We chose the Lost Paddle for our family of 4 and loved it! The last "cabin" we stayed in didn't even have a bathroom so as my daughter said, "this is a HOUSE, not a cabin!"

Country Road Cabins is a set of cabins and glamping tent rentals on the same large property. You can see other cabins in the distance, but the cabin property still feels very private - no one will see me drinking coffee in my robe outside or taking a dip in the hot tub unless they're looking with binoculars!

My kids do much better on long trips when they have their own sleeping space, so we choose carefully, and this worked out well. Although it's 2 bedrooms, the bunk bed is in a loft area upstairs, so there can be a door between them.

The first floor has a living room, dining room, kitchen, king bedroom, and bathroom with a tub. The second floor had the loft with bunk bed, a queen bedroom, and a bathroom with a stall shower. Keep in mind the the living room and loft are open to each other, if you're having people sleep in both.

There's a deck in the front and back. In back there's the hot tub and grill. In front there's a fire ring, and wood is provided.

The kitchen is nicely stocked for simple vacation cooking, including foil and paper towels, all size pots and pans, lasagna pan, colander, spatulas and other utensils. Plates and glasses too, and a dishwasher. When we arrived the can opener didn't work and we mentioned it at the front desk in the morning and immediately got a new one. Everything is very well maintained and clean.

The whole cabin including the hot tub and grill were immaculately clean upon arrival. No stuffy "woodsy" feeling to any of it. Even my nature-hating extended family would have enjoyed it!

The cabin had an excellent binder of laminated pages of local activities and restaurants with menus.

While here, within less than an hours drive we enjoyed indoor rock climbing, mini golf, rafting, water park, hiking, waterfalls, an old train town, a cute hippie town, coal tours, and spectacular drives and views. MORE than enough to do even with kids who are too young to do a lot of the local adventure sports. I would return here in a heartbeat!

I booked the Wilderness Cabin for a family of 4 based on reviews. I was very pleased with our stay. The cabin is surrounded by trees and is private and peaceful. We had our own private hot tub on the back deck along with a grill. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots, dish soap, microwave, dishwasher, foil, plastic wrap, paper towels, napkins, spices and cooking oil. They also provide all linens and towels. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When we checked in the cabin was clean, the beds were made up and the hot tub was on. ( I was also told that the hot tubs are emptied and sanitized after each guest leaves) There is a tv with Dish satellite. They don't have any movie channels, but they have a dvd player and you can bring your own movies. We were overall very happy with our cabin. I gave my review 4 stars because the third bedroom was set up in a basement area (it didn't look like a basement),but it was secluded and the person staying down there has to come upstairs to use a bathroom. The other issue was that the bathrooms need updating. The shower stalls are very small and there really isn't much space for your shampoo, etc. The owner did tell us in conversation that the Wilderness is one of their older cabins and will be getting a full renovation at some point. Other than that, I highly recommend Country Road Cabins. They are clean (we didn't see any bugs or critters in our cabin), the staff is friendly, and it really is a little bit of serenity in the woods.

Country Road Cabins deserves all the five star ratings it has received. Our cabin, Appalachian, was super clean and provided all the comforts of home -- WIFI, satellite TV, kitchen utensils and condiments, gas grill, wood burning fireplace, hot tub and comfortable beds. All of this in a wooded area, far removed from other cabins and highway noise. We ordered the Food Lovers package they offer (steaks, eggs, bacon, lunch meats, and so much more) thinking we would arrive late and wouldn't feel like grocery shopping after a long day's drive. Best decision ever as the food provided was of outstanding quality, and quantity. Cannot say enough good things about our three nights in Appalachian. We will definitely stay here again on return visits!

Very private cabins. Very clean. They provide all kitchen stuff. There was a blender, crock pot , cookie sheets , bowls, plates, You name it, it was there. There was even measuring cups and an egg slicer in the drawer. If you go visit the New River Gorge bridge make sure you take Fayette Station Road which goes under the bridge. The grist mill at Babcock State Park 15 miles away is worth the trip.

My family and I stayed here for a quick one night getaway. I was completely impressed and will be returning. My first thought was that I really liked how spaced out the cabins were. When we arrived at our cabin I felt like we were the only ones there, even though there was car at almost every place.

The cabin and grounds were incredibly clean and stocked with everything we needed from plates and silverware, down to the shampoo I forgot to bring! We were next to a field where our girls, 6 and 4, spent hours playing soccer, blowing bubbles, and looking for bugs. When we were ready for dinner, I went to fire up the grill and I was shocked to find it was cleaner than my own ever thought of being. For dessert we made s'mores at the fire pit and then caught some lightning bugs.

