The Historic Davenport, Autograph Collection, earns praise for its spacious and elegant rooms steeped in historical charm, though a few guests have raised concerns over cleanliness and upkeep. Its central location is popular for its easy access to attractions, despite occasional noise disturbances. While the hotel's ambiance, bolstered by live music and grand decor, is celebrated, some travelers feel that the value falls short, pointing to discomfort and unexpected charges. The staff is generally commended for their professionalism, yet service can be hit-or-miss. Amenities like valet and concierge services are well-regarded, but some guests were dissatisfied with room service and in-room conveniences.

I had a disappointing experience at a five-star luxury hotel, to put it mildly. I accidentally left two vials of insulin in the fridge, and they were discarded because "they were out of the fridge." The manager I spoke with today at 15:30 stated that the hotel is not obligated to notify me when my lost item is found. This makes me question the purpose of a lost and found if they do not intend to contact the person who reported the lost item. This hotel was previously my preferred choice, but after this incident, I am deterred from staying there ever again. The disposal of crucial medication indicates to me a lack of safety and concern for guests. Moreover, the apparent discriminatory behavior towards guests with accents only adds to my dissatisfaction, making me feel unwelcome and mistreated.

We stay at the wonderful HIstoric Davenport regularly. Each stay is consistently comfortable and quality with exceptional customer service. Front Office Assistant Manager, Shyesta Kennedy, is particularly helpful, positive and so accommodating. We always appreciate Shyesta's smile, kindness and service.

I am so grateful for Allen at switchboard taking multiple of my calls, and Stephanie one as well, as we were panicked with a family medical emergency. Xavier at the front desk then took those multiple calls--we became emergency friends! Then when we arrived, Jacob took good care of checking us in at 2am, even offering late checkout without my even asking. He also ordered a rollaway bed quickly. All this did lesson my stressed out moment, even though I'm not sure any of them could tell that. This hotel is absolutely GORGEOUS in that Gilded Age time period. I only wish I would have had time to enjoy it more. Thank you thank you to these wonderful staff members.

My partner and I chose The Historic Davenport in Spokane for our 22nd wedding anniversary, expecting a memorable stay steeped in the charm and high standards often associated with such an esteemed property. We have stayed and at all the Davenport Properties. The Davenport Historical is supposed to be the most elegant and the most extraordinary service for $300 a night for single king room. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we anticipated, leading me to share both the peaks and valleys of our visit. The hotel has service issues, staffing issues from the front to the back, unstable rooms, old outdated and subpar accommodation from the bed covering to the furniture, and the deficiencies are evident from the rooms, The Peacock lounge, Palm Court , Lobby and the Tower Safari room across the street. Even room service in the morning was not available because you had to order takeout from the Palm Court. It’s basically self service with a fee and all employees avoid guests because they are overworked and not appreciated. Nothing has been updated or restored in 20 years since it opened. We wished we took pictures but hard to take photos on service not provided. The good? The Davenport still carries an air of historic elegance, and its architecture is truly a sight to behold. However, the essence of hospitality that should complement such grandeur was notably absent. Upon check-in, our special occasion went unacknowledged despite prior notification. This lack of personal touch was our first hint that our stay might not meet our expectations. Don’t expect the world famous peanut brittle or chocolates. Worst welcome in 22 years with hundreds of stays in hotels. I’ve had better luck with the Kiosk. Our room, 328, was directly above the kitchen's HVAC system, subjecting us to constant noise and vibrations that could only be described as unbearable with vertigo. An attempt to change rooms was initially met with what felt like indifference from the front desk staff. Eventually, we were moved to room 922, but the damage to our spirits was already done. Service throughout the hotel seemed to struggle under the weight of demand. The staff, though likely doing their best, appeared overwhelmed, leading to a lack of the attentive service one might expect at a hotel of this caliber. In the Peacock Lounge, for example, we found ourselves navigating a self-service scenario amid a visibly disorganized and dirty bar area. The cocktails, priced at $18, were underwhelming in both presentation, sad taste, and the experience was marred by the use of unclean glasses. It was not an elegant moment to stand in line to order with your wife on your anniversary and get a sub par drink. Our attempt to enjoy a special breakfast the next morning was thwarted by a 1 ½ hour wait at the Palm Court, and then direct to the Safari Room across the street with similar situations with staff and service, it prompting us to seek alternatives elsewhere. We ended up giving away our $20 dollar amenities fee to a family. It is placed on your bill as a service we should use because we had to pay for it. This was particularly disappointing that we were unappreciated , felt unwelcome, hungry, not rested or restored and we left earlier than we expected. A few tips for future guests: If you're looking for a quiet room, specifically request. Consider exploring dining options outside the hotel to avoid long waits and potentially disappointing service. In conclusion, while The Historic Davenport boasts architectural beauty and a rich history, our anniversary stay was overshadowed by service shortcomings and a general sense of neglect. This visit, meant to celebrate a significant milestone, instead served as a reminder that even the most storied hotels must not rest on their laurels but continually strive to provide an experience that matches their reputation.

