Please know if you are going for Golfing the the 9 hole has artificial astro turf Tee Boxes and Greens. It is a fun course and a ball eater with beautiful scenery. So why cheapened the course w/the artificial turf. The 18 hole putting green was astroturf also. But that is to be expected.
First time here and pretty disappointed. Most of the staff were fantastic. The views are great and the pool & hot tub are nice ! The food, if you can find the restaurant, and figure out which restaurant you're at, was terrible. We had reservations, but still had to wait quite a while just to see the hostess. Walk-ins getting seated ahead of us. The hostess was not remotely kind to us. The 15 dollar drinks were small, and so tart and sour, we could barely drink them. The kind server apologized for them even though we hadn't even said one word about them. The prime rib was supposed to be 10 ounces, but they were super thin and tiny. Way overcooked and tasted like they seasoned them with pepper and nothing else. Breakfast was OK, but barely better than the free continental breakfasts we get around the country. There's not good signage anywhere; totally unorganized. the room was way, way over-priced and unimpressive. Like a roadside hotel. Couldn't get out of there fast enough, but took us a few tours of the parking lots to find a way out. Finally had to drive the opposite direction of two one-way arrows to get out and it turns out, that is the correct way. We don't golf; perhaps the golf course is amazing, IDK. That could make everything else OK. The hiking trails were nice. …
Those employees continuing to work are making all the difference - a great place to stay and will be perfect when the rest of the staff decides to return to work. The property is beautiful with many amenities.
We loved beautiful views from the lodge backyard. Amazing food in the restaurant. Fitness and hiking trails on the territory of the lodge. We are not golfers, but still can appreciate how beautiful their golf course is. Despite all the minuses (see below) I can totally recommend this place. The price for our room without a view was ridiculously high. Sink in the bathroom was not draining well. Internet connection was terrible in the room. Even though food at the lodge is great, nothing was included in the room price and is also quite expensive. A fireplace adds a nice touch to a room, however, it’s really odd that you cannot turn it off completely. So during hot summer day it adds heat and gas smell to your room. Walls are very thin and we lived next to a room filled with 5-6 kids of different ages and they created A LOT of noice :(( Be prepared that their restaurant is understaffed so in the midweek they don’t sit people on the patio (only inside) and waiting times to get a table and then your order can be pretty long.…
The staff is the saving grace here. The food is very average and costly for what is delivered to your table. The rooms are nice and clean for the most part. Their website is not representative of their dining experience. Do go zip-lining and limit your dining to the deck in the lounge. The overall cost does not equal the value received.
