My Wife and I had an incredible time here. The staff was the best part. EXTREMLY ACCOMADTING and welcoming. We loved the island and it had spectacular views. The fresh caught food was incredible. If you're into fly fishing I couldn't imagine a better place. I loved that during the day the resort was so quiet and it gave my wife and I the relaxation we needed. We got one free one free excursion that was the Lobster hunt. It was fun and we got some snorkeling but wouldn't recommend paying for it if you don't have free diving experience. Still absolutely incredible place
We very much enjoyed our stay at Thatch caye! Great seafood and meat options for the all inclusive package. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. The private island is beautiful and serene! We will definitely come back.
I visited Thatch Caye in 9/2022 and stayed for about a week and still could have had more to do. I fished, relaxed, star gazed, island crawled, snorkeled, and so much more. I could go on and on, the staff was amazing and treated me very well. I definitely recommend visiting, the mountain view in the morning, is such a sight to be seen. I miss it already!
Thatch Caye and the wonderful team lead by Mr. and Mrs. Leslie (Big Sexy and his lovely wife) was amazing! We made friends from all over and had the most relaxing vacation ever. The remoteness of the island and the limited guests allowed was exactly what we needed. The food was delicious and every special request granted w the utmost service. This resort is the opposite of an upscale luxury vacation but what it lacked in swanky accommodations it had rich culture, great service, amazing experiences to connect with nature and fun all around. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere is perfect if you’re wanting to truly disconnect and relax. The food was amazing everyday and the service was impeccable. They take care of everything, so you have a smooth vacation. We came here for our one year anniversary and it was everything we hoped for and more. We stayed in a premier cabana and loved having our own hammock/roof area. We kayaked around the island and saw many starfish. We also were able to see stingrays and a few nurse sharks in the evening.
From the moment we arrived, greeted by the friendly staff and island dogs, a refreshing drink and warm hellos, we knew we picked the right place. We fell in love with the staff. Great people. The service was excellent. Piece of heaven. We wanted to unplug and we did. Eliza, the chef, spoiled us with her island menu creations and treated us like family! Shakira greeted us each morning with a smile and hug and ready to make us any drink we wanted. We enjoyed getting to know all of our friends at Thatch Caye! And, I can’t forget sweet Monique, darling Daniel, Big Sexy and Ms Leslie. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable. All of you make Thatch Caye magical!
My husband and I had such a relaxing and outstanding stay at Thatch Caye that I almost don’t know where to begin. The staff are the absolute best and made us feel so well looked after, we might be spoiled for future travel elsewhere! The food is phenomenal, we loved the rotating menu every day. Home cooked meals made with lots of love. We probably had one of the best massages of our lives. Kamau set a friendly and energetic vibe at the bar and around the main lounge every day - you can tell he loves life! Setting is beautiful but also laid back and helps you relax, very natural and not overly landscaped, but everything was well maintained and in its place. We loved getting to mix with the other guests, but the cap at 30 guests total makes the island feel intimate but never crowded. Looking forward to visiting again in the future!…
My husband and I visited Belize for our honeymoon and stayed at Thatch Caye for a few days. Everything there was absolutely beautiful. The private beach and "swimming pool" made for some great fun in the sun, and the 360 degree views of the ocean are just incredible. While on the island itself, we saw lots of fun wildlife, especially from our overwater bungalow. The space was on the smaller side, but we hardly spent time in the room as we were out and about enjoying the beach or excursions. We would highly recommend the snorkeling tours and ATM cave tour - both are worth every penny and made our trip even more unforgettable. Additionally, all staff from Thatch Caye were so kind and did everything they could to make our honeymoon special and relaxing. The food was also delicious, and they were able to accommodate vegetarian diets easily.…
We are vegan and the Chef made us something new and delicious for every meal. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were told they are going to update the thatched roof overwater bungalows, but until then, if you have allergies, I would stick to the cabanas, which are very nice.
We had a great time at Thatch Caye just relaxing on the beach, sipping on rum cocktails and filling our bellies with delicious food! The resort really embraces the natural beauty of the island and encourages guests to connect with the sea, sand, salt and critters. We stayed for a week and for anyone staying that long I would suggest budgeting to do more excursions. We did two excursions, the lobster hunt and the barrier reef snorkel which were awesome. Darvin, our guide, was super fun, informative and welcoming. Everyone on the island is so nice and welcoming and caring, it felt like we were part of the family! Also, because of the small guest capacity, you really get to know the other visitors there and leave vacation with some new friends from all over! Highly recommend staying at Thatch Caye.…