What a beautiful historic hotel! I usually don't care for over-the-top opulence (gold bathroom fixtures; no thank you) but here it totally works. The hotel common areas are elegant but I still felt comfortable in casual clothing. The service was exceptionally nice, from the check-in folks to Scott, our very knowledgeable bellman. Our room was surprisingly spacious for an older hotel, with plenty of room to unpack and store suitcases. The gold fixtures in the bathroom even looked right! Bed was pretty squishy and the pillows went flat easily, but there were lots of them. Location can't be beat, with a short stroll down to the Riverfront Park and main shopping area. We didn't take advantage of the indoor pool, but went down to check it out and regretted not bringing our suits, as it was nice and warm in the pool area.

First of all, we payed over $200 for a basic 2 queen room. We requested a roll away for our teen daughter and they charged us $30. This is a free addition in way lower rated hotels like comfort or quality inns. So that already was frustrating. Upon arrival the female that checked us in was distracted and unfriendly she told me right away our mattress probably wssnt there yet so need have to call. We checked in at 7:30 pm. Once in our room there was no mattress as expected but there was also NO shampoo in the refillable bottles and NO conditioner. The lotion was 90% gone. We called again about the mattress 1.5 hours later and notified them again of the no toiletries. They finally brought the mattress with no extra blanket or pillows. Still no shampoo. At this point it’s just embarrassing. So we go To dinner. Once there it waiter gave us one of the most awkward experiences we’ve had. He made odd comments to our daughter and when she asked what sorbet was he said it’s like ice cream but gross and for diabetics. Which is so far from the truth. I lost my father to diabetes so the intent of the joke fell flat and was just not needed. Our food was bland. SO bland.. I’m sure other patrons of the restaurant are supplying similisr experiences. Idk what’s going on there and yes it seems like we r complaining about everything. But this is all 100% true and not embellished. There was still no shampoo so we needed up walking to the front desk and having them hand over a new bottle. The worst of all though, was the absolute FILTH of our room. My supplier pictures will prove there’s no exaggeration. There was BLOOD on the mattress pad, used tissues behind the night stand, dust everywhere, hair in the shower corners, and again, no basic supplied items. This is probably my 3rd chance I’ve given this hotel and now 3 strikes is the review. I hope it matters. It really needs to. This establishment should be mortified charging what they do for how low of a CONTROLLABLE quality coeience they are providing. It takes no skill to clean thoroughly.

Overall our stay at the Davenport was a great one! There were small and minor room challenges like we got two different sets of stained sheets and the bathroom sink needed soap BUT the customer service we received was excellent. The hotel staff very quickly did all they could to make our stay more comfortable. The room was elegant and clean, the bathroom enormous and the shower had great water pressure. The built in amenity fee in the bill covered drinks in the evening which was fun. We had the option of taking drinks from the Peacock Bar and sitting in the Palm Room and it was delightful- was fun to sip and stare at the gorgeous ceiling and decorations. Hands down one of the best parts of our stay was a surprise and spontaneous private tour of the historical rooms that Dave with the night watch made possible. He was walking by us and asked how our evening was going and I asked if the nearby Marie Antoinette Room was undergoing restoration (as it was locked). Dave shared that no it wasn’t, and would we like to see? He preceded to show us not only that room, but the Doges Hall, the Elizabethan Room, and two other rooms/halls, sharing historical facts about all, bringing us to a hidden secret wall/ door in Elizabethan Room (so cool!!!) and pointed out a hidden proposal that one of the previous hotel owners left on the ceiling! Dave was clearly not only an expert on Davenport history (past and current! His stories about recent momentous events- weddings, Fireman’s Ball, and more were marvelous) but Dave also had a passion for preserving and sharing this unique building. Dave went out of his way to help history come alive for my husband and I and turned our stay into a memorable and engaging one we could not have had anywhere else. While we did many enjoyable things in Spokane during our stay we did not expect to have one the of best highlights be our hotel experience. Thank you Dave!!!

We stayed at the Davenport Tower in downtown Spokane for one night. The Safari room Reataurant has great food. Our room was ample and well supplied. Great walk in showers! Check in was well handled with great ease by Jacob Traxel (shout out to him for his friendliness and efficiency). A great hotel for a reasonable price. All that and a $20 food discount voucher for per day!
