My family and I stayed two nights and it was one of the best B&B experiences we've ever had. Rick was a most gracious host and gave us wonderful information about activities in the Fayetteville/New River Gorge Area. Breakfasts were hearty and tasty. Our room was spacious, incredibly comfortable and well-appointed. Undoubtedly, our experience was enriched knowing that Rick himself... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Country River Inn. Rick, the owner, was very friendly, accommodating and helpful, offering suggestions on things to do, places to eat, etc. The room was clean and comfortable and had a small fridge which was nice. The patio with a pool and hot tub was another nice perk as we were able to... More

I wasn't really sure where to stay on my first visit to the New River Gorge area, and really lucked out by choosing to stay in Fayetteville (the town closest to all the activities and sites, and with the most restaurants), and especially by booking with the Country River Inn. I truly love unique guest houses and accommodations, and this... More

A perfect place to stay, immaculately clean, & spacious rooms with small fridge, microwave & rain shower head. Rick, the owner is very friendly, helpful, attentive & cooks a great hot breakfast! Not too frilly, not too shabby, just right! I wouldn't stay any where else!

Stayed here as we passed through the state returning from the coast. Thought staying on an old school would be unusual, which we love. This is a 1980s type elementary school. Not impressed. First, couldn't find the place! The owner had said that GPS had trouble locating it but the fact that they only have a sign visible going in... More

We looked through reviews of various facilities before deciding to stay here. The family that runs the inn are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are amazingly clean, spacious, and comfortable. We both slept like logs (partly due to our hectic schedule but also because of the comfort of the beds and lack of noise from other guests). We were... More

This is a nice place to get away from the hubbub of daily life. It is in a serene and natural setting where one can appreciate the pleasure of simplicity. The inn is clean and uncluttered and the innkeeper was kind and helpful. We went to this area for rafting, and this inn is very close to a base camp.... More

OK, I get that the building doesn't look like a typical B&B. It's an old school building that has been converted into a B&B. Where it gets good is the inside of the building....it is VERY clean. I looked for dust in our room and couldn't find any. The rooms (and beds) were very comfortable as well. Now to cover... More

Old school house turned into bed and breakfast. GREAT place to stay. Very clean large comfy rooms. And the owners are very nice. Has a nice deck with pool and hot tub. only a short drive to town for some good eats.

We stayed at the Country River Inn last summer for a night while passing though the area. We were very pleased with the accommodations and the friendly staff. I was impressed at how clean it was. We will probably return to the area this summer and stay for a few more days.
