Hotel Murano stands out for its artistic ambiance and modern decor, a feature that has garnered appreciation from guests who also enjoy its prime location near dining, nightlife, and event venues. However, some travelers have expressed dissatisfaction with the room conditions, noting outdated elements and functional issues. While opinions on service are divided, with commendations for friendliness on one hand and frustrations on the other, the general consensus suggests that the hotel might not offer the best value, particularly due to the additional cost of parking and unmet expectations for room rates.

This place was beautiful, very clean and super comfy. The view from the room was gorgeous and the check in process was super quick and easy and they let us check in a bit earlier. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were quiet and relaxing. Definitely a place I look forward to coming back to.

This hotel in Tacoma has remarkable decor and ambience on each floor. The art on each floor is wonderful. Its restaurant and room service menu will delight the appetite. The rooms are nicely appointed, and modest in size. I suggest Patron King suite or larger Patron level corner rooms (24th - 26th floors) for more space and great views. Also, the Patron level rooms have breakfast included and 24 hour available snacks and beverages in the Patron Level Lounge. Great hotel for business stays and personal getaways! I always enjoy my stay at this hotel. No disappointments here.

My wife, our 2 dogs, and I stayed at Hotel Murano from June 27th to June 29th, 2022. We wanted to visit the nearby National Parks so choosing to stay in Tacoma made the most sense for us.

Upon entering this hotel, it felt like walking into a modern art gallery or museum. There were pieces of art all around the lobby areas (paintings, drawings, sculptures, etc.).

This hotel also has 2 complimentary Tesla Destination chargers (and one regular J1772 charger) available for hotel guests. We took full advantage of that amenity to fully charge up our Model Y overnight on each of nights we stayed here.

We stayed in Room 1000 on the 10th floor and it was a corner room located at the end of the hallway after exiting the elevator. The room itself was super spacious and the decor was very contemporary with pieces of art in the room. Even the lamps on the nightstands looked "artsy".

We would definitely stay at this hotel again since they are pet friendly and centrally located between Olympic National Park and Mount Rainier National Park.

Here for the GAS conference booked long in advance. Emailed in advance to indicate I couldn't make it for Sat that was booked with the tour but would be in Sunday just to ensure they wouldn't cancel the room. Arrived Sunday and the room was cancelled. No laundry service ( I was depending on what they advertised since I wanted to pack light and just get things cleaned), no room cleaning unless you ask for it 24 hrs in advance, they didn't notice they were only giving rooms conditioner. I arrived at the room with conditioning shampoo but when that ran out all they had was "apres-shampoo" clearly named "conditioner" which they are passing off as shampoo. Bar server....super nice but they are forgetting drink orders, food orders, both at bar and at restaurant. Hotel is so short staffed that there are long waits for breakfast and they only open at 7am since they're so short staffed. Staff are super nice despite having to work with no one to help. Heard about constant issues with rooms. Mold, leaking refrigerators (my carpet in front of it was soaked), leaking dripping ice machines on every floor. Work out room had a broken treadmill, leaving only 1 in service. Other than these things, hotel would have been fine. Beware of rooms behind elevators. Very loud

We paid $320 for one night in a suite. The room was comfortable and large but the furnishing was not at all "4-star" level. There was an intermittent banging noise coming from the pipes in the walls. We heard 10 seconds of a noise that sounded like an old steam train in the walls, 1-5 times an hour. There were no other suites available so we had to stay in that room. A hotel engineer came to our room to help but could not solve the issue because the noise did not happen in the time he waited to hear the noise. When I asked the concierge if we could be refunded part of our bill due to the noise, they gave me a voucher for free parking (which would have cost $20 more) and a $20 breakfast voucher. Breakfast for 4 at the hotel cost $65 so we ended up spending an extra $45 at the hotel to use the voucher. I emailed and called Murano several times to get some of our payment refunded but the organization insisted that free parking and $20 off of breakfast was adequate.

The bottom line is that the Murano hotel does not take care of their customers in the way you would might expect a nice hotel would. Maybe going to a chain hotel would be better since they have a reputation to maintain. If there is anything wrong with your room at Murano, the staff has their hands tied and cannot do much to help you out.

A sign of a great hotel is not just how comfortable it is or the features it offers but the level of customer service. On the first two attributes this hotel checks the mark. Located downtown I was able to stroll the streets easily walking to wherever I wanted to go. The room was a little dated but comfortable and had a great view of the water and mountains.

Now for the third attribute. Unfortunately our sleep in the hotel was not great. About 1:30 in the morning a group of drunk folks were making a lot of noise outside our door and were so loud we could hear them in the room next door. I tried calling the front desk but it went to voice mail with no response. After ear plugs and time we were able to get back to sleep. When I told the person at the front desk she was sincerely apologetic. She ended up comping the drinks we had at the bar, parking and gave us a discount on the room. It wasn’t their fault on the noise but I appreciated how she took responsibility to rectify the problem. Great customer service!

