This lovely old hotel has more charm and character in one room than a network of modern chain- hotels - and that's what we loved about it. Conveniently located with handy parking we found the room roomy, clean, comfortable and cool. They are named after 'famous' people who've stayed there which was fun. The lobby area floor was being refinished... More

The pricing for this jewel located in the small town of Williamson, West Virginia is unbelievable! Clean, historic, convenient and safe parking and the wonderful customer service from Edna and her staff are top notched. The banjo music as you enter the lobby sets the tone for a wonderful stay! I have stayed there twice and have recently booked my... More

I always find the Mountaineer Hotel to be clean and accommodating.I stay there often, every time i am in the area for travel. The lobby is beautiful. Since i have ATT my cell phone does not work anywhere in the area. The rooms have telephones but one can not dial out. The WiFi is free and works well. There is... More

Our family of four stayed here during the Hatfields and McCoys Marathon festivities. From the first walk in the hotel, you know you are staying in a historic hotel, yet the stay was as updated as possible. We overheard another young boy saying "why don't they make hotels like this anymore!" The hotel did a wonderful job catering to the... More

We recently stayed here for the Hatfield McCoy marathon, and absolutely loved the place! I immediately sent home pictures of the beautiful lobby and chandeliers! The rooms are named for country stars, and we were fortunate enough to get a king room that was wonderful from the size, comfy bed and linens. The bathroom itself is small, but that goes... More

The lobby of this hotel is beautiful and historic. The staff is pleasant. There is free parking across the street in the hotel's parking garage. Many celebrities (country) have purportedly stayed here in bygone days. My room was clean and small (it was a single room), and had a mini refrigerator and a flat-screen TV with a very good selection... More

We stayed here on a motorcycle trip. We couldn't find other rooms in town and there were twelve of us. I'm glad we couldn't find other accomodations. The lady working kept warning us that it was an old hotel and the beds and rooms were small. I have seen much smaller elsewhere. The place was clean and the staff very... More

Checked this hotel out in the area for lodging during school. Offers handicapped access in the elevator, rooms are historical and smaller which would make navigating by wheelchair hard. The hotel is busy refreshing rooms and trying to update. The price quoted was 80 something a night but if stays four nights may get a discounted break, Private off the... More
