My husband and I stayed at Carriage Inn for 1 night on our way home from a family vacation. We stayed in the Copper Beech Suite which is located on the first floor. This was a very comfortable room. We were even served our breakfast the next morning on a private screened in porch. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The history of the house and its place during the Civil War was very interesting. I would recommend staying here if you are in the Charles Town area.

My first stay at a Bed and Breakfast, and Marie and Donn made it a most enjoyable stay! From the awesome breakfast to the magnificent views of the historic mansion, every moment was a moment to treasure. From the personalized treatment in the third-floor suite to a welcoming cup of hot tea after a rainy and cold walk in the rain, I cannot imagine a more-welcoming couple! If I ever go back to Charles Town, this is where I will stay!

We just spent a most delightful weekend at the Carriage Inn in Charles Town, West Virginia.  The inn keepers, Donn and Marie, are very adorable, and tended to our every need.  We stayed in two rooms, the Garden View Room and the Shenandoah Suites, and both were beautifully appointed, comfortable, and clean.  The innkeepers have exquisite taste, down to the shower curtains and lovely hardware.  The breakfasts were delicious, and each very different.  The first morning we had a wonderful fruit cup, followed by delicious scrambled eggs.  The second morning we had a different fruit cup followed by tasty quiche and poppy seed rolls.  Fruit juices and beautiful place settings made the breakfasts perfect.  The location of the Carriage Inn is also convenient for touring both Charles Town and Harper's Ferry, which are filled with Revolutionary War and Civil War history.  In fact, the Carriage Inn played a significant roll in our Civil War history, and served as a meeting place for Generals Sheridan and Grant to plan the Shenandoah campaign.  We enjoyed the weekend so much that we plan to return in September for another visit.

Stayed for the night before a business meeting. The inn is located on the main street through town, but is not right up against the street. There is sufficient parking off a side street. The owners, Marie and Donn were very friendly and took the time to tell us the (very interesting) history of the house (and the town during the Civil War). The room was comfortable; all rooms have a private bathroom. The breakfast (cooked by Donn) was fantastic, the eggs in particular were the best you are likely to ever taste. We very much hope to have another opportunity to stay here.

This is a wonderful place to stay! The house is gorgeous and filled with interesting history. I was there for two nights and my room was super private and comfortable. The innkeepers are extremely accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was gourmet and with my room I had the option to eat on my private porch. The grounds are nicely landscaped and I found it very peaceful to just sit on the porch and relax. Both afternoons I was there they had scrumptious snacks in the dining room and there was always an assortment of tea. I wish my stay had been longer, but I will look forward to a return trip!
