We chose this B & B due to it being close to the battlefield and Harpers Ferry. It is also located in a small town that has some choices for dinner each night, within walking distance. The bad: Not much to add here, maybe that it's located on a busy noisy intersection The good: Extremely well kept, close to the...

My husband and I drove just 90 minutes from DC to stay at this beautiful B&B in Shepherdstown, WV. We had never been here before -- there is so much to do. The Inn is very welcoming and this hosts are so friendly and helpful. They helped make our trip even more special. They have several sitting rooms, one always...

Hubby & I spent the night here while in town to go to the Opera House Live for the Hackensaw Boys. Excellent choice!! We had previously stayed twice at the Quality Inn & frankly, really didn't feel safe in their parking lot. Splurged on the Thomas Shepherd Inn & was blown away. I'm a sucker for historic buildings and the...

Stayed one night here on our way to D.C. Only about an hour away from the city but a nice little town with historical sites nearby and good restaurants within a block or two of the Inn. Cozy comfortable room and there was a lounge area 2 doors away with a fridge, books, computer and info on the area. Downstairs...

Thanks for the good words. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Traffic can be tough sometimes. When the house was built it was just horse and buggy, not trucks and cars!

Two very special nights at Thomas Shepherd Inn were a gift from our children. Without fail, they carefully select an outstanding B & B every year. This year was no exception. Lauren, the Innkeeper, is a genuinely caring person who creates a most welcoming setting. I wish we could have stayed another night. The rooms are comfortable and the house itself...

One night at Thomas Shepherd Inn was dreamy! Antique furniture throughout the Inn and the Innkeeper's charm made our stay very enjoyable! The King-size bed in Room 5 was very restful! The full breakfast included the next morning was wonderful! Five stars in every way! The advertised spiritual activity in Shepherdstown was not experienced this time around by us. The...

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! And O'Hurley's is always fun.

This is a very comfortable and lovely B&B even though the building is quite old. Lauren is a very congenial innkeeper, and was so interesting to talk to. Our room was very quiet and private, and was quite spacious. Lauren always provided us with a yummy breakfast, so we were always anxious to see what she would prepare the next...

It's tough not to love the little town of Shepherdstown, WV. We ran into a number of VERY talkative, friendly folks. The streets are charming, and strolling around is very nice. But the most relaxing spot in the village might be the garden behind the Thomas Shepherd Inn. Grab a bottle of wine and go sit in the back in...

We had a one-night getaway to the Thomas Shepherd Inn. We arrived early evening and had time to relax on the home's second floor veranda before strolling into town for dinner. The home is spotlessly clean and roomy. We were in the back of the house and heard no noise - from within or without the house. Great black-out window...

Just what a good B&B should be. Charming house, carefully restored. Within easy walking distance to the University and on the main street, (which is only 3 or 4 blocks long). Gracious hosts. And the best, freshest, healthiest breakfast I have ever had at a B&B. Most of the food is local and/or organic, and very well prepared.
