My husband and I just finished a 5 night stay here and can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff is fantastic and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The food was delicious. They had specials for breakfast and lunch and a large buffet dinner each evening. The drinks were wonderful. Freddy was an awesome bartender and always took great care of us. He made some delicious craft cocktails and drinks. The service was top notch! Kamal was so fun and was a rockstar at karaoke! :) Our room was cleaned daily and was always well appointed and very clean. We did some excursions that were set up by the staff and had our transport to and from the island perfectly timed. Also did some fly fishing on the north side of the island and landed a bonefish. We really never worried about anything. This place is so well run. Would absolutely stay there again.…

5* in every single way The food, the drinks, the staff, the overwater bungalows, and amenities were all amazing. I went on a yoga retreat recently and we were obsessed with this island and resort. We loved the intimacy of the island. Only 30 people can stay at a time so never crowded or a battle for a beach chair or hammock. The food was literally the best I have had on any vacation. Huge variety and a plethora. Everything was to die for. I wanted to bring the chef home with me. Also I have food allergies and the staff not only was accommodating, but always remembered my name, allergy, and confirmed it was safe for me to eat. This rarely happens anywhere so was much appreciated. Freddie was the best bartender. He was so passionate about his specialty drinks. House keeping was great. William the manager was super helpful with the organization of our yoga retreat. The servers and dive shop were also helpful and so kind. This was a one of a kind place. I rarely go to places more than once because there is so much in this world to see. However, I plan to come back because it was that great. The only negative was the sand flies. I got bit up bad. But worth it!…

This was a relaxing winter getaway - amazing staff - delicious food every day - so much to do - scuba, snorkle, fishing, paddle boards, kayaks, massages, creative and delicious island drinks. Communal eating is an added bonus, made new friends which broadened our experience.

Being on an island made this such a unique vacation. We loved it! Can't say enough good things. What also made this stay unique was the amazing staff. They knew all our names within a day. We came as a group of 30 and filled the island and the staff felt like part of our family. The food was outstanding! Eliza is a talented chef. We didn't expect luxury but accommodations were very nice. Lots to do.

My husband and I did our honeymoon at Thatch Caye, and we are happy we did. We have not done an all-inclusive resort before so we didn't know what to expect. I heard other comments from guests they have stayed at more luxurious places. While that may be the case, we felt like this was the vacation we were looking for. The entire staff did a fantastic job making us feel welcome. The guest capacity is quite low at 30 guests and initially we assumed we wouldn't interact with anyone. Boy we were wrong, with so few guests around we all felt very natural interacting with each other. In fact without the other guests, it might feel a little lonely. What a private island. The food was heart warming and everything was comforting and delicious. Chef Eliza really took care of us with her Belizean fried jacks! Daniel and Shakira we fantastic servers. Freddy was the best bartender ever and always made sure he was creating new and delicious drinks for us. We were never thirsty or hungry and there was always food/drinks to be had. Our room was simple and minimalistic without a dresser or closet. But the view from our bungalow was phenomenal. The hammock on the patio was a nice touch. We did not have a premium bungalow, just the standard one, but we were so happy with what we got. If you are ready for a minimalistic private island vacation, this is for you. Excursion can also be purchased and they don't nickel and dime you for the boat rides back to the mainland. The boat is always there when you need it. the Staff will take care of you. loved our experience.…

We are almost home from our 6 night Belize trip and had an amazing time!! We stayed 3 nights in a premier overwater bungalow at Thatch Caye. First of all, the island itself and the people who worked there were amazing! William at the front desk, Daniel at the bar, Richie in the boat and with the personalized conch shell, and Chef Eliza with the food! I can’t say enough great things! They were all amazing and we LOVED our stay. We were super skeptical about the community dinners but ended up loving it. We really enjoyed all our meals and the all-inclusive package was definitely worth it. The snorkeling excursion to the reef was our favorite trip and we also just loved biking the island and lounging at serenity point. My only point for you to know- you’re on an island! In the ocean! That means that things are luxurious and also can be a bit rustic at times. It’s 1000% worth it and the whole place is clean and beautiful! Just know that you’re going on an island! Let go and enjoy!…

Stayed here on my one for five nights. Definitely recommend upgrading to a premium overwater bungalow. Watching the sunrise from your bed is magical. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially Freddie in the main bar. Would recommend the day snorkelling, the night snorkel run by Thatch staff and the reef fishing. My first fish that I caught was a large grouper and I had it cooked for me that night. Even the snorkelling in the waters around the island was great. Everyone including the other guests made me so welcome. Pure paradise.

