We love staying here. Kathleen is a wonderful person who takes very good care of her guests and the meals are top notch! Then there are the lovely rooms and comfortable beds. Little Carlton the cat is always there to greet you. We always stay here when in town and will continue to do so

I'd stayed in Skamokawa a few years ago for kayaking, and we decided to take a few days to explore the area. Our stay at Twin Gables Inn was the highlight of our road trip. We haven't stayed in a B&B in a while, and I'd forgotten how wonderful it is to have a great host and amazing breakfast before heading out for the day. We stayed in the smaller room, but it was plenty for us, and we took advantage of the relaxing sitting areas, including the back porch. Kathleen is an amazing cook, even working within some pretty restrictive food sensitivities. We selected the breakfast time, and coffee was delivered to the table outside our room an hour before. We'll definitely be back!

Sometimes you are lucky enough to stay somewhere that sets the perfect tone for the rest of your holiday, and for us Twin Gables was that place. We were lucky enough to stumble on it in an internet search, and read reviews that really appealed to us, so decided to spend two nights there. And for us it lived up to, and surpassed, our expectations, with Kathleen being a wonderful host from the moment we arrived. We stayed in the Edna room, the larger of the two guest rooms, and it was beautifully furnished, with a really comfortable bed and a large en-suite, but the highlight was the interaction with the ever helpful and informative Kathleen, who was genuinely interested in making our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. There is something really luxurious about getting coffee delivered to your room an hour before breakfast, and then discovering that the reviews we’d read of the breakfast were actually understated, whether it was the fabulous omelette we were treated to on the first morning or the incredible ricotta and sour cream pancakes we got the second day. Overall it was the perfect start to our vacation, so a big thank you to Kathleen. As you’ve probably guessed, we can strongly recommend this beautiful spot to anyone who is looking for a hidden gem off the beaten path in western Oregon.

Looking for a place to "get away from it all"? Want it to have a quiet ambience you'd expect buried in New England or even SW England? This is your place! Twin Gables Inn is an unpretentious 2 bedroom B&B with an unattached cottage set on an almost private estuary of the Columbia. Kathleen, the hostess, makes you immediately welcome and is able to anticipate your needs. The Inn is immaculately clean and well furnished. And she's an excellent cook. Who can ask for more? The two rooms in the Inn are B&B. The cottage is adequate for 4 but breakfast is extra.

The hostess, Kathleen, is not only a fabulous cook, but goes a step beyond in treating her guests like family. For example, the day we arrived, she greeted me with a proffered cane after she noticed my slight limp as I approached the door. Our room was a bit small, but provided everything we needed. During our stay, fresh coffee and hot water for tea was always available, and Kathleen was full of information about the area. A charming collection of antique dishes adorns the walls and cabinets in the dining area where breakfast is served. For breakfast, Kathleen was happy to accommodate her various guests' individual food preferences. Lunch and dinner are available too, if requested in advance. The back porch of the house has seating for guests to relax and watch the local wildlife on the adjacent river. Kathleen's husband, unfortunately, was recovering from an accident so we had little contact with him, but we're look forward to getting to know him as well on our next visit to the Columbia River. Bed & Breakfast at its best!
