Wonderful duplex suite with well equipped kitchen, lovely temperature controlled fireplace, plentiful pillows, cozy chairs, excellent breakfasts! Great spot for cross country skiing! Almost tame deer picturesquely munching on grounds. Lovely!

Response from Kelsey Young, General Manager at Chewuch Inn & Cabins
Responded Jan 17, 2024
Janice, Thank you for sharing your experience! We are glad that you enjoyed your room and our breakfast! We love to be considered off the beaten path but still the best base camp location! Being so close to the Community Trailhead many guests walk right over and just start skiing. We almost consider the deer our pets after a while because they love to sleep under our apple trees! we hope to have you back!

We have been coming to Chewuch Inn for many years now. The rooms are super clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast is amazing. Always plenty of gourmet egg dishes (quiche-like, or omlette like, baked and delicious). Scones, muffins, breakfast bread, cereals, fruit, juice, coffee, tea. It's all very good. Fresh cookies and hot cider for the evening too. The location is close to Winthrop, and there is a community trail you can walk to get downtown in about 10-15 minutes. Wear good boots if the snow is on the ground ;-)

Being that we own a EV (Bolt), our first priority is to find an accommodation that offers an EV charger that works for us (non-Tesla). The Chewuch Inn passed that first hurdle and then our second most important priority is how sustainable the property appears to be by reading their information on the web site. Again, the Chewuch Inn passed!
And, of course, in the time of COVID especially, we always seek a kitchen or kichenette so we can eat some meals and snacks that we tote along with us.
We stayed in the Dorothy cabin and LOVED it. Not only was it clean, the kitchen supplies were perfect for us to enjoy our meals, except breakfast which was delivered HOT to our door each morning.
Location was great as you can walk into town within 10 minutes but still quiet. A perfect place to explore and hike/ski the area.
And, not to mention that their movie library blew us away!

We had a great stay at the Chewuch Inn at one of their cabins and highly recommend staying at this property. While challenging times due to COVID and wildfires, our stay was socially distant yet really organized, and made for a great break. The cabin was incredibly clean, well equipped, modern and bright with a comfy bed and hot tub out back. It was also nicely located close to town yet quiet and private. The management was highly organized as well with breakfast ordered via written form and delivered at a specific time, and was fresh, hot, local and delicious! There was great care and thoughtfulness toward their guests that really came through with all the details looked out for. We unfortunately stayed at a different hotel earlier in the week that despite being a well known four diamond resort had significant cleanliness and customer service issues - so moving to the Chewuch really was a great move and big upgrade! It helped save our vacation. I would definitely return!

We stayed 3 nights in a queen cabin. It was very clean, furnished, cozy, well insulated for the winter etc. Wouldn't change a thing or call out any issues. Great accommodations. Cabin had a queen bed and pull-out single sofa. Great for a couple, could make it worth with one child. We liked the environmentally friendly atmosphere. They did not use a lot of the disposable one time use items that many chain hotels use. They offered locally roasted coffee and other local amenities. Loved it!

My wife and I recently spent two nights at the Chewuch Inn and Cabins. We had a cabin and it was cozy, clean, comfortable, and perfect for all of our needs. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially considering the fact that we received two feet of fresh snow overnight and they had the walkways and driveway cleared in no time.
The Inn and Cabins are close to the ski trails and town. We walked to the trailhead for skiing and then visited shops in town—never found the need to use our car.
The Inn's homed cooked breakfast is simply outstanding—the food is five-star as is the service. My wife and I plan to return this year and next the the Chewuch Inn and Cabins.
Kudos to the owners for running such a class operation!

This was our first time staying here. The Inn was absolutely beautiful. It was very clean, very well appointed and had everything a traveler needed! We loved that they provided TWO luggage racks, plenty of towels, lots of drinking glasses, coat hangers and hooks just inside the door to hang wet things. The bathroom was well appointed and had lots places to hang towels. Loved that there were SO many windows which we could open. We slept with the windows fully open enjoying the wind in the trees all night.
Breakfast was a bit early for us (8-9:30a) but it was WELL WORTH getting up! The daily egg dishes were delicious, the baked goods were creative and tasty. Everything was laid out well, lots of signage as to what things were, and lots of employees keeping the buffet area clean and well stocked.
I cannot say ONE bad thing about this Inn! We already hope that we can return in the Fall. It was the most relaxing 3 nights we have had in many years!

Enjoyable experience for our first return to traveling since Covid. They do maintain precautions within the main building which was appreciated. Breakfast was delivered right to your room with several items to choose from their menu that you turn in the night before. The baked egg preparations were very tasty and their homemade granola. We stayed in the Pasayten (2 Queen beds) within the main inn and was pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness that we had. Bath and body products were a cut above the normal tiny samples you receive in a regular hotel. I felt quite pampered. The room was clean, and our stay was very restful, they were mindful of respecting your privacy and the quiet from being away from the main part of downtown we found delightful. Bags of the Lariat coffee, which we enjoyed brewing each morning, is available to purchase along with other souvenir items produced by local artists. It was a very enjoyable experience , the staff helpful and pleasant. I enjoyed having a brief chat with Dan, who is one of the owners of this facility. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and enjoy more of this beautiful area in Winthrop.

This was the second time we have stayed at Chewuch Inn and Cabins...the first time we stayed in one of the queen bed cabins but this time we splurged and rented cabin 16 with the king bed and hot tub. After skiing all day, it sure was nice so soak in the hot tub. The cabin perfect for us...a full little kitchen with stove and refrig and all the plates and utensils you need. A gas fireplace really warmed up the rooms. The bed was super comfortable and the entire cabin spotless. Breakfast each day was brought to our cabin and was delicious...when you are done, place everything on your doorstep and it is picked up. Very friendly and helpful staff, we love Betty. And the location was just a few minutes from downtown and close to local trails. This is our spot when we come to Winthrop.

We love going each year to the Methow Valley to enjoy the fabulous cross country skiing trails. And of course can't forget the opportunity to let the kids play in the snow and go sledding. We always stay at the Chewuch Inn and have always been treated with excellent hospitality by the entire staff and they now even know us by name. The breakfasts are fabulous and offer a great way to fuel up for snow shoeing and cross country skiing. The rooms are very clean and well kept (as a mom of two I very much appreciate this). Rooms are cozy and beds comfortable. We love the cabins as they offer kitchenettes or full kitchens so you can eat in if you are like us and tire quickly of eating out while traveling. Chewuch Inn is conveniently located near downtown Winthrop and is an easy drive to trails in Mezama and Sun Mountain. We also can't say enough good things about the local Cascade Outdoors in downtown Winthrop that has been very helpful with ski rentals for us/the kids as needed whenever we have been there. And on our last trip the Methow Valley Ciderhouse was quite the find (worth a visit)!

Hi Pandbweller1,
We include the word "cabin" in the description. If it is not referred to as a cabin, it is a room. If you need clarification at any time, please do not hesitate to call us 8am - 8pm. Thanks for the question.
Yes we do. We cover the entire five acres of property surrounding the Inn and Cabins with wifi.
There's no smoking in the room of course, but outside would be allowed I would think. Give them a call to be sure, very nice owners
