We are bed and breakfast people, we prefer to stay in these rather than hotels. We drove 2-hours out of our way to stay at this location due to possible paranormal activity. The inn is stately and graciously appointed. The desk staff were pleasant and friendly and allowed us to check in a bit early (we'd had 2-hours of sleep... More

The inn is beautifully restored yet keeps the historical qualities. The staff was very friendly and helpful in giving us directions and information on places to eat and visit. Because it is an historical property be aware that the floors can be uneven and you have to walk up stairs to the second floor. Our room (206) had a very... More

Warning: this is not an economical choice for the solo traveler. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms so well preserved and tastefully decorated. The bar is welcoming. The staff was responsive, accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed the spacious upgraded room, the expansive gardens and was happy to spend most of my getaway at the inn rather than shopping.

The bathroom in Room 122 is so small and inadequate, it pretty much dampened any enthusiasm we may have had about staying here. Countertop space was very limited, which meant keeping cosmetics and toiletries on the dresser just outside the bathroom. Even a small shelf between the sink and mirror would have been helpful. The poor quality "antique" bathroom mirror... More

Yes, it was almost romantic. We arrived just after the flood. Most of the time we were there we were on water restrictions. The place was well maintained and the room service was great for what they were dealing with. My biggest complaint is that I tried contacting them after the flood to find out if we should come. Because... More

Lewisburg is a cool place to visit, and I can't really picture staying anywhere else. It is a beautiful property, and the restaurant is top notch. The yard in the back is beautiful. The rooms are definitely old, as the Inn itself is very old, but they are comfortable. Worth a visit for sure.

We stayed at the General Lewis for my sisters wedding weekend and had the most amazing time! First off, the Inn is so precious. From the great front porch, to the lobby and bar, to the amazing back patio and garden (where they have yoga in the grass), to the rooms - everything was so special. The staff was so... More

My wife and I stayed in the original master bedroom of this historic mansion (Room 806, I think). The room was furnished with 19th century furniture including the two double beds for which a step ladder is needed to comfortably get into. The bathroom was modern. Since we appreciate old houses, it was a pleasure to stay here. Our family... More

The Inn is run by a lovely young couple who also own the Stardust Cafe (which I would also recommend). They are developing this into a charming destination location. The Inn is still being renovated and they have done a wonderful job so far. I look forward to my next visit to see what is next. The service is excellent and... More

I am absolutely smitten with this historic inn. The ownership have created a space that embraces its history while providing modern touches to make guests comfortable. The rooms are so cute with high, comfortable beds and classic historical decorations. The classy and comfortable bar space is my dream space for cozying up with a book. The bartender, Austin, is a...