The hotel facility is decent, but the service leaves much to be desired. I am here on business and checked in for 6 nights. Last night, which is night number 2 for me, there was a fire in the hotel and apparently some of their offices flooded. Alarms were going off all night so there was no way to get sleep. In addition, there was a periodic strange and loud noise coming from my in-wall heat/AC unit. It would last about 30 seconds and was going on every 4-5 minutes. When I called the hotel around 2 AM to find out the situation, I was told “there is nothing we can do about all the noise. You are welcome to check out and go to another hotel.” At 2 AM, this is not the kind of comment you make to a guest who is trying to figure out how long the fire/flood related noise might go on.

In addition to the noise, there was no running water all night. Room was stuffy and heat/AC had to be turned off due to the noise. Electricity was coming and going. There was no WiFi. In the morning today, WiFi is still cutting in and out constantly. Water is back on, but is brown now.

So, I decide to check out early. This is where the hotel could have stepped up and made the process painless and shown understanding. Instead, they make me jump through more hoops. Just spent the last hour on the phone with my credit card company to have them take care of cancelling the rest of the nights and get a refund for the previous night because the hotel refused to. What they should have done was also refund the initial night I spent here. I believe that would have been the right thing to do for the inconvenience of last night and of this morning. Instead of doing work, I am on the phone for the last hour with my credit card company; and now also having to scramble to find another hotel. Of course, due to last minute booking, all hotels are much more expensive than what I paid here. None of that is the hotel’s concern, and they made it quite clear.

The fire and flooding may not have been within their control, but making the situation right certainly was. They were clearly more concerned about hanging onto as much of what I have paid them as they could than to make sure that their guests don’t end up bearing the brunt of a bad situation that certainly was not in the guests’ control. Very poor service and attitude. Would strongly advise staying away from this hotel.

We were thoroughly happy with our stay. The hotel is unassuming but provided the perfect conveniences - free and lots of parking, a minute off the 5 freeway, few minutes walk to a great restaurants, 5 minute drive to waterfront restaurants, 2 hotel restaurants perfect for breakfast and dinner and a bar for that nightcap. It was also less than a 10- minute drive to our family who lives there. We originally booked 4 nights then was to stay with family, but the conveniences and room rates for extending 4 more nights outweighed time with family :) Definitely will be staying here again when we return in a few months.

Also, we stayed on the Patron level for an additional $25 (?) per night as they offered snacks and drinks complimentary. Although I thought there would be some fresh fruits/veggies, I realized because of COVID, this was not offered, but we enjoyed it and it proved to be convenient when leaving for the day and returning at night.

I would give zero stars if I could. I was best man for friend's wedding Saturday June 25 and Murano was close to the ceremony and got largely positive reviews. We were quite literally unable to sleep more than 5-10 minutes at a time due to the near-constant thumping and whirring/grinding noises from the elevator. In addition to this, every time the air conditioner cycled on (this was a necessity on a 88 degree day), the grate on the A/C vent physically lifts up and clangs back into place. We gave up trying to sleep around 6am, showered and left the hotel. Upon checkout, we spoke to reception staff who advised that they themselves couldn't do anything for us, but that management would be in at 330pm that day and they would give us a call to discuss. As of this writing (5 weeks later) I have not heard from anyone on their management team, and emails have been ignored. I was not expecting to be fully comped, partial concession would have been fine, or possibly would have settled for an apology, but nothing. I have stayed at many hotels, and at the price point of $300.00 a night, I would expect to at least be able to sleep. Conversely, based on other reviews about this very same issue, earplugs should be issued, or offered to guests staying in these rooms. I work for an agency that had previously referred guests to this location, but that is now done. Decidedly NOT recommended

This a lovely hotel with an amazing amount of glass art decor. Part of a private collection, each floor featured a different glass artist, exhibiting one of their works and showing the process in pictures along the hallway. I managed to see 21 floors of the 25, quite interesting. I stayed here for a conference which was held just down the street at the Greater Tacoma Conference Center. Check in was easy. I had a spacious double room with my sister that had comfortable full size beds (I think) with room to unpack for our 4 night stay. It had all the normal amenities. Lighting in the room was not very conducive to reading in bed. There was no pen or small tablet to make notes. The bathroom had this large fancy sink that splashed water all over the vanity and also did not drain properly. That was very annoying. There was a nice full size tub but the shower head was pointed straight down and it couldn't be adjusted so you had to pretty much stand on top of the drain. I generally liked the hotel. I can't speak to value because the room was comped by the conference I was attending. I would stay here again for the right price. We had 2 service requests. One was handled immediately and the other, although action was promised within a few minutes, was never fulfilled. Not a deal breaker but disappointing.

Customer service is always relevant to an experience and, thus, review. My experience was quite the contrary. My daughter and I couldn't have gotten better customer service. Your situation is unfortunate, but I wouldn't let it taint your consideration for a return visit.
