I was lucky to reserve a room here during our class reunion. I love to walk, and could walk to the school, to downtown, and cool off sitting in a rocking chair on the porch. I loved 224, a small room, but a nice antidote for some of the overly large rooms in other places lately. Locally roasted coffee was... More

I stayed here while on a business trip and thoroughly enjoyed the inn. Some of the rooms have been re-modeled and some have not. I stayed in one of the older rooms, but still loved the experience. The staff was more then helpful as was the owner when I experienced some difficulties with my bath tub. It was very quickly... More

Loved staying here. The rooms are large, our bathroom was the size of a postage stamp but that was ok. The other room we had, had a much larger bathroom and fireplace. The employees were nice. It's a great place to spend the weekend and explore Lewisburg. Be sure to eat breakfast there. It is good and much better than... More

The hotel is gorgeous and authentically historic. All staff were gracious and accommodating. We stayed in room 208, lots of reports of paranormal activity, but sadly did not experience it. The downside is the prices of drinks in the bar, and no coffee in the room. Coffee is available from 6 to 9 a.m. Although the restaurant gets good reviews,... More

The hotel is located a short walk from a well maintained and historic downtown and the Genaral Lewis hasmaintained it's history, charm and integrity. Though smaller in size the rooms take you back to an older period in time that a customer would expect to experience. The wi-fi was excellent , the staff polite and friendly with the complementary breakfast... More

I'm so glad that we stayed at the General Lewis Inn, we could walk to everything in the area. The rooms are very comfortable and the hospitality was outstanding. Make sure that you eat at the restaurant there as well. Some of the best breakfast in town.

We are bed and breakfast people, we prefer to stay in these rather than hotels. We drove 2-hours out of our way to stay at this location due to possible paranormal activity. The inn is stately and graciously appointed. The desk staff were pleasant and friendly and allowed us to check in a bit early (we'd had 2-hours of sleep... More

The inn is beautifully restored yet keeps the historical qualities. The staff was very friendly and helpful in giving us directions and information on places to eat and visit. Because it is an historical property be aware that the floors can be uneven and you have to walk up stairs to the second floor. Our room (206) had a very... More

Warning: this is not an economical choice for the solo traveler. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms so well preserved and tastefully decorated. The bar is welcoming. The staff was responsive, accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed the spacious upgraded room, the expansive gardens and was happy to spend most of my getaway at the inn rather than shopping.

The bathroom in Room 122 is so small and inadequate, it pretty much dampened any enthusiasm we may have had about staying here. Countertop space was very limited, which meant keeping cosmetics and toiletries on the dresser just outside the bathroom. Even a small shelf between the sink and mirror would have been helpful. The poor quality "antique" bathroom mirror... More
