I had never seen an operating 1920's or 1930's vintage motor cottage. They were the backdrop in movies like, "It Happened One Night," with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert (1934) and "The Women," with Norma Shearer and Joan Crawford (1939), but the real vintage cottages disappeared in the 1950's with the start of the motor lodge. My husband and I were looking for a clean, affordable, safe accomodation this past 2022 Thanksgiving and we wanted to be at the ocean. I explore motel sites online and was intrigued by a photo of a group of charming yellow and red cottages that looked like home-away-from-home. They were called the "Seaview Cottages," in Seaview, Washington, right next to Long Beach. The description stated they were once used as housing for soldiers during WWII. There were fifteen cottages; some had kitchenettes, some were dog-friendly, too. They were completely remodeled. We decided to make reservations. When we pulled in to the parking lot there was no dust rising from an unfinished driveway. The entire lot had been repaved and there were bright yellow lines with associating cabin numbers depicting parking sites. The cabins had punch key locks. The interior of our cabin was beautiful and pristine. We had selected a one room, pet friendly cottage. It came with small refrigerator, coffee pot, flat screen, wifi and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was cute, fixed-up in vintage style, but all new. The beach was two minutes away and next-door-neighbor Long Beach was a mere two miles away with shopping and dining. We had Thanksgiving dinner at the "Pickled Fish," in Long Beach. The special Thanksgiving menu was creative and the meal was delicious. Before we left, we walked around the Seaview Cottages area. There is a very nice spot to clean fish with sink and water and barbeques to cook your fare. I met Richard Wood, owner of the, "Seaview Cottages." He was very nice, and after I asked the identity of the contractor, he modestly admittied it was he. Credit, Richard said also went to an amazing crew who helped bring the "Seaview Cottages," back to life. My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the, "Seaview Cottages," and highly recommend it as a great stay.

This is our third time here. We absolutely love it. Richard and Noele are the greatest. Everything is new and fresh. We will definitely return! The restaurant, El Farito is highly recommended as well. So good.

While, unfortunately, we did not get a chance to stay here because of the Kite Festival, and Seaview Cottages were sold out, Doug, the gentleman who answered the phone went WAY BEYOND in helping us secure a hotel reservation at another establishment. He even put us on a cancellation list. We have family staying at Cape Disappointment, and if not for Doug, who called other hotels for us, and referred us to one, we would not be able to say goodbye to our granddaughter who is leaving soon for college out of state. There are 4 of us and it is Kite Festival weekend, so I never thought we would get a reservation. If not for my interaction with Doug, this wonderful human being, things would not have worked out. But you can better believe on our next trip to Long Beach area, we will definitely stay at the Seaview Cottages. The customer service was beyond anything I have ever experienced in the hotel industry. THANK YOU SO MUCH, DOUG!

Stayed for one night as part of a road trip. The cottage we had was super clean and cute. They are small, but that made it fun. Check in was a breeze and staff was very friendly. The offerings in the room exceeded my expectations. Would definitely stay here again. Go to the beach near cottage, it’s amazing!

We recently spent a few days in Seaview, WA and stayed at the Seaview Cottages. The cottages themselves are stunning from the outside and beautifully decorated on the inside. While our particular cottage was on the small side (a last minute booking), the wonderfully friendly owner pointed out that there are quite a few different layouts to the cottages and a wide variety of sizes. The overall vibe is mid-century modern, and yet effectively incorporated into the small beach town environment. Service was considerate and thorough, and surprisingly quiet considering how close the cottages are to one another. And whatever you do, make sure you go for breakfast at the terrific Mexican-themed restaurant next door, El Farito. Ask for the sides of salsa (one smokey and one spicy) - you won't be disappointed!

Wow! We picked these cottages and this town because it was on our route from ONP to Oregon and we just needed a place to sleep. We were on day 18 of a 5 week road-trip and this has been our best stay yet, and most surprising. From the outside you get quaint, seaside cottage vibes and you don’t expect a lot more than that. But inside retains the quaint comfortable feeling while being fresh, clean, modern and superbly comfortable. Mattress, pillows and linens were comfortable, lighting was well thought out. Our room, cottage 11 was roomy and bright. We did zero contact check in that was painless and simple. I was quickly provided a box fan upon request. I didn’t think I’d ever describe a place as both quaint little cottage and fresh and modern. But here it is! My only regret is we arrived and left outside of office hours. I’d have liked to check out the gift shop to buy a coffee mug or something.

We booked a small cottage at Seaview Cottages, and I didn't have high expectations. Wow, were we surprised! First, the outsides are painted fun colors and there are assigned parking spots for each cottage. The check-in was easy and the office was adorable. I thought, "Okay, they upgraded the office and little gift shop." And the woman who checked us in asked if we wanted a fan for our room. I then punched in the code for the cottage, and opened the door. I let out a little scream. Cute! Every inch of the cottage was refreshed and thoughtfully used from the overhead clothes bar with nice hangers to the adorable chair in the corner, funky lights you simply needed to tap, toiletries and colored washcloth for removing makeup, cubby holes for stashing small personal items, fluffy pillow and warm comforter, large screen TV, refrigerator and microwave. It's rated as a "two-star" motel, but it's actually a boutique hotel. Yes, the room was small, but it was so peaceful, quiet get-away with light traffic compared to Long Beach, a few miles away. Thank you for a great experience!

Clean, quiet, very nicely remodeled cottages with a friendly staff. I was visiting family at Cape Disappointment and chose this place because it was close. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was and would definitely stay there again.

Nicely decorated cozy cottage. We stayed for a short Valentines Day trip. Liked that it was away from the busier Longbeach tourist area and still close to some wonderful eateries. The little restaurant that is on location has amazing breakfasts. We hope to stay again soon. The service was above and beyond. Your each and every need is sure to be met. This little place is such a gem! Completely remodeled, charming cottages just off the main road in Seaview. Not a very walkable area, but a wonderful, cozy landing spot to explore the peninsula. Sparkling clean, comfortable bed, wonderful customer service. We stayed in Cottage 14 with a small kitchenette and had everything we needed to cook our own breakfast before adventuring each day. We had a wonderful weekend escape for a fraction of the cost of nearby places. We’ll be back!
