this was an amazing hotel with well appointed quirky charming rooms. Very comfortable and the owner was knowledgeable and welcoming. A real delight. The food was fantastic and a good wine selection. Definitely recommended and I would stay here again

We recently stayed at the Audubon House, a separate house nestled on China Beach which included breakfast at the historic Shelburne Inn in Seaview. Wow, what a wonderful experience, the grounds are wonderful and even include a delightful bubbling stream just behind the house. We could not have asked for more. The view was spectacular. The house was hand built... More

We love this place. It's comfortable, relaxing and clean. For us it's like coming home and saying hi to family when we visit. The quirkiness of the decor; the beautifully imperfect clay pots blended with antiques, rich dark wood floors and stained glass is absolutely delightful. Everything about the place is enchanting. Breakfast is included with the visit and is... More

We stayed in the Audubon cottage for our 40th anniversary trip. I don't know how you can call it a bed and "breakfast" if you have to drive 5 miles to a restaurant, in another town, at the owners other inn. Then be hustled for tips by the rude "waiter". The broken down old mattress on the king size bed... More

We LOVE staying at The China Beach Retreat facility of the Shelburne Inn. This was our ninth visit and somehow exceeded our (very high) expectations! The owners and staff are marvelous people, and always make our stays special. The Audubon Cottage (at China Beach) is truly a piece of art and a joy to experience. The home-made breakfasts at Shelburne... More

We love this place, it is the third time we have stayed here. There is no elevator so you have to haul your luggage up the stairs to the room. The rooms are well appointed with nice furniture and wall coverings. There are no TVs in the rooms but Wi-Fi is free and if you have the right cable company... More

If you really love antiques, then you will probably be delighted with the Shelburne Inn. Antiques are not our thing, so it seemed rather crammed full of things with a somewhat strange mixture of antiques, modern paintings and rustic pottery. It has a nice yard with chairs so you can enjoy the flowers. We had a second floor room with... More

Thank you for your recent visit and for posting your comments regarding your stay, which have provided us with plenty of food for thought. The Shelburne Inn was established in 1896, of which most of our guests are well aware. You stayed in one of our guest rooms that was added in 1986. We opted to give each of our... More

We spent the day at the museum which has 38 exhibition buildings many gardens, and many fine arts and crafts to see. The 220-foot steamboat TICONDEROGA is a must see. The miniature circus parade which is 524 feet long and replicates a two mile parade is unimaginable. The tour and exhibition guides were great. Get to the museum at 10... More

My wife & stayed here 6 years ago, when the restaurant was closed for renovations. We stayed in room (#12) for 2 nights, and were not dissapointed. The room was cozy, warm, and has a balcony. Even though it was the beginning of fall weather, we left the balcony door open in the afternoon to let in fresh air. The... More

Stayed here on our road trip, and it is definitely the best place so far Everything about it is first class We arrived early and had lunch in the pub - Cioppino, I think - a fish stew, which was divine, with a couple of pints of craft beer The whole place has an old-time charm. The room was exquisitely... More
