We had a charming and cozy stay in Cabin 4 this week. We hated to leave, started to feel like my home! The hosts are friendly and accommodating. The cabin had everything we needed! Just brought food and our own pillows. I loved, loved, loved the pet accommodations. There was fenced yard for them. We went to the Long Point Trail to see the New River Gorge. It was a beautiful hike. We will definitely come to Hemlock Haven again. The Rupes
The cabins might be lovely but we wouldn't know. We rented a cabin in May for an early August stay. We spoke to someone at the lodge by phone and booked at that time. We received our confirmation from the lodge and all the information was correct. In the morning, before leaving the house for our four hour drive, we let them know we were on the way. When we got there we were told that they double booked, oops, and they were expecting a different party. It was clear that it was their mistake. We had booked first AND we arrived first. (We had booked for four nights and the other party had booked for three, and they had now double booked the fourth night, too.) They were so sorry! Cindi, the owner, asked if we would stay in her deceased mother's house nearby instead. We had no choice since they would not let us into the cabin and there were no other places available in the area. The house was adequate but not prepared for renters. The drawers were full of someone else's things and the closets were jammed full so that there was no place for us to hang anything. The worst of it, though, is that the front room where you enter the house is a game room. Don't think Monopoly or pool table. There are taxidermized animal heads mounted on every wall, a whole lion standing in a "savannah", and zebra rug taking up the center of the room. Our grandkid was so freaked out she couldn't sleep the first night. The reason I gave two stars instead of one is that they admitted fault and came up with a solution, though certainly not one we would have chosen had we had any choice.…
Wow! This place was an incredible find! My husband and I stayed here as a stop on our way to our daughter’s house. Cindy, the owner, and Colleen, her assistant were very receptive , cordial and inviting. There are (4) log cabins relatively the same in layout and furnishings. Apparently there are two more larger cabins for larger parties. The four cabins are close in proximity but far enough apart to provide privacy. The accommodations were immaculately clean-this coming from a cleanliness phobic kinda nut! All furniture was clean, in good repair and esthetically well coordinated-not “hodge-lodge”. The kitchen was well equipped with just about everything you would need including a crock pot, blender, toaster oven, dishwasher, full size new refrigerator. The dish set is complete and pretty. The cooking utensils, pots/pans were of decent quality. Each cabin is equipped with full size, newer washers/dryers. There are two bedrooms downstairs and a large loft type of bedroom/suite area upstairs. Perhaps one of the beat things we appreciated was their welcome and accommodating of our two large dogs. Each cabin has its own fenced in yard - just open the door and let them out safely. Their pet guidelines are very fair and spelled out. Over all I would highly recommend Hemlock Haven cabin rentals. This is close proximity for visiting the New River Gorge, trails for hiking, white water rafting, sight seeing. If I had to provide any constructive criticisms, it would be that the towels aren’t very white and not soft in the least. The other thing the should be mentioned is the road leading to Hemlock Haven. At first, you may feel you weren’t in the right place since it’s location is so remote and the roads and some of the homes leading there are not exactly in good repair. However, this is no reflection on the cabin rental owners. You will be very pleasantly surprised. Plus we found it enjoyable to stop the car and “converse” with the horses and other farm animals going in and out. We will be staying there again. A special thank you to Cindy and Colleen!…
I have stayed in many cabins, this cabin is top notch. All the little details: CLEAN, everything included, ie; fully stocked kitchen, hair dryer, iron, lots of lightning, hot tub, fenced yard for dog, and hooks in every room for hanging your clothes, towels, etc. Secluded, yet close to Summersville and Fayetteville. Great cabin!! Says it sleeps 8, only 2 bedrooms and 2 beds in loft, but couch does pull out for 2 more people to sleep. Highly recommend.
We stayed for two nights at blue paradise (cabin 1). It has a fairly large fenced in yard which was perfect for our dogs. It was pretty private and a quiet place. We enjoyed the hiking trail near the cabin. The negative part of the cabin is the furniture. I am not picky about beds at all but these were the worst beds ever. All the beds were on wheels and moved around a lot and squeaked if you rolled over. I would stay here again but we would bring an air mattress.
I have been to many cabins in the wild and this one is my favorite by far. It is great trails for all skill levels to choose from and the amenities can't be beat for the location. You can find many other cabins but the value here is best
We stayed overnight here and found it a comfy and clean cabin. Very helpful owners. The hot tub was just what the doctor ordered after a long drive. Very peaceful and had everything you would need apart from your personal toiletries
I stayed in cabin 1, Blue Paradise. All you need to bring are your toiletries (shampoo, etc.), slippers for the hardwood floors, and groceries (coffee is provided). There are plenty of towels, toilet paper, and paper towels. I was pleased that the clothes detergent is free of perfumes. The AC and heat worked fine, as did the DirecTv. There was a glitch with the Wifi, but the owner reset it when she came by midweek to check the hot tub. There are hooks for your clothing but no closets. The switch for the kitchen lights is over the fridge. The strip of lights for the steep outside stairs is solar powered and there was a lot of rain during my stay so they didn't always last into morning. I recommend using Lookout road from the highway to Mallard Lane. Google indicates that Mallard connects with the highway, which is not true. The alley next to the gas station needs a high-clearance vehicle.…
We stayed here early november. The weather was just perfect! we stayed in Bingo's bungalow and it has just everything!!!!! The beds are nice, nice soft bedding and great yard for playing catch, football or anything really. The hot tub is a nice touch too. The back yard is fenced in and we had our dogs with us which was just so nice for us to do. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook with . There is also a nice walking trail right outside your cabin. They have thought of everything and we had a really great stay!!!!
Loved it!. Good location. Cabin #4 great and CLEAN! Wifi spotty but that's normal for this area. Kitchen totally stocked. Owners very responsive to hot tub stupidity on our part. Great fire pit and game room just up the road. Recommend bringing own pillows and air mattress for the loft upstairs (tons of room) instead of the couch pullout bed. That way little kids can sack out up there while adults are on couch. Very pleased and want to return in the fall.