Wonderful stay with fantastic staff! The chef, Eliza, created delicious 5* meals and graciously accommodated our meal requests. She showed so much pride in her cooking and was always available for the guests. Kamal, Monique, Daniel & William all provided excellent service and great energy; and other staff members were always pleasant. Loved the overwater bungalow and the rustic nature of the island. We enjoyed the excursions from the island. Excursion staff was fun and competent. We highly recommend Thatch Caye!

To start I have been in travel in hospitality management for over 20 years. I went to college many moons ago at rosen part of UCF for the hospitality management program. I mention this because I have stayed at the nest of the best all over the world. I have also managed the best of the best all over the world. I had reserved this particular property for my next yoga retreat for over a year. Between this and 3 other properties. I chose this location in Belize because of the stunning secluded location on a private bungalow overlooking the ocean. I travel solo because I want a getaway from catering to guests and renew my soul with the yoga portion. Many people don’t realize how demanding this industry can be and I always give credit where credit is due. I think it’s important to give feedback and appreciation to such hard working individuals. The guest service here is unmatched. A stay in a 5 star resort is just a stay unless the vital component where the service and accommodations make an unforgettable experience. Just like a restaurant, even if the food is 5 stars…if the service is horrible…you will have a negative experience overall. Something I learned in the beginning of my career that has always stuck with me is “it takes a lifetime to get a guest through your doors and only a minute to have them never come back” I was nervous about a charter and from the moment I landed in Belize I was taken care of. But that’s just the start. When pulling up by boat I was met by Kamau (and we will get back to him bc he truly is the key element that made this trip amazing) and Freddy who had a drink waiting welcoming me with kindness that has lasted the entirety of this trip. I always observe how the team treats not just me but other guests and coworkers. Kamau walked me to my l my bungalow (Barracuda) it was everything and then some. The view, the best the bathroom. Just like the rest of the property- always in pristine condition. The Dining hall, the common areas…I rise early and the staff maintaining this property is incredible. Not just at their job but raking a property and walk ways and amenities - this is another observation that makes Thatch Caye top notch. I want to get to the people who showed exemplary service and I KNOW this property would not be what it is without these people. The main superstar is Kamau. His vibrant energy, his positive outlook, his hospitality. HE is the reason for this letter. Again, I observe. He was ALWAYS working. His work ethic is a rarity these days. He was always assisting. ALWAYS had a smile on his face. The treatment he gave to guests should be used in training anyone in the industry. Everytime i saw him he was either tending to guests…laughing and hugging them, working behind the scenes and jumping in to other departments to ensure each guest had the best experience. I witnessed him hugging a guest within the first minute of me arriving. THIS is what we need…not just in hospitality but in this world. He is by far Thatch Caye’s biggest asset. I have hired and managed so many teams of hospitality staff and HE has that it factor an employer is always seeking to find. I truly hope the CEO who owns multiple properties understands what a vital role Kamau plays. I also hope his salary reflects his dedication to his job. Do EVERYTHING to take care of him and keeping him because he made this stay. I want to thank him personally as well bc with so many personalities of guests he was able to seamlessly give the epitome of what true hospitality is. For just me he ran in the rain to get me an umbrella, went kayaking with me (bc im solo) THREW AN EPIC DANCE PARTY and always made sure he asked if he could get me anything and was the face of Thatch Caye. I witnessed him laughing, singing, helping each guest. I was blown away that this was the bar of guest service. Aimmee is also amazing. Many guests praised her and I have injuries so I get 2 hr massages 1-2 times a week. I always am skeptical bc it’s hard to find a good masseuse. To show just how awesome she is I got 3 massages (a 90 min Anxiety relief, 60 minute deep tissue and then a 90 min seaweed wrap. That girl knew her stuff. Her technique is great. She was careful to check in with me and ask how i was doing and shes a mastermind at dealing with the wind. Bartenders Freddy and Daniel were always on top of it. Im sorry i drank all the strawberry daiquiris. Friendly and truly inviting guests into the Belizean culture. They are incredible bartenders. I had amazing experience and it was 95% due to the guest experience. Thank you once again. I will be back 💕🏝️…
