Came here for a several day stay. We didn’t know any better and there aren’t a ton of choices. The staff is nice and helpful. None of what I’m about to write is their fault. They need a job just like the rest of us. This hotel truly still looks and smells like the 1980’s. ZERO UPDATES. A lot of the hotel has problems that need maintenance. The ownership has totally ignored this place. It truly looks like they are trying to take in as much money as possible just to keep it open. Yet, they have NO MONEY to do repairs. It’s really mismanaged. Your stay comes with breakfast. That’s until you go for breakfast and the doors are closed. NO ONE there to make it. We had it 1 morning out of 5. I would love to see a comment back from the owner to please refute any of this. But they can’t. It’s all true. And even if they tried, unless they said there was a huge renovation coming, it’s a lie. You can see this in other reviews. DO NOT STAY HERE. There is a Comfort Inn just up the road. Stay there!! Again. Not the staffs fault. They were very kind.…
Very friendly staff and just loved the old style lodge design. Rooms were big, quiet and most of all, very clean. I now know my new stop over when heading back to Pittsburgh from Florida. Glad I stopped and just wish I could have stayed another night. Thanks
If you are looking for a clean, fairly comfortable room at a decent rate, then this place is fine. The king bed had a dip in the middle and wasn't very comfy but it was ok. If you are looking at the amenities advertised, proceed at your own risk. As others have mentioned, this hotel was probably once the place to stay but it seems the owner isn't concerned about updating, fixing, or maintaining much of anything. The game room is a glorified closet with about 6 or so games, I think 4 were out of order. The gym had about 8 or so machines, outdated, broken parts, etc... The pool looked slightly dirty but the main eye sore was broken or missing ceiling tiles and the hot tub was closed. Based on other reviews it's been roped off for months. The free breakfast wasn't horrible but it wasn't very fresh either. There was cereal but no milk. The worker came out once, looked around and went back into the kitchen and never returned. A side door wouldn't take our room key to let us park closer so we had to park further and walk. Elevators were out of order, also for months from what I've read. Ice machines out of order as well. When I first walked in the sidewalks were covered with fallen tree branches and snow and ice. The gutter was hanging off the side of the building. In the lobby first thing I saw was wet, brown ceiling tiles that have never been replaced. General maintenance here needs serious attention. The hotel has real potential still just needs major attention.…
Dated. Basic. Spartan. Clean. If all you want is a bed, uts fine. Dated but fine. Faded wallpaper, peeling paint, faded upholstery, it took about ten minutes for water in shower to get hot. Attached restaurant had decent limited menu but food and drinks were good. Buffet breakfast was basic, got me going.
We stayed in the area 2 nights, here one night and another hotel another night. Pool closed early and no hot tub so that was disappointing. Rooms dated but clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and breakfast was very good. Convenient location and pet friendly.
Front desk was clean and welcoming. The rooms are clean and adequate. The restaurant serves food in the bar.. The bar allows smoking :( So they offered the dining room for us. The restaurant serves "bar food" in plastic to-go packaging. Will select another restaurant for tomorrow.
Greeted by totally disinterested staff on check-in; unmasked despite sign at door requiring mask for entry. Other staff were nicer and more helpful. King Suite room--no couch! Not really a suite room. Had to watch TV lying in bed. Bedside table on only one side. All amenities--pool, racquetball court, fitness cente-- closed, purportedly due to Covid, but really due to low occupancy since season not in full gear. No microwave in room--one microwave in basement (so much for Covid excuse). Housekeeping did not do a good job even when they did come in ("limited" housekeeping due to Covid). Care more about fancy towel folding than cleaning surfaces. Bag "breakfast" was pre-packaged high-carb junk (muffins, cookies, granola bars) and not a shred of protein (like yogurt). Coffee urn not filled after 9 a.m. Reasonably comfortable bed. Would not recommend.…
My friends and I were on a road trip and decided to stop for the night. This was the closest hotel and we decided to give it a go. It certainly needs some updating, but for the price it was great. The hotel desk staff were very nice and friendly. The rooms were large and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. They had several items set out at breakfast along with bags and you could select a variety of treats to take with you. This was very nice.
There is no hot water. They said they had a call in to get it fixed, but this is unacceptable. They are not doing anything to make it right. The bed is also hard as a rock. Forget being able to sleep.
This was my second stay here, but the first was many years ago. The Miss West Virginia contest housed their contestants there. It was a beautiful conference center then. Now it seems rundown and needs to be remodeled. The rooms are clean and affordable. The bag breakfast (due to COVID) lack imagination and the front desk staff didn’t seem to be enjoying her job. We will not be returning.
