I just spent a weekend at the Inn with my dance group. We all left saying we cannot wait to be back. The owners took such good care of us, we truly felt pampered. Delicious fresh meals, super charming accommodations, a gorgeous setting and mostly, very welcoming owners. People who put people first. Thank you Michael and Patrick, I wish you huge success and a very long run Ghislaine
We stayed at the Inn for a weekend family wedding nearby. Everything was exactly right - the rooms, the hosts, the lovely breakfasts, even the weather. Michael and Patrick were the perfect innkeepers: friendly, helpful, and, most importantly, calm and gracious. The main house is impeccable, as are the two outbuildings (our party occupied all the rooms.) I cannot recommend it highly enough for a comfortable, gracious stay. We would definitely stay there again.
The new owners of the Inn were great! Personable and no request was too small. The room included breakfast. There is a light reception Happy Hour in the late afternoon with adult beverages and snacks. The rooms are very nice, maintaining the historic charm with modern amenities. The breakfast and service was nicely done with family receipts from the owners. They inn has a General store on the property that has special coffee and the best ice cream. Both of the owners are vaccinated and keep the premise clean with available sanitizer. The area is great for biking, walks in the woods/trails and in close proximity to the Trout Pond recreational area. Drive is an easy two hour trip from Tyson's Corner, VA
My boyfriend and I were in need of a weekend getaway from D.C. and spent a night at the Inn at Lost River. It was everything you’d want in historic bed and breakfast - charming and comfortable in a picturesque setting. Lots of indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing and enjoying the views. We stayed in the Cranny Crow room upstairs - the bed was comfy and we had plenty of space with a sofa/sitting area. The breakfast was fabulous - everything was homemade and really delicious (especially the coffee cake!!!). Michael and Patrick were wonderful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. They also gave us some great tips about hikes and things to do in the area. It was an easy and scenic drive from D.C., I will definitely come again!
The new owners Patrick and Michael were delightful. We enjoyed talking to them and having a welcome drink after arrival. They recommended eating at the Lost River Grill just a half mile down the road. I would also highly recommend eating there. After dinner we came back to the Inn and chatted with Patrick and Michael for a good while, learning their stories. I would highly recommend staying at the Inn and we can't wait for the general store & cafe to open. Our mushroom omelet for breakfast was phenomenal. We can't wait to go again next summer. We stayed in the Smokehouse and loved it.
I had a brief but fabulous stay at Inn at Lost River. Toni and Ted were so kind and welcoming. The B&B is beautiful, comfortable and safe; everything I needed as a solo traveler. I stayed in the “Take me home country roads” room. It was spacious and the bed was SO COMFORTABLE. Probably the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in that is not my own. Toni and Ted are thoughtful and kind. The food was absolutely delicious! I ate SO WELL at their B&B. The wine offered in the evening was also very good (I bought some from their store on my way out because I liked it so much). I wouldn’t change a thing; I was totally pleased with my visit.
Lovely setting. Elegant home. Gracious hosts. Comfortable bed/room. Gathering spaces. Reasonable prices. Delicious breakfast. Nearby interests. Glorious nature. Country store cafe. Yummy ice cream. Just go!
We just spent three nights at The Inn at Lost River and had a wonderful time. The hosts, Ted and Toni H. are great - warm and welcoming. They make you feel truly at home. The breakfasts were outstanding. The Inn is centrally located in a beautiful area with great nature hikes available at the Lost River State Park and Trout Pond Lake. This is a great place for a retreat away from the hustle-bustle of everyday life located in the mountains of West Virginia.
Toni and Ted are wonderful, thoughtful hosts that make yummy, filling breakfasts! They are also very helpful with dining recommendations and tips about local attractions. We stayed at the B&B for a summer weekend and really enjoyed the tranquility and views in the Lost River area. We've stayed at many B&Bs and The Inn at Lost River has our favorite dining room - the right mix of casual sophistication and country charm. A visit to the General Store is a must as well.
The Inn at Lost River is a beautiful, quaint and cozy B&B. There are stunning views across the property, including the screened in back porch. Our room was spacious and so wonderfully decorated and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast was completely delicious both days, with many options to choose from. Ted & Toni were the most gracious hosts and this will be our go-to spot in Lost River, and now a relaxing weekend getaway from the city.
