This is a beautiful historic building in a convenient location but the hotel experience leaves a lot to be desired, especially for the price. They don’t clean or refresh rooms for shorter stays, the elevator was broken two days of our stay, and we could hear the people talking (clearly) in the room next to us. There was no option for room service breakfast (a nice splurge!). Lots of small things were off too (like, our toilet seat was not well attached and wobbled - one of the bathroom lights flickered). While any one of these things might not be a big deal, the combination really makes this a mediocre place to stay.

The photo offered shows exactly the highlights of the rooms. Although guest rooms are ENORMOUS, they are mostly empty. The furnishings (beyond the bed) are tiny, and do nothing to take away from vast echoing emptiness of these cavernous spaces. The ceilings are high. They literally echo. The TVs are tiny and so far away from the bed that one has to perch at the foot of the bed for the remote control to work (and there's really no watching from the tiny seating area as the TVs are mounted flat to the wall).

This hotel does not offer daily room service, and what service it offers takes a long time and speaks little english (which is typically fine, unless one can't convey what is needed). We arrived to find a previous guest's razor still in the shower and a questionably dirty extra blanet.

We arrived on a Friday night at 9 p.m. and were not only not upgraded, but told the hotel was sold out (which I find difficult to believe as we saw few if any other guests the entire duration of our two night stay). Also, the food outlet (the Pub) closes super early, and opens late, so don't count on sustenance if you arrive after 9 pm.

Overall, Spokane is a tough go for us. The Davenport properties all have the same super mushy beds, and are either super loud (the Grand) or rather threadbare (the Lusso). We haven't yet stayed at the Historic - that might get a shot as it's beautiful on the outside.

With a kid in college in Spokane we are regular visitors now, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'm open.

And while I usually take lots of photos, I just couldn't. This hotel was just too depressing.

For my recent trip to Spokane, I searched the Marriott options, as I'm a loyal Titanium member. To my surprise, there are three Davenport hotels under Marriott's Autograph Collection umbrella. They all looked like mediocre options, so I chose the Lusso, which was the least expensive option. Reviews and photos were mixed, so I went in with an open mind.

Arriving at the hotel, I had to self park in a dingy, eerie parking garage, with vagrants and street kids meandering around. I walked over to the Lusso and arrived to a very dreary lobby. The receptionist was friendly and gave me thorough introduction to the hotel. I had kindly been upgraded to the Capri Suite, using my Marriott SNA. Everything in this hotel, from the lobby to the elevators to the hallways to the room is creepy. There was a rollaway bed that just sat out in the hallway for the duration of my stay. As for the room, the extra space was nice, with a fireplace and sitting area. The layout was a bit awkward, with chairs in the middle of the room, but it was a fairly comfy room. The beds were okay. Bath linens were fine. The bathroom was large and roomy, if dated. Bathroom toiletries were nice. The hotel was very clean and was maintained well.

The hotel is in the immediate downtown area, so there is plenty to do just steps away. It's a great, walkable location.

I am a fan of historic hotels with character, but this is just a very odd hotel that doesn't feel cozy. It's musty and needs a major upgrade. I would recommend trying one of the other Davenport hotels for a (maybe) nicer stay.

We regularly stay at the Lusso (and all of the Davenport hotels) for “staycations.” A theme has emerged of shockingly subpar service. Their room service QR code/ordering app does not work, and I had to call 14 times to order because they didn’t pick up. I was told they don’t do in room dining (not true) and then put on hold for 12 minutes before I hung up and had to call back several times to get thru to someone. I was actually hung up on twice before I could even say anything, and once told they were too busy to take my order. They also failed to bring the salad dressing for my Caesar salad. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber that claims to offer in room dining.

We stayed for two nights in a large king room. We remember the Lusso as being a lovely hotel. Time has not been kind to it though. It is very much in need of a makeover. The brown carpet and heavy brown curtains are dingy looking. It is just worn and tired. It seemed there were few reservations while we were there the lobby was pretty deserted. The bed is comfortable though.

There are good things around it: a nice coffee shop across the street, the Historic Davenport with it’s beautiful lobby, and several good restaurants.

Great history to this hotel! Loved how all rooms still had the original transom’s. You could feel the old west as you meandered through the hotel.

I had a street view I believe on the 4th or 5th floor. Room was spacious, bed and pillows comfortable. The shower needed handrails due to the tub was over 21” tall and it was difficult to get in and out of the shower.

Staff was professional and friendly. Only problem was no parking so you had to valet or park a block away in a garage.

Definitely would stay again

The hotel is beautiful exactly what I expected. The issue was the tv did not work. We were offered another room but decided not to switch as they could not promise that tv would work( a known issue in the whole hotel).
The person that made this trip was Danielle at the front desk. She apologized multiple times for the television situation and went above and beyond to try and rectify the situation. It was because of her that we did not cancel our reservation after learning of the issue. She was great from the time she first greeted us at check in, taking our irritated call about tv.
We have stayed at multiple Davenport properties and never had this issue so don’t hesitate to book. You will be in for a special treat if Danielle is working front desk when you check in.

I was taking my wife to the airport early on Thursday. Since we live hours from the airport I thought I would treat her to a nice stay at the Davenport Lusso. Boy was I disappointed. My profile indicates foam pillows and there were none in the hotel. I contacted the front desk and asked for them to be delivered. It took over an hour to receive them and it was late. We were tired. Upon awaking we discovered the USB chargers in the lamps were defective so I had to drop her off at the airport with half a phone charge. The coffee maker didn't work, damaged wallpaper, bathroom was a mess, the sink looked like someone had thrown up in it and they hadn't cleaned it thoroughly...oh, and the kleenex box was empty. It was the worst hotel stay I've had in years and this was the DAVENPORT! I did speak with two managers and they discounted the room 50%. Nice gesture but still wasn't worth the stay.

Had a three night stay at this beautiful hotel. Hotel built like a fortress. Floor and walls are thick and solid. No outside noises were able to penetrate. Large bathroom but small bedroom but par for the course for a luxury hotel of this era. Great shower with plenty of hot water and strong flow. What more could you ask for? Will definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at all the other Davenport Autograph Collection hotels, but this was our first stay at Lusso. Really enjoyed the hotel....much smaller than the other hotels in the collection, this Boutique Hotel met all our needs. The room was spacious, super clean. The bed comfortable, bathroom with L'Occitane products and even Charmin Toilet Paper!!!!! We booked room 544, the fireplace suite....loved it. A little bummed that the Ale House downstairs was closed, but that is the way it is during this time of COVID. Friendly and helpful personnel. We will stay again.

I believe there is no pool and no jacuzzi/sauna. There may be a pool at the Davenport across the street - it is a sister hotel to the Lusso and one of the grand old hotels of the west. We visited friends in Spokane and did not go for dinner anywhere. The pub at the Lusso looked nice, the bar at the Davenport looked grand, and the dining at the Davenport should be a treat. Spokane has a ton of restaurants - so check online.
