I stayed in the Carriage house, which was spacious and nicely appointed. Guests should be aware that the wall between the between and bathroom is partially glass, so there's no privacy. The proprietor is very gracious, and the breakfast was satisfying, including very decadent coffee cake. There was cable TV and a VHS and DVD player with a selection of... More

We had a lovely two night stay at the Highlawn Inn. We rented the smallest room and it was perfect for the two of us. The bathroom had a beautiful tub and the amenities were excellent. Our room overlooked the beautiful garden. The hosts Sandy and Laura were very helpful and welcoming. The breakfast over the weekend was a buffet... More

Came to the area to celebrate a friend's wedding. The staff could NOT have been any lovelier. They were so eager to make me feel at home, and willing to help out however they could. The owner lives on the third floor and comes down at breakfast to say hello to everyone and make sure everyone is having a good... More

We had a very pleasant stay at Highlawn b&b. Very nice staff. The inn offers a breakfast buffet; while there are not many varieties of options, but food is high quality and delicious. I saw in one of the comments someone complained about the cats in the compound; we saw two cats that were very calm and never came upstairs... More

I absolutely adored my stay at the Highlawn! From the Victorian details, to the kitties roaming about, to Sandy's personable and helpful personality to the incredible spread you are presented with for breakfast (local jam and croissants, eggs, bacon, fruit and yoghurt, etc) it is delightful and quaint in all the right ways! Thank you Sandy!! I will definitely stay... More

This was our 4th time in Berkley Springs, and second at the Highlawn. My husband and I are not "B&B" people to be sure, as we generally don't like feeling like you are in someone else's house, and the mandatory breakfast so early is a drag (IE we like to sleep til 10 or so with breakfast around 11 on... We stay here every year in February to celebrate our engagement anniversary, his birthday and Valentine's Day all at once. We look forward to catching up with Sandy and finding out what's changed..they only get better at the Inn and around town. We love the winter package because of the professional/peacefulness of the staff at Atasia Spa and Tari's. If... More

My husband and I have stayed at the High Lawn Inn many times over the past 30 years and have always been very happy with our visit. The innkeeper, Sandy Kauffman always welcomes us warmly on our arrival. She goes out of her way to be helpful and is always willing to suggest things to do and restaurants at which... More

I spent my Thanksgiving through the Saturday after thanksgiving at this location. It's perfectly positioned in the town and allows for a close walk to town. This is a very quaint inn with a main house and a separate cottage. The decor is very Victorian (think floral wallpaper and crocheted doilies). The inn is maintained by a lovely staff and... More

We have stayed at the Highlawn several times and loved it every time. There's a wide selection of rooms, none of which are bad. Breakfast is a feast! Kitties are charming and will get up to as much trouble as they can get away with! East at Lot 12 Public House, a nice walk from here.