After winding down I took the cover off of the hot tub and was yet again pleasantly surprised. There was not a single bug, leaf or spec of anything in the water. I found out the next day from an employee that they actually drain and clean every hot tub after every guest!

The beds were comfortable and I even got an added bonus of a storm rolling through and we listened to the rain on the tin roof.

Our family had an incredible time and our daughters are already asking when we can go back. Next time, I think we may go for one of the tree houses! I'm really glad we tried this place and will remember this trip for a very long time.

Our family of 6 headed to WV to see the fall color change, stayed at CRC after the peak season and barely saw any other people. The cabin was fully stocked, had great wi-fi, a smart TV to use our streaming services. We stayed in Cherokee, right near the main office. The website advertised games available in the office but that wasn’t the case, apparently they had all been lent out and not replaced. Hot tub takes up most of the back porch, but there is a front porch too, so it’s a win. Maintenance was quick-noticed our porch light out and came by without being asked to replace it. We wanted a campfire and there wasn’t a fire ring when we arrived, so we asked the office about it one morning and by the time we got back that evening, we had a fire ring and four chairs waiting on us! It is noisy with kids upstairs—lots of creaky wooden floors, but plenty of space and well stocked kitchen!

We stayed in the three bedroom Spencer cabin, and for our group of 6 (3 couples) it really was perfect. The kitchen was very provided. The hot tub and grill were both very well maintained. We would all stay here again in a heartbeat. It's a little close to the road, but I didn't notice any noise from outside while in the room at night. Checking in was extremely easy, if you are coming in after 5pm they will leave the instructions for you at the door (it's a key code not a physical key)

Part of our trip was rafting nearby and seemed most of the outfits were about 15 minutes away so very easy in that regard.

My friend and I stayed in the Tropical Sun glamp site and it was everything we'd hoped it would be and more. We were there overnight for her birthday, and the atmosphere was perfect. The bed was very comfortable, the furnishings and decor felt like the most fun clubhouse/pillow fort ever! Even though it was playful, the temperature control was great and it felt secure and private. There is a tankless water heater, so we didn't worry about running out of hot water.

The fridge is a bit small if you'll be staying for an extended period of time. Along those lines, there isn't much in the way of storage if you're staying for a few days and are the type who likes to unpack. Otherwise, there was plenty of space for us to spread out, and seating on the front porch and around a fire pit outside.

The kitchenette was reasonably well-appointed with decent knives and a hot plate, so it would definitely be possible to stay for several days or more and cook. Plus, there is a grill on the porch! If you're looking to eat out a time or two, I'd suggest the Cathedral Cafe in Fayetteville--excellent food and environment.

We're so excited about our experience that we're thinking about going back for my birthday later this year! Check in and check out were a breeze and the staff I spoke to when reserving were very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Loved our cabin, and the location was very convenient to all of the adventures around New River Gorge Bridge. Perfect for our family with two teens. Dog friendly, but be very careful and reach out right away to get one of the only few cabins that allows dogs. This was not clear on their website and really should be an option at the time of booking vs having to call separately. The new owner was very nice and the staff were friendly. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and accommodation choices!

My husband and myself stayed here over the weekend in the Mountaineer cabin and everything but the bed was perfect just a little too hard for us . The hot tub was very clean along with the cabin one of the best ones we had stayed in. We stopped in the office to see what was all around for something to do we are not into white water rafting and the owner was a very big help in helping us find a few other things to do.

Hi Rodney. We are located in Hico, WV. The WV State Fair is in Fairlea, which is about 53 miles from us. The drive time is just over an hour depending on the route taken. We do have availability during those dates. The cost depends on the number of bedrooms you need in your cabin. A 1BR cabin would be $250/night. A 2BR cabin would be $350/night. A 3BR cabin would be $375-400/night. Our 4BR cabins run $475-575/night. All of our cabins include a hot tub, gas grill, and fully equipped kitchen. The drive from our place to Fairlea is primarily along Route 60, which is an incredibly beautiful drive.

Great to hear you're thinking about a stay! We have lots of outdoor activities in our area: white water rafting, zip line tours, hiking/biking trails, rappelling, horseback riding and nearby Summersville Lake for boating, kayaking, etc. What are their interests? We do have warm weather in August but generally not too humid as we are located in the mountains....however, it's hard to predict Mother Nature these days! Thanks! Let us know if you need more info!
