Where do we begin. We were searching for a special place to have our wedding that was off the beaten path, and we found it. We were a bit apprehensive to take the leap from the beginning but are extremely happy we did so. I cannot say enough about the staff; from our first conversations with Michelle to our time on the island with Mr. Leslie and their team. The wedding that Lizbeth coordinated went over and above our expectations. The team at Thatch Caye took a lot of pride in their service and above all made sure we and all our guests had a fantastic stay. I know many, including us, will come back for another visit in the future to your special spot in Belize. Thank You Again to the entire Thatch Caye Team!!

Hotel's Favorite
I have been home from Thatch Caye for about three weeks and am still daydreaming about it every day. It's hard to know what to rave about first, but I will have to start with the people. Every member of the Thatch Caye staff was wonderful, and I felt so at home from the moment I arrived. The island is beautiful with charming, comfortable accommodations and little touches all around the property that make it so special. It's like something out of a travel magazine photo shoot, but it is REAL! We practiced yoga at Serenity Point which was magical. The food was delicious; I was especially impressed with all the varieties of homemade breads the chefs whipped up! Culture Night was also a great highlight. I definitely left a piece of my heart at Thatch Caye and will be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, please pet sweet Dewey the island dog for me!

Where do I begin?!?! This trip was amazing from the moment we met the boat at the dock! Captain was friendly and informative about other cayes. We were greeted with a welcome cocktail and a shot by the whole staff. Our trip was a little different because it was while the country was not letting in tourists however I’m sure you will receive the same level of service. Our rooms were over the ocean with a great view of the sunrise with a hammock on our porch. So many fun toys on the island to keep you entertained. Ben the bartender was amazing, friendly, made great cocktails and played some great tunes. In the afternoon we went to the happy hour ocean pool bar. The food was outstanding the chef did an amazing job. The guys on the island went out to catch fresh lobster and fish which we enjoyed in various forms. The plates were plenty to keep to full and energized so you could enjoy the whole island. I’ve lived in Belize for 3 years and these guys really impressed me!! Go check them out. Also I might add they accommodated us last minute because Cocoplum Caye the caye next to them canceled on us with less than a 24 hour notice. Everything we asked for we got to the best of their ability!! They even made a cake for our friends birthday!! Thanks for everything! We will be back!!

The best part well there's so many best parts there is not just one best part. When you say best part is such a misnomer. Lobster fishing lobster eating. Snorkeling laying on the beach drinking up the Sun and the rum. And the food yes the food, This is worth things get a little merky, You see the food that the people eat that work there is way better then the food they make for a guests, This is not a fall for their trying to meet what they perceive to be the needs of the guests. And I'm sure most people are happy with what they serve because it is delicious however it ain't nothing like what mama's cookin in the kitchen for the workers. Seriously the one thing you need to go therefore and I'm not kidding is the food the cook is cooking for the help black chicken gumbo of some kind just 1 meal after another insane delicious. Blow off the American made crapola and eat what the cook is cooking for the help period!!!!!!! I'm going back just to eat the black chick.

Way back in July 2019, when the world had never heard of "coronavirus", a good friend announced her destination wedding at Thatch Caye. We had never heard of it! The timing of her wedding coincided with our 20th anniversary so... why not? We were lucky to have a few days in paradise before the wedding encourage arrived and took over the entire island for five memorable days. Everything was amazing. Travis took care of all the details to make sure that everyone was pampered, all details exacted, and the bride and groom were so thrilled. We highly recommend the snorkeling tour, which can be arranged with the front desk. We only ventured maybe 25 minutes away, and had the snorkeling tour of a lifetime. We saw sea life that amazed even our tour guide - including a pair of ocean manatees. Thank you to all the hard working employees who made this an experience of a lifetime!!!
