The lodge clearly needs funds for improvements, but is doing its best with what it has to work with. The lobby area around the fireplace is pleasant and comfortable. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. As other reviewers have said, there is a stale odor in the halls and rooms, probably due to dampness in the carpeting.... More

Stayed here for one night. Room adequate. Pool already closed for season, and we were there August 8th. Not much going on, quiet, friendly host. Plenty of deer to look at and a free miniature golf course was fun.

Our family booked a week's stay in two cabins (#4 and #5) at North Bend State Park. The cabins were clean and quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed to make some basic meals. The rooms were comfortable enough -- about what you would expect for state park accommodations. The park itself is a beautiful property located... More

This was my second trip to North Bend State Park for a scouting/cycling getaway. The first trip we stayed in the Lodge. It was comfortable. I agree with some of the reviews that the overall appearance of the lodge is a bit dated, but was comfortable overall. The staff was super friendly and on this point, I disagree with what... More

We joined some family members for an early November get-together for 3 nights (Sun thru Wed). They reserved Cabin 6 and we opted to stay in the Lodge (given room 217). Upon entering the Lodge, you can tell that it's a bit dated but feels warm and welcoming. A gift shop, restaurant, and sitting area is readily available on the... More

Disappointed with our recent stay at the Lodge. From calling for reservations to checking out, the staff was less than enthusiastic or even gracious in providing customer service. What used to be a fun, charming and comfortable place to stay is now a cold, dark, dank and unfriendly spot. Several things broken in our first room. Changed in the middle... More

This was our first and probably last stay at this lodge. The facility is clean but in need of serious updating. I would classify it as rustic. We had a nice view from our room except we spent several minutes every few hours killing flies who hung around the windows. We killed approximately 200 flies over a 40 hour stay.... More

A great 4 days spent at the Lodge and hiking, sightseeing the area. Lodge is beautiful on a hill side. Dining room is glass enclosed and every table has a lovely view. Staff is great especially Ken who guided us around with educational info and tips. If you get a chance visit the Blennerhasset Island Historical park, near Parkersburg. It... More
