My family and I travel to Winthrop regularly and have stayed here multiple times in the past. Always a great experience. However, upon staying here during Presidents weekend we arived in our cabin very late at night to find an infestiation of bugs. No manager answered or responded to our calls. We were left stranded in the middle of the night. The next day we were told they would try to clean the room but when we returned to the room it was still heavily infested with bugs. When we told the clerk we would like to leave they informed us they would still charge us for the entirety of our reservation. Incredbly, they admitted they knew the room was infested with bugs prioir to arrival date and yet no one contacted us to tell us this. So we traveled many hours through dangerous conditions to a rrive in the middle of the night to a room infested with bugs, the hotel knew we would be arriving to a room infested with buigs, and yet no one said anything and they are attempting to charge us for the whole stay. We had unpacked our things upon arriving and then once we noticed the bugs we had to feverishly try to get our kids to a clean space and clean bugs off all our things while bugs are crawling all over the walls, kitchen counters, appliances sink and ceiling. Sound incredible? We agree. In all our lives we have never encountered a situation like this. We will be filing a claim due to our belief the attempt to charge us for the room amounts to fraud and we strongly reccomend buyer beware with this property. i am sure many travelers probably have an okay stay. But ask yourself if you want to take even a remote chance on a stay with a company that may knowing put you and your children in a room with bugs and charge you for your whole reservation.

We stayed in a cabin with one bedroom and a loft for one night. We booked through a third party online, and were fortunate to get the cabin for a single night, as most hotel / cabin rentals in the area required a 2-night minimum stay. It was lovely! Spotlessly clean, and well-equipped. It had an outdoor / fishing themed decor. There was a washer and dryer (with detergent!) in the cabin. The only drawback, which is no fault of the hotel, is that the lovely back porch which overlooks the river, also overlooks the highway (the cabins are on one side of the river, and the highway is on the other). The staff were very friendly, and gave great advice about places to go in town. The main street / drag is a quick walk away. There was a lovely bakery, a few good restaurants, and a cider mill / restaurant with a band. The whole town was beautiful and welcoming. Breakfast was included. It was basic, but good —- eggs, bacon, cereal, etc. The only thing I wanted, but couldn’t get, was ketchup for my scrambled eggs. My love of eggs with ketchup must be a Canadian thing 😊. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed there one night and it was well worth it. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The bed was really comfortable and the the location was really connvemiemt. Another couple was with us on this trip and they had the same opinion. We would definitely stay there again. A good value.

I have mixed emotions on this one review. First the good: 1. Really good location walking distance to the town. 2. Very pretty view of the river with nice chairs on the balcony overlooking the river. 3. Clean and well appointed room with comfortable bed, nice shower, wood floors. Opportunities for Improvement: 1. They charge per person for more than two people in the room. If I pay a substantial rate for a room with two beds, I don't believe it's fair to charge extra for family. This is petty and unnecessary. 2. While they have a good homemade breakfast, they do not have it available until 8am. Worse, they have no coffee available until 8am also. I want to get up and enjoy the nature earlier than that and would like to have the included breakfast or at least a coffee sooner than 8am. Staff was in the office by 6:30am, I recommend at least picking up a box of coffee on their way into the office to offer to early rising guests. 3. For the price, I am not sure this is worth the stay. We paid over $250 per night (again for a max of two people) and a promised breakfast that we didn't end up staying for because we wanted to get into the mountains early.

These 10 yr old cabins are super clean, modern with cabin decor, well supplied and spacious. Great view of river with walking path to rivers edge. Winthrop is a 6 minute walk over a walking bridge. Super friendly staff. Looking forward to going back. There are no fireplaces but we were there in the summer.
