The Great Oak B&B was a wonderful experience for a long weekend getaway. We were taken aback visually when we first arrived because there was no sign indicating that it was a B&B. Also, the building and carriage house are in need of exterior painting. But the inside of both are in fine condition. I read the prior reviews raving... More

The room is over the carriage house which is nice for privacy. Very comfortable room and 4 poster bed. Wayne and Tara were wonderful hosts. The breakfast choices are tremendous and are delicious. Be sure to ask for the cinnamon rolls! They are knowledgeable about the area for visiting sites as well as the Greenbrier River. Walking distance to town,... More

Three forever friends all turning 60 this summer decided to get away and spend some quality time together. A family friend clued us in to Lewisburg so began our search for a bed and breakfast where we could celebrate our birthdays without disturbing others. The room could be used as an efficiency apartment; it had everything we needed, and is... More

My wife I and I had only three days to get away, and a colleague recommended Lewisburg as a quiet, "cool" place. I thought a B&B would be fun and different - but I had no idea how wonderful it would be. The room is above their carriage house, private and comfortable - and with every amenity you can think... Yes! Perfect! Wayne and Tara are wonderful! The accommodations are clean and comfortable plus close to everything! The room is very private and has all the special touches you need to feel right at home. The breakfast each morning was to die for! Let me tell you, you will not be hungry for lunch! :) If you need any advice... More

We plan to visit again! Gourmet breakfast with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. Pecan sticky buns were absolutely amazing! Comfortable room with plenty of space for spreading out. The hosts were delightful and their recommendations for restaurants, shopping & biking were spot-on.. The Greenbrier River Trail is very close and an absolutely beautiful trail to ride. We were delighted to... More

Wonderful B&B! The accommodations were very lovely and comfortable with everything you could need. The hosts were so friendly and helpful we felt right at home, like staying with family. The breakfast was UNBELIEVABLE! It was only the 2 of us and there was enough delicious food to feed 6. We enjoyed every part of our stay there and highly... More

After staying at the Great Oak I agree with most of all of the earlier tripadvisor reviews and think they are generally accurate. There are few things worth mentioning that are very import to us. First, the hosts were flexible in dealing with some late changes to our reservations which was very nice. Second, they were willing to allow our... More

We have stayed in the Lewisburg area quite a few times and were very happy to find The Great Oak available on a very busy weekend. The room is beautifully done, very large, private, and furnished to a high standard. The innkeepers have put a lot of thought into providing those details that make your stay comfortable: coffee and tea... More

The only room offered here is the large room with two beds over the carriage house. The room is sweetly decorated with the finest sheets and blankets (high thread count, a delight to feel). The space is recently renovated with a nice bathroom, and is well stocked with a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker and basket of goodies. Breakfast was delightful... More
