I spent the weekend in the cabin named The Best of West Virginia. It was a two bedroom with two full baths. It was pretty clean and everything worked. In the reviews I read a complaint about there being a wood pellet stove rather than a fireplace. I like the wood pellet stove. They provided the pellets and all you had to do was pour them into the stove and flip a switch. Pretty simple and easy and it definitely made the cabin cozy. The hot tub was clean and private. The kitchen had enough kitchenware, but no coffee filters. We used paper towels as the filter the first morning and picked up coffee filters the next day. We left them there for the next guest. Overall, the weekend was a very nice, easy getaway.

We stayed in one of the treehouses and loved it. My boys loved it and thought it was really neat. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Close to restaurants and grocery store which was very convenient! We will definitely be staying there again!

I hate to leave a negative review, but I feel like my hand has been forced. I also dislike being negative right off the bat, so I’ll start off by saying that I had an amazing time at The Cabins of Pine Haven due to the person I spent my time with — not the cabin itself. I’m writing an in-depth review of this place, so others won’t fall victim to the misleading information found on the company’s website, as well as just generally terrible customer service. Unclean Spider webs: In the master bedroom, we were lying in bed, when we looked over and saw a huge spider web in the corner of the room, directly to the left of my head and above the lamp on the nightstand. Dust: I also turned on the ceiling fan in the living room, then realized dust was flying everywhere, which goes to show you that these cabins don’t get dusted very often. Cigarette butts: There were cigarette butts all over the ground right behind the back deck. Ash trays: There were ashtrays, which were not only neglected by vacationers, but also by the staff. These things were buckets, found both on the back deck and the front porch, filled with some sort of nasty goo. Attack of the pine needles: There’s trees all-around these cabins, which adds to the aesthetic and I’m certainly not complaining about. However, you will track pine needles into your cabin, especially if you get any use out of the hot tub. Therefore, it would be nice if they had some sort of rugs in place at both entryways, which would cut down on the amount of pine needles you track in. The “Fireplace” Is False Advertisement (And What They Did Have Was Broken) The official company website likes to boast a fireplace as one of the amenities featured in their cabins, but this simply is untrue. In reality, they have what’s called a “Wood Pellet Stove,” which is not even close to being the same thing as a fireplace. So, if you want to play out that romantic scene in your head of yourself and your partner snuggled up on a blanket in front of a fireplace, you won’t be doing it at The Cabins at Pine Haven. In addition to this, the wood pellet stove didn’t even work, which brings me to my next point: The Terrible Customer Service First, I’d like to say that the lady who checked us in was very nice. I believe her name was Ally, so kudos to you, Ally. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the other woman I dealt with. This woman, whom I unfortunately primarily dealt with, was courteous when she thought I was a pending client, but when she found out I was already a guest in the cabins, her tune changed drastically, as she’d already received my money. You see, we had to call in maintenance for the wood pellet stove. The maintenance man showed up and was unable to get the stove in working order, saying that he talked to his manager and they may be able to “get to it tomorrow.” The maintenance worker also went on to say that his manager “does not consider this a priority.” Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I were checking out the next day. When leaving, I was asked how our stay was and I mentioned that this was a bummer, because, when I picture staying at a cabin, I picture being in a hot tub and being in front of a fireplace with my girlfriend. So, what was the lady at Pine Haven’s response? “Maybe next time.” When I’m paying nearly $500 for 43 hours in a cabin (check-in is at 4pm, check-out is at 11am), I don’t want to be told that I won’t receive what I paid for and, essentially, if I don’t like it, that’s just tough. The temperature hit 60 degrees both nights we were there and some nights are going to hit 50 degrees this week. Winter is coming. This Company Cheaped Out The television remote was covered in tape, as it had been broken and instead of getting a new one, they just taped it back together. This would be acceptable if I was in fourth grade spending the night at my best friend’s house, but not what I’d expect out of a “luxury cabin.” The kitchen utensils were cheap, with some being barely useable — I’m looking at you, ladle. There were no coffee filters included, despite there being a coffee pot. No Privacy I rented “the most private 2br cabin,” which may be true, but it certainly wasn’t private. We were surrounded by numerous cabins from all angles, except for in the back — that was reserved for the office, which was in full view. As a matter of fact, our hot tub was in complete view of another cabin’s front porch. There’s also a huge window in the vaulted ceiling, which adds to the beauty of the cabin, but lessens your privacy greatly, because the cabin directly in front of ours has the same window in the top of their cabin. Therefore, you can see into each other’s cabin. If you’re staying in the loft, you can be seen anytime you’re in there, as there’s no door or anything to block anyone’s view. Also, we could literally see the town from our cabin and could hear sirens throughout the day and night. This isn’t very comforting when you’re trying to enjoy a cabin getaway and trying to convince yourself of some sort of seclusion. Constant Threats of Extra Fees This place loves money and they make it glaringly obvious. There’s rules posted all over the cabin, with threats included that state if you break any of them, you’ll be charged an extra fee ranging from $25 - $100. If you break a serious rule, you’ll be asked to leave and you won’t be given a refund. I saw this mentioned in another review before leaving for my stay at Pine Haven. Someone mentioned not being allowed to touch any of the settings on the hot tub, unless you want to be charged an extra $100. Now, I didn’t see this rule mentioned anywhere in the cabin, but I was so scared to touch anything that I had no idea there was a whirlpool feature on the hot tub until the last day I was there, when my girlfriend finally pushed one of the buttons on the hot tub. There’s No Grill… Kinda We were told that there was a place to grill out at the cabin. Technically, this is correct, but I think we all have a vision of what a grill looks like in our head. Well, you can wipe that from your mind, because they have those generic grills you see in public parks off to the side of the cabin, which definitely hadn’t seen any upkeep in a very long time. They Spam You… In Your Own Cabin Want to get away from it all, only to still be faced with real life spam? Stay at Pine Haven. You’ll find spam on the walls. Seriously, they have ads in picture frames on the walls. The advertisements pull you out of your fantasy and crash you right back down to reality. All of this, because they clearly have some sort of partnership with these companies and they want to make more money off of you, which in turn takes away from the “homey” feeling you’d love to have on a cozy cabin getaway. Overall I think it was a major bummer to be treated the way they treat you at The Cabins at Pine Haven. I purchased something and was told it was “not a priority,” to receive what I purchased; plain and simple. It was a priority for them when it came to taking my money. Could you imagine paying for a meal at a restaurant, then when it’s delivered, you only received half of it? Not only this, but when you ask for the rest of your meal, you’re told that it isn’t a priority? And then when you never receive the other half of your meal, you’re told “maybe next time?” Unfortunately, there won’t be a next time.

