We were lucky enough to go to Capon twice this year. Our second visit was Labor Day weekend for one night since I was 37 weeks pregnant. I couldn't miss the opportunity to see my Capon family. On our way there we had a tire pop. I was very nervous as we got to capon about how we would ever... More

My husband and I have becoming here for over 20 years. His family has been coming for at least 60 years. As mentioned, the vibe here is like a camp for Families. Think of the resort from "Dirty Dancing." It's a wonderful, laid back place with no TVs in the rooms, no locks on the doors, no electronic distractions. But... More

I stayed for five days and nights while participating in a Bridge seminar. I live about two hours away. I am glad that I checked their website, as I had never heard of this place. PROS: Lush, tranquil location in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Technically 4700 acres, but most of that is forest. Several hundred acres for the actual camp.... More

I was at Capon Springs and Farms for five days in late August with friends attending a bridge camp. We felt as though we were back in the 50's: delicious family style meals with a plethora of tasty simple family fare; the flag raising ceremony every morning where a guest raises the flag and all assembled sing the National Anthem;... We had an amazing time! This is such a cool place to unplug, relax and reconnect with your family! The yummy home-style food was a treat! The views are spectacular here and the piglets were delightful!

Wonderful way to drop off the grid. It's all beautiful nature and family style fun with unstructured and lightly structured time. Comfort food at its best. Hospitable and informal. Forget about work and commitments. It's all your time. If you had a great childhood with parents and extended family you can relive it or create it anew. Go for at... More

I went here more than 50 years ago and although it has changed slightly, it is still a fabulous place to come. We had a cabin up on the hill behind the main building. 3 filling meals which are family style. Every person who works there is friendly and helpful. There is every game you can think of, golf, tennis,... More

We have stayed here for the last three years with our three children, their spouses, and seven grandchildren (now aged 5 thru 12). The grandchildren also spend a week at the beach but say they actually enjoy their stay at Capon Springs better. It is a somewhat "rustic" experience with clean, simple rooms without air conditioning (ceiling and window fans... More

This unusual resort has a family feel, run by at least three generations of family. Everything that attracted us at first, has improved and continues to leave one with a magic feeling. Kind of like getting 100 wishes when you let the genie out of the bottle. The food is beyond wholesome, plentiful and adaptable to those with special diets,... More

Our overall lovely time spent with family at a reunion held at Capon Springs the third week of June, 2016 was somewhat spoiled by the bug bites that many family members suffered during our stay at the resort. We are not sure if the bites occurred outdoors, or while in our beds at night, but they were significant, and still... More
