My wife and I stayed for 8 days at the Acadian Cottage managed by Dogwood Cabins. Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean cabin on arrival. This is inside a gated community near the main road in Townsend. We were there for the half marathon but tacked on a week of hiking after. These folks were really top notch to deal with. A few things you should know. 1. The driveway was sorta steep, don't use the first driveway entrance, use the second and just pull straight in. We had a Toyota Camry and had no issues. 2. There are no dressers or drawers where you can unpack anything. Plan on living out of your suit case. There are closets but these were already crammed with things like ironing boards, vaccum, etc. 3. The mattress in the downstairs bedroom is a bit flimsy. We stayed upstairs in the loft. Other than these minor issues we really enjoyed our stay. We liked it so much that we stayed an extra day. Dogwood staff was very accommodating.

If you are headed to the new River gorge area this is a friendly, clean and affordable place to stay. The owner presses the bed linens, cleans top to bottom, and makes sure you have everything you need. Close proximity to fayetville and Beckley.

Our family of 8 (4 couples) planned to meet up in West Virginia for a weekend of whitewater rafting. The Chestnut cabin was the perfect place to gather together, yet have our own spaces. The cabin is immaculately clean and is in excellent condition with all the comforts of home - attractive decor, fresh linens and towels, wifi, hot tub, satellite radio piped throughout the house, TVs in each bedroom, and a fully-equipped kitchen with everything we needed to make a great meal after a day of rafting. The Chestnut is close to Adventures on the Gorge and other attractions. No light pollution here either so we had an amazing view of the stars and the Milky Way. Brenda was extremely helpful and friendly. Any time we return to West Virginia we plan to stay here. We didn't want to leave!

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Brenda was an absolute help. She helped us with everything. I highly recomend these cabins! The scenery was absolutley beautiful. Brenda helped us to go ziplinning, for the first time. In my opinion the lager chains have a lot to learn from Brenda at DogWood Cabins.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable cabin exactly as described. It's even less expensive than the rustic, poorly reviewed rafting cabins. Great hot tub. Enjoyed the firepit, porch swing and many trails on the property. Quick (5 min), easy drive to rafting, hiking the gorge trails and into Fayetteville. Plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 kids. Highly recommended!
