One of the best place I have ever stayed! Will definitely be returning. Bed are comfy, thr room and the inn are spotless! Food is stupendous and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Lewisburg.
Loved the town of Lewisburg and the General Lewis Inn is the place to stay. We just parked the car and were able to walk everywhere in town. The staff was friendly, especially Seth. He built us a fire on the patio so we could enjoy our cocktails outside and checked on us regularly. He was also very knowledgeable of the history of the Inn.
Another great visit to the General. We had a small problem, our fault, and the front desk staff was excellent. The dining room was great for dinner and brunch the following morning. We Will be back soon.
Truly had the best experience. It is such a charming historical place to stay! Loved the fire and fresh coffee and biscuits each morning. The staff was so kind and helpful. We ate dinner at the inn both nights. So yummy! Harris Sams, the bartender had the best drinks hands down. It is in a beautiful location to walk around and can quickly access the shops and food in town. Great southern hospitality! Can’t wait to come back!
It's an old building. We requested a room on the top (second) floor. We new we had to climb steps but were offered assistance often. My wife and I and most everyone else in the Inn were senior citizens. We had a great time with drinks on the patio around a fire pit with many new friends.
My husband and I enjoyed three nights in the Destiny Garden Suite at the Historic General Lewis Inn. We had a sitting room with a TV and a window overlooking the patio and garden. Our bedroom was spacious with a king-size bed that was very comfortable. And the bathroom!! A claw-footed bath tub --!!! -- as well as a spacious walk-in shower. What an indulgence to take a bath in that tub. Check-in was a breeze with Ashley's competent help. Although we arrived early, the cheese tray and bottle of wine we had requested were waiting for us so we sipped and snacked in comfort looking out at the garden. It was tremendous having a well-stocked bar on the premises. Bartender Harris took great care of us. An easy walk allowed us to explore Lewisburg on foot. We enjoyed dinner one evening in the dining room but the one breakfast we had there disappointed (eggs not cooked to order; long delay getting food). We would highly recommend staying at this beautiful inn.…
Incredible weekend in Lewisburg and stayed in the General Lewis Inn. A welcome trip back in time from the moment we walked in. The room was the perfect size for myself. They are in the process of updating rooms, but still maintaining the great authenticity of the era. Beds, bedding, furniture was perfect! We ordered a drink at the bar, and took it into the parlor but could have also taken it to the outside seating areas as they would be perfect places to gather and talk. (It was raining) The bartender did an incredible job explaining his tinctures and homemade syrups for outstanding cocktails! Relaxing to the music reminiscent of the era added to the whole experience! Take a walk down into town and really enjoy the serenity of Lewisburg!
Dinner was outstanding! Room was well prepared-clean! The bed was too high and squeaky. Room was right above the kitchen and this meant lot's of banging and noise below until 2AM. This should be disclosed when describing this room.
Wonderful hotel! We found this place last minute and I’m so glad we did. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in was a breeze and we had no issues. Our room was VERY clean and the beds were super comfortable. We ate breakfast and dinner and enjoyed the bar. Everything was delicious! The hotel is within easy walking distance to other restaurants and shops. Don’t miss out on this place!
I stay at the Historical General Lewis Inn every opportunity I get when I work in this area. It is clean, great customer service, the complimentary coffee and biscuits in the morning are delicious! I have dined in the restaurant and the food is exceptional. There is a quaint bar that I do indulge that has fine wine and cocktails available. One of my favorite things about the Inn is the patio and garden in the back. In the rooms are also complimentary Sweet Springs water that literally is the best water I have drank! There are different shops and restaurants that are in walking distance and the place and surrounding area is full of civil war history which makes it an interesting and intriguing stay. Just such a beautiful experience!
