Bright Morning Inn will warm you up with its hardy breakfasts and friendly staff. Stayed in room with King size bed. It was high quality and comfy providing a great sleep in a new place. Kitchen area and bar area were spic n span. Meticulously clean and located next to Trailhead coffee which offered the best Americano I've had in years. The inn is 8 miles from Canaan Valley Ski Resorts/slopes. Why not try the Canaan Valley BBQ in the valley. Delish and I am not even a bbq fan. Lots of hiking trails and great scenery all around the state and national forests. If you wanna leave the noise and stress behind, book some three or more nights at Bright Morning Inn. Booking towards the weekend means most places are open for business.

We spent three nights at the Bright Morning Inn while we were doing day hikes in the Dolly Sods Wilderness Areas of the Monongahela National Forest. The Inn is conveniently located less than a 30-minute drive from the western trailheads and the nightly room price was significantly less than the nearby Canaan Valley Resort State Park. The room was clean. The building in which the Inn is located dates, I suspect, from the early 1900's and the furnishings could have been original to an inn from this time period and location. The bed was queen sized and comfortable but the remainder of the furnishings consisted of two nightstands, one dresser, and two very basic straight back stools. There is no television. The bath was of a modern vintage and was quite adequate for our needs. Traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic offers unique problems and the most notable of these for us was the almost total lack of dining opportunities in the area. Our stay included a mix of weekend and weekday nights. On the weekends there are a couple of dining options - including Milo's restaurant which occupies the lower floor of the building - but outside of the weekends there was just one dining option in town. Even when there was more than one dining establishment open it was for carry-out only. Bottom line, the Bright Morning Inn was adequate for our needs on this particular trip and I suspect that the dining situation will improve once we can get over this pandemic thing. Just be prepared for a basic room.

This Inn is quaint; however, it really is better suited to a younger crowd. My friend and I are in our late 60’s and just didn’t do well with the steep steps with luggage. There were several issues that weren’t great for the price. It was extremely noisy. Could hear every time another room flushed a toilet or took a shower. The shower was almost impossible to regulate the water temp and if another guest flushed or turned in water, the shower turned completely ice cold. Voices were very clear through the walls. Beds were comfortable. Food was adequate. I know we’re dealing with Covid, but the guests had to go outside to a window to order, wait outside for the food and could then bring the food inside to eat. Surely there is a better way to accommodate guests. Also, everyone in the room must order at the same time or the subsequent person is expected to pay for their food. This is totally unacceptable. Not sure I’d recommend this to anyone who isn’t in their 20/30’s. More like a hostel than an Inn.

First time here. It is a great location and a nice little place. The resturant is really good. The only issue is that things are still a little complicated due to Covid. Not thier fault and we would definitely return. The court yard with gas fire pits was a nice touch. The owner seemed like a very nice guy.
