I always find the Mountaineer Hotel to be clean and accommodating.I stay there often, every time i am in the area for travel. The lobby is beautiful. Since i have ATT my cell phone does not work anywhere in the area. The rooms have telephones but one can not dial out. The WiFi is free and works well. There is... More

This is a half to place to stay. Really enjoyed Our Stay This place is located on the West Virginia/Kentucky line. People were so Friendly. Would Recommend this a place to stay. The Bluegrass music that was played as you enter the lobby was so unique I will definitely stay here if I'm any close to Williamson West Virginia

Our family of four stayed here during the Hatfields and McCoys Marathon festivities. From the first walk in the hotel, you know you are staying in a historic hotel, yet the stay was as updated as possible. We overheard another young boy saying "why don't they make hotels like this anymore!" The hotel did a wonderful job catering to the... More

We recently stayed here for the Hatfield McCoy marathon, and absolutely loved the place! I immediately sent home pictures of the beautiful lobby and chandeliers! The rooms are named for country stars, and we were fortunate enough to get a king room that was wonderful from the size, comfy bed and linens. The bathroom itself is small, but that goes... More

The lobby of this hotel is beautiful and historic. The staff is pleasant. There is free parking across the street in the hotel's parking garage. Many celebrities (country) have purportedly stayed here in bygone days. My room was clean and small (it was a single room), and had a mini refrigerator and a flat-screen TV with a very good selection... More

We stayed here on a motorcycle trip. We couldn't find other rooms in town and there were twelve of us. I'm glad we couldn't find other accomodations. The lady working kept warning us that it was an old hotel and the beds and rooms were small. I have seen much smaller elsewhere. The place was clean and the staff very... More

Checked this hotel out in the area for lodging during school. Offers handicapped access in the elevator, rooms are historical and smaller which would make navigating by wheelchair hard. The hotel is busy refreshing rooms and trying to update. The price quoted was 80 something a night but if stays four nights may get a discounted break, Private off the... More

I came here with my family to visit my husband working in this town. The parking garage ceiling is falling to pieces and there are multiple leaks in there but other than that I just love this place. It's like stepping back in time. The rooms are very clean and pretty! The lady at the front desk is just the... More

This hotel was built, I believe, back in the 1920's when Williamson was a booming community. The town is a mere shell of its glory days but this hotel still stands. It is being slowly renovated by its current owner who, by the way, lives at the hotel. The two-story hotel lobby, dominated by a massive chandelier, has been restored... More