My daughter booked a cabin and gazebo for my granddaughters wedding. She was told by one staff member that we could rehearse Saturday evening, when we arrived and started rehearsing, Abby came up and told us to leave that we were not to be on property that the building was rented, my daughter tried to explain what she had been told by the other staff member, but Abby was not willing to listen calling her mother and father who run the cabins.I told her we would leave and we had started leaving the premises when Abby once again got rude and threatened to call the police, no one had said anything we were in the process of getting in our cars, when mom and dad came down, immediately threatening to cancel the reservation all over a miscommunication and Abby trying to be more important than she was in front of her boyfriend. We were back in my yard when I get a phone call that we are harassing them, I have ring doorbell time stamped that all of our party was in my yard and driveway, but we were told we had 20 minutes to vacate or the police would be called. My granddaughters wedding could have and should have been so much more enjoyable had Abby not caused so many unnecessary problems. Cabin was very clean Michael was a huge help, but of you deal with Abby record everything.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at one of the two bedroom cabins for my birthday weekend. It was a beautiful cabin equipped with everything needed to cook full meals. Linens and beds were very comfy and clean as well as the overall living space. The hot tub is a great perk, although it was missing some parts, it did the job! The place needed a few minor repairs for insurance the dishwasher was broken. But other than that the place was lovely and will definitely stay again! Easy check in process with code to get into your cabin. 5 stars!
