Coming to Marianna Stoltz House is like a step back in time. All the rooms have their own personalities... I love them all. Once I started coming here in 2014, I have never stopped. Phyllis the owner is full of love and passion of life. She hands are magical and can make any food simmer. She cooks with love and most people never leave the table. Just amazing!
Lots of antiques, house is kept to original design. Good breakfast, felt very welcomed by Phyllis the owner. Check in is at 4 pm, but could not find it on web site and forgot to ask. She was very gracious to let us check in half hour early though, as we were coming in out of the rain. Phyllis also is a wealth of knowledge about the area and gives good directions. We picked Ivy room, due to previous reviews that it would be the quieter of the rooms being in the back. Glad we did. Road out front can be quite busy/noisy at times, especially on a Saturday night due to college kids going by. It also was one of the only two that had it's own bathroom. Though the shower in the claw foot tub is not for everyone, it's cute.
We loved the Marianna Stoltz House! Yes, the pictures are real - an incredible breakfast is served daily on silver chargers in the beautiful dinning room. Phyllis, the hostess, makes you very comfortable and makes sure you have all you need. The house was lovely, felt very safe, and convenient to everything. We felt the price was very reasonable as it included the wonderful breakfasts. It was a lovely, comfortable house and we had a great time staying there.
We stayed at the Stoltz house on a trip from Seattle to Missoula. It was the perfect respite. Beautifully appointed, and our hostess was charming and welcoming. I felt like a queen in this Victorian period BandB. The "wow" factor was the breakfast, served on silver lining plates with fine china with excellent food. When I saw it waiting for us I almost cried, it was so beautiful. I will be sure to stay there any time I am in Spokane. In fact it is worth going to Spokane to stay there. And if you do, go to Frankie's Diner for lunch....it is a restored train car that makes the whole experience complete.
Victorian style B&B. Our room was comfortable & clean, king bed was great, the twin bed was not so comfy but it is very hard to find a B&B with 2 beds in a room. Only complaint was the bathroom was down the hall which I do not like. The good thing was my sister & i were the only guests there overnight, so no one else was using the bathroom. Some rooms do have their own bathroom. Phyllis was very accommodating & friendly. Breakfast was amazing
I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Marianna Stolz house and was very impressed! The home is beautiful and clean, and the beds are comfortable. My room was kind of small but had its own bathroom, which is preferable for me. My only complaint about the room is the noise from the street but there is not much that can be done about that. Phyllis provided me with a fan, which cut down on the noise quite a bit. The breakfast was delicious! My only suggestion would be to make some coffee available earlier than the breakfast (which was served promptly at 7:15). I am an early riser and love to have a cup of coffee before breakfast. A pitcher of ice water would be nice as well. Just suggestions, however, not complaints. I would recommend this B&B and would stay there again.…
We made a reservation with Phyllis over the phone for a busy weekend in Spokane. We were glad to find an opening and cancelled other alternate reservations and put plans in place to stay at the B&B. Later in the week, Phyllis sent us an email indicating that they have a 3-night minimum stay for that time period. She went on to say that if we didn't respond and say that we were extending our stay, that she would be canceling our reservation. We responded and asked that she reconsider honoring the reservation we made with her, but she never answered our email. It was quite disappointing that she would not honor the reservation. I would have hoped for better customer service.
Our room was very pleasant and clean. We had the en suite room and the bathroom was nice and also clean. The owner was helpful and friendly without being nosy or overbearing. The common areas are charmingly Victorian in style. The location is convenient--close to Gonzaga University and the main thoroughfares of Spokane. The food was out of this world and was a new surprise each morning.
This property is an elegant reminder of years past. One can envision horses & buggies passing by on the wide street. The hostess is warm and friendly, the breakfast was very good, and the room while small was comfortable. We would stay here again.
Clean, comfortable, friendly, good location for shopping, Gonzaga University, parks and activities, and good breakfast. A grand old house with charm. Convenient parking and quiet neighborhood. Next time we're in town, we would stay here.
