Beautiful old mansion on beautiful grounds of Davis and Elkins College. Rooms are spacious but furnished from the 1960's. Very dated and really not worth the price. With some infusion of money to bring this hotel up to date it would be beautiful. Great veranda view but run down. The conference center next door is dreadful!

Staff was VERY RUDE! They need to upgrade their rooms. Bed was 40 years old and AC doesn't work in any room. Breakfast was poor. The house and rooms are dusty. Lots of garbage on the floors where they didn't vacuum. We came in for our Baseball tournament and definitely would let go back.

My husband and I were looking for a wonderful B&B as we have had wonderful experiences in the past at others!!! Found this beautiful mansion online. The outside is very deceiving!! Once we arrived, the parking was VERY limited on a Tuesday. Cannot imagine the mad rush on the weekends! AFter checking in, they told us they had an elevator... More

I checked in while it was dark and didn't fully appreciate the beauty until the following morning. The woodwork alone is a marvel. It is easy to feel like you have stepped back in time about 100 years while inside. Nice amenities and friendly, attentive staff. The continental breakfast, with the fresh fruit, was a nice touch and added bonus.... More

While we have stayed at Graceland a few times while visiting our daughter who attends D&E, we have always stayed on the conference center side. This time we decided to splurge and stay at the main house. We reserved the Senator's suite. The rooms were very large, and filled with original furniture. We found them to be very neat and... More

My wife and I planned to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary at Graceland. My wife is orginally from Elkins and has many fond memories of the college at D & E and immediate family who have worked there for years. We were both very excited for the experience. Upon arrival everything seemed very nice and we were shown to our... More

I stayed two nights in the conference center this past week. Once past the idea of cinder block walls, I found the room in the Conference Center to be quite comfortable. The bed had a good mattress, the bathroom was clean and well lit, the wi-fi signal was strong, and the heater/ air con unit gave off a cozy drone.... More

This hotel is ok for price but for luxury it definitely does not meet those standards. Our beds had hair under the mattresses and the bathroom leaked water at the junction of the tub and floor. It served its pour pose as being an affordable place to sleep for a couple nights but not the cleanest, cozy place I would... More

My husband and I have stayed at Graceland numerous times. Most often it's an occasion, Anniversary, Valentines day. We have stayed in three of the rooms on the second floor. We love the history which surrounds this elegant summer home of bygone years. I love reading in the second floor sitting area with it's period couches in front of the... More

Although the mansion is beautiful and the staff extremely nice, I had a room with just a single bed. That part I was ok with as I'm spending the night alone. However, there is a nasty and mysterious stain on the fairly thin cheap comforter, cheap sheets that scratch and loud when you move, no mattress protector which is gross... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The new management of Graceland invites you to come and see how we've changed, and want you to know that we look forward to accommodating all of our guests and their unique lodging and dining needs. Graceland Inn, the former summer residence of West Virginia's first Democratic US Senator, Henry Gassaway Davis, is on the National Historic Landmarks Register. In 1996 the restoration of Graceland Inn was complete and opened to the public as an Historic Country Inn with a full-service restaurant. The main purpose for restoring the mansion and developing an Inn, Restaurant, and Conference Center was to create a dynamic learning lab for Davis & Elkins Hospitality and Tourism students. All rooms in Graceland Inn are furnished with antiques or Victorian reproductions. Each room has a private bath, individual climate controls, a television, and complimentary wireless internet access. Large rooms have marble lined bathrooms, and one room is equipped for handicap access. An elevator is available. The facility is completely smoke free. We also offer complimentary continental breakfast for all guests. Graceland also features a Conference Center with more traditional style hotel rooms with modern amenities and conferencing facilities. We also offer meeting and banquet space at our sister mansion, Halliehurst. The restaurant is located on the first floor of Graceland. We have four elegant dining areas, and each room's decor has its own character. In the summer months you can dine on our Veranda that overlooks the beautiful town of Elkins. The Graceland Restaurant is open to the public for lunch Wednesday-Friday from 11:00am to 2:00pm (Tuesday lunches in the summer), dinner Tuesday-Saturday from 5:30pm to 9:00pm and for Sunday Brunch 11:00am to 2:00pm. We look forward to serving you. ... more   less
