Harbor Yacht Club Resort is open year round to provide our guests with premier accommodations during Door County’s four seasons of fun and relaxation.

This was the first time we've stayed at this hotel in Door County, and it absolutely met and exceeded our expectations. We had a king room overlooking the lake. Very nice size with a worktable, couches, and a balcony to enjoy the sunset. The room featured real dishes, glasses, and silverware plus a refrigerator and microwave. Also featured a good sized tv with a DVD player. The resort features indoor and outdoor pools. When we were there the outdoor pool was closed but the indoor pool and hot tub were open. In the main building you can borrow games, DVD's, check out bicycles, and warm by the fire with complimentary coffee. Snacks are also available for purchase. Only negative: We were on the second floor and there are no elevators, thus be prepared to carry luggage upstairs. Overall, I recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Great location close to everything- fishing, hiking nearby, beach, short driving distance to all north DC attractions. We stayed in a 2 bedroom loft- spacious layout. Only downside is that our room was outdated. Sofa was sticky, mattress on the king bed had a dip in it, carpet was dirty. A renovation/upgrade seems overdue. I will certainly revisit if this happens.

During our week stay we found our room acceptable and we very pleased with its location and the resort location. Our room, 110, was large enough but it was not at all lovely. The bedspreads were dark and old. The couch and chair were comfortable but dark and unattractive. The beds would have been comfortable but the bedding was skimpy. We were cold with one thin blanket that seemed short. The wall art was worse than garage sale leftovers. Honestly, such a nice property should be prettier!

A big plus here was the water view from the room and the access to two wonderful swimming pools - one heated outdoor pool and one indoor pool. They are clean and well kept. The front desk staff was welcoming and always helpful. I greatly appreciated easy access to the lobby computer and printer although there is no privacy for its use in that location.

We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit in the Adriana building. It was nicely decorated, spacious, clean and the screened in porch was awesome! We had a full kitchen which was fairly well stocked with dishes and cookware. The bedrooms were good size and each had a king sized bed. It was a perfect set up for 2 couples.
We loved being on the quiet side of Door County and could easily get to the bay side cities. The views of the lake were beautiful and it was very relaxing to sit in the Adirondack chairs down by the water.
The outdoor pool was nice, clean and well-maintained. There was also an indoor pool and a large indoor hot tub that we did not take advantage of.
The not so good things:
1) there was a window air conditioner in the living room of our unit. It was not strong enough to also cool the bedrooms.
2) the beds were pretty uncomfortable, the mattress in the master should be replaced
3) the water in the taps had a fairly strong sulfur smell. We bought jugs of water to drink but just brushing your teeth or showering the smell was unpleasant.

Response from Matthew Falk-Lefay, General Manager at Baileys Harbor Yacht Club Resort
Responded Aug 29, 2020
Thank you for your honest and detailed review, I'm grateful that you were here and were able to enjoy most of our amenities. So we can address the mattress and water problems, if would be much appreciated if you could email or call me so I know the room number? We are on a well here, and the water is high in minerals and iron, which sometimes causes a sulfur smell. The water is perfectly safe, thankfully, and usually we can flush the hot water heater and it goes away again. Mattresses are trickier. Each of our condos are privately owned and individual owner's preferences for mattress firmness varies, however if we have other condos available we would be more than happy to help you find one which suited your needs.

Great facility - we will be back. Nicely set- up condos. A bedroom with loft gave us exactly the room we needed for a family of 3-4 for a week vs a hotel room. Having both an indoor and outdoor pool is a really nice option. Had we been better prepared we would have brought more food to prepare at the unit since everywhere you go in Door County for all dining from Breakfast to Dinner is jammed with long waits and unexpected closures. It is a ways out of Bailey’s Harbor, which we found a huge advantage from being in a tourist filled town area. Beautiful grounds and lake views. Only complaint would be , that since each unit is individually owned , they are all furnished and stocked differently. Ours had very hard, inexpensive mattresses, and limited cooking items. So the owner of this one seems to be in it for rental income vs a place for themselves.

We have stayed here for many years. The location is perfect. Every night you are greeted with a view from an Adirondack chair of a stunning sunset. The rooms/suites are comfortable, clean and spacious. Nice kitchenette with clean equipment and utensils, stove top, microwave, and fridge. Staff is very kind. Had late cancellation for personal family issue and John/Anne very accommodating and issued a credit for future stay. We tried a few other venues but you cannot beat this location, away from crowds, yet close to restaurants and shops in Bailys Harbor. Serene and relaxing. Easy access to paved but not busy roadways to bike. Highly recommended for a lovely Door County experience.

This July was our second time at Bailey's Harbor. We chose a room facing the lake and it was absolutely gorgeous! The room was decorated so lovingly with adorable lake house decorations like a lighthouse on the mantle of the fireplace and an awesome floor lamp resembling a dock lamp. What sets this place apart is the family feel. I always feel welcomed and cared for while I am there, even if I never need to interact with the staff. It has a special vibe. Places like BHYC are hard to come by, but I hope it lasts for many years to come for many more families like mine to enjoy. A wonderful place. And... if you love July 4th like we do, you can watch the BH fireworks right on the lake of the property. No need to drive or walk anywhere.

Oh, and how awesome it is to sleep with the windows open feeling the lake breeze all night. I could go on. This is a very special place.

Room Tip: I suggest getting a view of the pool or lake. I wouldn't want a patio next to the parking lot.

This property is in serious need of updating. I have not seen a microwave as old as the one we had. i think is was from the 60's. I could not drink the water as it smelled like rotten eggs. You had to take a lesson on how to operate the heating and cooling system. The directions were on the wall and were very confusing. The key to the room was an actual key. I can't remember the last time I had an actual key to my room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. It overlooked the water but was across the road from the water. We had a lower level room and you could hear every foot step the person above us made. There was no sound proofing at his hotel.

We had a two bedroom, two bathroom suite with fireplace and kitchen. It was perfect for our weekend getaway. Everything was very clean and in excellent working condition. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware and utensils, too. My only suggestion for improvement is to add some non-skid materials to the bottom of the shower/tub and/or grab bars. The tubs, especially the whirlpool, were quite deep and stepping out of them without any support was a bit dicey. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely return. The free DVD rentals were great as well.

We've been to Door County 5 or 6 times before, and we've stayed on both the lake side and the bay side, but the BHYCR was, without a doubt, the most beautiful and most relaxing location we've ever stayed at.

We had a suite on the ground floor facing the harbor. It was so nice to have our own private patio with a table and chairs. Another pleasant spot to enjoy the beauty of Baileys Harbor was from the Adirondack chairs at the water's edge.

The sunsets were spectacular, and quite a few guests gathered at sunset to enjoy the views.

The only reason I didn't give an overall rating of "5" was that the furnishings in our unit (#304) were quite dated. They were clean and comfortable, but in need of an update. Units are individually owned, so each unit is furnished differently. The photos on the website are helpful in that regard.

If/when we return to Door County, we'll definitely stay here again.
