My friends and I absolutely loved staying at the Twin Gables Skamokawa Apt. The apartment was clean, cozy, and welcoming. Kathleen was so accommodating, friendly, and attentive. Even delivered cards to us upon request. All three of us had the best sleep in a while which we attribute to the more than comfortable beds especially the queen sleep sofa. We... More

Great stay in the apartment next to the B&B. Kathleen, our hostess, prepared a scrumptious supper upon our arrival on Friday night. Smoked salmon fettuccine Alfredo, green salad, and fresh baked foccacia bread. Plus she had chocolate cookies waiting for us in our room. We stayed two nights and couldn't have been a better place for us and our two... More

Great weekend. My best friend and I were traveling to Puget Island for a dog event. My friend, being the super sleuth she is, found this AWESOME B&B with a sweet little apartment that we stayed in with the poodles. One of us in the bedroom and one in the living room. It was just plain perfect. Cookies on our... More

Although this B&B wasn't really on our route of traveling along the Oregon coastline, it was one of the few family friendly B&B's I was able to locate for a decent price. We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed another night or at least utilized the kitchen during our stay (our fault for staying at the national... More

Twin Gables was a wonderful and restful get away. The host and hostess are so warm, and available at any time. Conversation with them was interesting, fun, and satisfying. The room met our every need, and the breakfast kept us full for hours. The tiny "town" and surrounding area has it's own country culture, with an island in the middle... More

This is a charming B&B in a delightfully quiet and historically interesting town on a channel of the Columbia River. The host and hostess are friendly and generous. The breakfast was delicious, our apartment was very clean and fresh cookies awaited us. Other treats were offered during our stay as well. ( My only suggestion would be a better mattress... More

Thanks for choosing our kids and pet-friendly vacation rental apartment! We are in the process of upgrading the bedroom's full sized bed to a queen size with new bed, mattress and box springs. The bed has arrived and the mattress and box springs are on order! We will also soon replace the living room's queen sleeper sofa mattress. So glad... More

Our favorite part was the coffee brought to our room an hour before requested breakfast time!! So sweet. Delicious cookies waiting for us in our room on arrival, netflix, hot tea, large bathroom with a really great shower!, incredible breakfast, and the sweetest hostess. As a young business traveler who usually stays at large chain hotels, this was absolutely perfect... More

My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary here at the Twin Gables. We had a wonderful time. Being in this area, was like a throwback to a lost time. So peaceful and historical. The home was very cozy and comfortable. Kathleen, the innkeeper was delightful. We opted to have dinner there. She prepared local lamb, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables... More

We spent one night in Agnes’s room at the Twin Gables during a road trip touring the Columbia River area. The Twin Gables backs up to the Skamokawa River. Kathleen provided us with a brief history of the river and the local area. We were fortunate the weather allowed us to have a wonderful light dinner prepared by Kathleen on... More

We were two families in a 23' boat on our first-ever trip from Portland to Astoria along the Columbia River and we needed accommodations somewhere upriver of our destination. We were so lucky to have found Twin Gables! Not only was it accessible by boat but Kathleen was a wonderful hostess and a genuine boat person whose knowledge and understanding... More
