A little hidden jem in Yakima, Janie is beyond helpful, staff is friendly. The place is NOT a chain, it's new, super clean, unique. So glad we happened to find it. Very convenient access to freeways as well. If you are looking for a place in the area - this is it!

The room was mostly excellent. Very clean, nicely appointed. Was very nice to have a kitchen-type alcove with lots of cabinet and counter space, plus its own sink (microwave, refrigerator and Keurig in room). The two problems I encountered: 1)temperature regulation: water temperatures in shower and sink fluctuated greatly and startlingly; the HVAC unit was not very efficient at keeping the room warm, and this was February in Yakima(!); 2) After the first night of a two-night stay, the room was not cleaned until well after 4:00 PM. Hotel-provided breakfast was bland. Still, the room was comfortable and clean and I felt safe. The price seemed too high given that it was not within walking distance of the convention center or Yakima Avenue, where most of the better dining is.

What a great redo on this older motel. Very fresh and bright ! Modern with a youthful flare!
Felt good in this place compared to others we stayed in at similar prices. Busy highway nearby but very good at soundproofing the place. Could also hear the train a bit thru the night. Husband had no issue ! Love the set up with coffee and fridge and armoire unit. Only issue would be having winter coats hung up as there is no actual closet. Nice touch with decent coffee in room ! Staff were most pleasant and cheerful. Breakfast was very sufficient and suits most well. Healthier style muffins and breads would be more appreciated by this gal but ....can’t complain! The only negative we had (and could have been an absolute oversight) was the lack of cleaning in bathroom. Toilet was unclean, powder residue on tank and tub hadn’t been rinsed. Otherwise this place was a welcome gem! I truly feel the price will increase as the guests increase and this is a way of getting “good news” out. That said....enjoy it !

I have stayed at Hotel Y 3 times, the first time in August, 2020. I chose it then because it had outside doors for each room and its website showed strong Covid-19 protocols. I would have given it 4 stars. There were problems the 2nd time but I still felt safe from Covid-19. The third time was 3 days ago. Our room was not ready (we were not early). We noticed that the staff cleaning rooms were not masked (Besides us, we saw only one other masked person while we were there). It happened that the unmasked cleaners assigned to our room came into the lobby for their assignment. I asked if they were vaccinated (Washington still requires unvaccinated people to wear masks in public indoor spaces). They feigned ignorance. Hotel Y's plan was that they would hurry their cleaning and we would immediately enter the room. I mentioned that every time I had stayed somewhere during the pandemic they required 2-4 hours between cleaning and guests entering. My daughter, who had reserved the room this time, said "I can't stay here." We cancelled our reservation. We were in Yakima visiting my 96 year old father. We decided it wasn't safe for him if we stayed at Hotel Y.

I am very sorry for the last time you guys had reservations with us and had to cancel for safety reasons. I want to thank you for your feedback. This helps us fix issues we might be having and helps us provide better services to our guest. We are disinfected everything in each room, making sure all the surfaces are cleaned and sanitized. Everyone is wearing masks even if they are vaccinated now. We are very sorry this happened to you. If there is something we can try to help with please don't hesitate to reach out to us at The Hotel Y. Thank you Sonya, Operations Manager

This was a surprisingly quiet room, especially considering it was fully booked up and a busy road going by. Updated room with everything in good shape. Breakfast was included with biscuits and gravy, waffles, small packaged cereals, some breads, milk, juice and coffee. There is a small pool, but of course, nobody cares in winter.
I knocked it down a star because there were a dozen or so hairs in the bathtub, meaning they didn't clean it at all, so you wonder what else did the cleaners not touch (no tip for you). There were also leftovers in the mini-fridge, but that one I could have overlooked. If they get the cleaning up to par, then this place will be an excellent find for the price.

We had adjoining rooms as we travelled for a youth tournament with and I took other kids with me. The rooms were remodeled, spacious with a small fridge and microwave to make snacks easy. The location was right near the freeway with easy access to where we needed to be. The staff was very responsive and friendly with a good variety of breakfast (even during COVID restrictions) that were all within the guidelines. It was the perfect stay for our needs and we will definitely be staying there again.

If you value really clean, well-maintained hotel rooms, this hotel is great! It has a modern interior, exceptionally cool A/C, and a bed that offers a perfect blend of softness and firmness. While the breakfast options could use some enhancements, you can still make waffles or warm up their breakfast sandwiches/ burritos. The location isn’t ideal for walking, so having a car or bringing your own food is ideal. Overall, this hotel stands out as one of the better ones in this area but you will see some stragglers at the gas station nearby and there appears to be a lot of unfinished road work that looks like it's going to take years to complete. I'd really suggest staying in during the evenings or driving elsewhere for dinner. It’s quiet at night and conveniently located right off the exit for those just passing through.

Here we were guests for one night in September, on arrival we were irritated, it is clearly a motel and not a hotel, even if the name suggests otherwise.
However, the facility has been renovated for the most part in recent years, the room and bathroom were very clean, the bed really excellent and the breakfast for American standards in order.
Unfortunately, it is unfortunately very noisy, we had a room on the first floor and have heard every step from above, due to the single glazing you can also hear the street noise, sleep was only possible with earplugs.
And who, please, came up with this idiotic operation of the shower? You actually have to have studied and have a doctorate to get the shower to work.
The last two points then also prevent a better rating.

Enjoyed our stay for 2 nights. Sonja at the front desk provided excellent customer service. She was helpful in recommending wineries, local sights and gave plenty of other information. Always courteous and making sure our questions were answered. Very nice room decor and modern, convenient location from freeway, quiet, and compliments to the free breakfast. Such a wide range of food choices including to go sandwiches! Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations!😉
