Found this place at their website and corresponded by text with owner, Billie Webb. She said place was available that night, asked when we would arrive and description of car. But when we arrived, she said it had not been cleaned and was not available. We are seniors, and were stuck at dusk with nowhere to stay (finally found a cruddy motel not too far away). Do NOT trust these people.
We had family coming in from out of town for my mother’s Celebration of Life. With it being peak season, lodging was limited. I contacted Mill Creek Cabins. From my first conversation with Billie, she has been absolutely wonderful. She found a way to accommodate all of our guest and practice safe distance due to our current pandemic. Check in was smooth. I got all positive feedback from the cabins and what a good time everyone had. Cabin 6 is the way to go!!!! Again, I can’t say how personable the staff is, like talking to a friend. Will definitely refer other guest and use again.
We spent three nights (Fri, Sat, Sun) in cabin 7 at Mill Creek Cabins. The place was perfect for our family of four. My husband and I stayed downstairs, and our son and daughter each had their own big beds upstairs in the loft. They also had their own half bath up there, which was very convenient. There was a third bedroom downstairs which we never used. We also never used the hot tub. The kitchen had all the basic appliances, and we used them all. It was my husband's birthday, so I brought my own mixer and we baked a cake! One night, we built a campfire and did the whole hot dogs and smores thing. The TV was tiny, but we watched a couple movies on its built-in DVD player the night it rained. The living area inside was great, and the covered porch outside was the BEST. Even though there were other cabins nearby, we felt completely secluded and private. Adventures on the Gorge is five minutes away, and Fayetteville is about 15 minutes further. Anything we forgot was easy to replace at Ben Franklin or Walmart. This was one of our best weekends ever.…
Stayed a night in this cabin during a trout fishing trip in the spring. Great location, very private, close proximity to town and other amenities. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. TV reception was a no go, but that's okay. Very nice hot tub as well.
Just finished up with a great weekend at Mill Creek Cabins. The cabin was appropriately stocked and had a gorgeous area around the fire pit. The cabins are very centrally located...close to Summersville Lake, New River Gorge Bridge, etc. Highly recommend!
2 friends and I booked a weekend getaway. We stayed in cabin #4. It was clean, affordable and easy to reserve. We stayed a total of 3 nights and were provided 8 towels, 8 wash clothes, 3 toilet paper and 3 paper towels. In addition there was a trash bag in the trash can as well as an extra. By the end of day 3 we needed toilet paper and upon request it was delivered. Directions are clearly written out on how to operate things in the cabin. Very nice fire pit area, well lit after dark with motion lights. Firewood was provided. Hot tub was clean and hot. Cabin was cozy. Plenty of parking space and nice pathways leading to cabin door. I would highly recommend Mill Creek Cabins. The hospitality is great and the cabin is just right for getting away and enjoying a relaxing getaway! Wi-fi was good there also. Couldn't have asked for a better getaway if I tried. Hope to reserve again soon!! Thank you!…
Stayed there on Tuesday the 18th and did a phone order that same day. Told me a cabin would be 150 so I booked it. Was charged 168. When I called they told me that is tax added on. Every other place told me the upfront price with tax. Rude customer service. Unless you want a surprise on your credit card bill, book anywhere else.
We had a family reunion over the weekend and utilized the lakefront cabins. Very nice accommodations. Cabins were clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Really nice bonfire, on the beach, facing the bridge, every night. This was provided by the staff. Only suggestions would be that when you pack your own linens, make sure to include a mattress pad. Their mattresses' are vinyl or plastic coated and don't breath well. That added cushion would remedy that. I will visit again. In fact the 32 of us are talking about reserving for next year to do it again!
This is a nice clean cabin. It is good for couples or family's. It was so relaxing sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings listening to the birds. The hot tub on the patio is really relaxing also.
Overall, I was satisfied with my stay at Mill Creek Cabins. I think they may be in the middle of a change of ownership, as the emails are from New River Gorge Cabins. We had a bit of a hard time booking accommodation. There was not an online option, and the initial phone number had a full voicemail, and the email account was also full. I was able to leave a message at the toll-free line, and was called back. I booked cabin #4 for 5 people for 7 nights. The location is excellent. It is just off 19, and the roads were ok. The property was very beautiful, as was our cabin, settled into the side of the mountain. My first impression was great. Everything was clean and seemed well stocked. At first... The issues we ran into were: towels - 5 people for 7 days... no way to dry the towels... constantly damp towels. toilet paper - They provided one small roll, and I had to call for more. They delivered 5 rolls, but they didn't last till the end of the week. It was very cheap paper, and the rolls were tiny. I also requested a cabin change and never received any call about availability. garbage bags and paper towels - I called and requested. They said they only provided one... (my email confirmation said otherwise) Pots and pans - It was very difficult to make a meal with three small pots and one large pot. There was only one tiny saute pan. I also needed a roasting pan. Only a couple cookie sheets. Hot tub - bugs collected around the inset tub. Can't really see how to improve that. Also could have used more chemicals by the 5th day. It started to smell. The cabin also seemed to be very damp. I am sure that has to do with the design, in which the cabin was built into the mountain. We couldn't get anything dry. A washer/dryer set would GREATLY improve the experience. My biggest suggestion would be to improve the Internet situation. I thought there would be wifi, but apparently that is only in cabin #1 & #2... The TV was about 13 inches... Our data plans were exceeded using the cell tower. I booked this reservation for approx $200/night including taxes. I think with a little tweaking, this could be an amazing property. It just isn't yet.…
