Great location, friendly people, amazing atmosphere, and lots of cute animals. Although I was in the area for business meetings, the ranch was a fantastic place to relax after long days. Although I have done a few large group dinners here in the past, this was my first time staying as a guest. It won’t be my last!

K-Diamond-K Guest Ranch was great! Our grandchildren enjoyed the ranch life experience including rounding up cows and horses, feeding pigs, chickens, and the baby calf, collecting eggs from the hen house, playing with the baby kittens, milking the cow, brushing and bathing the horses, riding horse, etc. Other activities were available including pickle ball, badminton, riding bike, and swimming in the nearby lake. In addition, the kids got to wear cowboy hats and boots supplied by the ranch. The accommodations in the lodge were great.

Beautifully constructed wood lodge with comfortable and roomy bedrooms. Comfortable large rooms in the main lodge with ceiling fans. No TV but Wifi is available. Ranch is very large so there is always lots of work for guests that want to chip in and help. We helped move the horses from one pasture to the equipment stable across the road. Horse ride was a bit slow and disappointing because we just rode slowly in a line down a trail without doing any ranch work with the horses. Kathy was a wonderful and very welcoming host who wears many hats in keeping this place running – she really could use more staff to keep this place running as it should. ' Meals were a bit disappointing because they barely had enough food for each guest with nothing extra for seconds. Be sure to get in line first to ensure a wide selection for your meal. The food was good but definitely not great for gourmet food lovers. Ranch is huge in a very nice location with plenty of things to do for guests that want to ride bikes, play pickle-ball, feed small animals, play billiards, horseshoes, etc. Lots of space to walk on roads, trails, or in the fields. Be sure to bring a good pair of hiking boots if you plan to do some hiking or help with work in the pasture. Lots of extra cowboy boots available as long as your foot size is 12 mens or less.

Lots of activities available and 3 meals a day included. Friendly staff. Large lodge and roomy rooms. A very pleasant alternative to a resort get-a-way. Horse rides, archery, bike rides, river floats, fishing, kayaking are some of the activities available.

So they charged 135 per person. They even charged me 135 for a 3 month old baby. When I spoke with the owner Kathy a few days prior to being there I informed her it would just be me my 3 month old and two younger daughters. Right then, on the phone, Kathy, you should have said honestly that coming to the ranch with a baby that young, we will not be able to explore and have the full time experience due to (what I didn’t know at the time) having to take an ATV to the pasture across the stress to see the horses and cows. But it’s slow season so they need to get Al their money. My sons dad unexpectedly came out and the day I scheduled to be there I also paid for him, which I was happy too. Thing of it is, neither of us could do much any thing because of our 3 month old. For one night stay they charged me 720, that almost 1,000 right? Ok. And then, all we did was get on an ATV go see horses and cows, we’re told go help pick up rocks and sticks, see a couple chickens, turkeys, and baby pigs. They fed us some meals that were apparently from wal mart, but not terrible. I’ve been told by family and friends they rip off customers and employees. I feel ripped off absolutely! That was no big time farm experience, she even charged 135 for a BABY who benefits NOTHING from being there not a thing! She also told me on the phone that if my kids were good and didn’t break anything she would give me back some money, they didn’t break anything and she didn’t give back anything. On the phone I was even spectacle about spending that much money and she stated she would give me back money if nothing was broke. Yeah that did not happen. Kathy, you ripped me off, you u ripped off people who have tried to work for you, I’ve heard the stories. You and your husband should have more integrity and honesty.

K Diamond. K isn’t a Yellowstone fantasy. It’s the real deal, an authentic working cattle and horse ranch that hosts those that want to experience a bit of that life, or simply decompress with all that’s offered at a fair and affordable price. What more can I say about the four days as a guest of Kathy and Brian? There’s not enough space here to adequately do so. After fighting a long term illness, though not fully recovered, the time came I was able to get back to living somewhat of a normal life. Years ago I’d done ranch work. One of the best times of my life. Long story short, I looked online and decided on K Diamond K to recover a bit more. From finding the Ranch online, talking with Kathy on the phone, then the four days there, I couldn’t have asked for better. Kathy and Brian are phenomenal hosts that run a quality operation. Great food, accommodations, better than Christmas card scenery and so much else. I truly didn’t want to return to suburbia. But, I’ll return to K Diamond K later this year. Should you book a stay there, you won’t regret your choice.

We stayed here for one night because we needed to be in the area and I love to ride and wanted my husband to have a chance to get on a horse. As vegetarians, we were told we could bring our own food. What was cooked for us from was from Wal-Mart, at best. Spent an hour on horseback behind the owner sporting a shirt that read "I AM A GUN TOTING CONSTITUTION LOVING AMERICAN." She also apparently doesn't care for hyphens, animals (heard horror stories of horses being sent up the hill to "horse heaven"--i.e. when injured being left for the wolves) or anyone who doesn't share her freely shared (bigoted) opinions. Believe the reviews by employees who said they weren't paid. There were no employees left so you have to endure the constant, mindless nattering of the owner. I don't need people to agree with my politics. But neither do I want to be condescended to by an ignorant spouter who protests too much about her values but lies when there's no reason to. How hard would it be to say, "Since you're the only guests tonight, we won't be able to serve a full dinner. Would a burger and some Tater Tots be okay?" Instead she told us that was what we were getting and said, "That's enough." If you say dinner is at 6:30, is is reasonable to make people wait until nearly 8pm because you are mopping the kitchen floor? Does "help yourself to whatever" substitute for getting breakfast in the morning? I swear I lost ten pounds in 24 hours. Pitching in on ranch chores has always been fun for me. But I don't need to pay money to be bosses around like a teen. Being greeted by the owner's surly teenage son made more sense after spending time with his very odd, very demanding mother. I do not relish writing negative reviews and have spent enough time riding other people's horses to know that the right way to do things is the way the owner tells you. But a certain point, when you're being told things that make no sense ("I don't allow my horses to back up" or "all my horses want to be second because they know I'll keep them safe" and "I can't stand to see this people who can't ride just sit on their poor backs; I'm not even sure it's okay for me to ride them") you can't help but think, girlfriend, time to get another gig.

A very solid 4 star adventure. Kathy would need to charge more money to hire more people to get 5 stars. Kiddo (7) and I went for a horsey adventure and we got so much more. Cats, cows, pigs and everything else. Food was fine, accommodating for picky kid, good margaritas and always cold water, lemonade and iced tea. Price was very reasonable for activities and food included. Kid loved it and we will likely be back. Travel hint: there is a ferry to take to save travel time, it’s the cutest little ferry.

What an absolute rip off for valentines dinner! My sister and I made reservations wayyyy in advance but they serve anybody. So the people who had made a reservation didn't eat first so they ran out of food. The prime rib wasn't even their beef and they ripped you off for $35 a plate!! We drove over 2 hours to have a ladies night and our prime rib was cooked to death and smaller than a hamburger patty and almost as thin. This was our first and last time there for a meal. They even ran out of vegetables and rolls! Why make a reservation if it doesn't guarantee you get what you reserved for?? Every other couple at our table were also highly disappointed and said they will not eat there again and they live locally and this was their first time there too. The atmosphere was great but nothing else

Response from , Owner at K-Diamond-K Guest Ranch
Responded Feb 27, 2022
Dear Zoe, We apologize for the experience you had with the Prime Rib dinner served on Valentine's Day. This was an overwhelming event even for us as we took in 70 reservations and over 150 people showed up. The gal at the door did not realize what was happening until the lodge was way over booked and PACKED!!! She didn't stop them from coming in welcoming ALL. We hustled at getting more food out and tried our best to accommodate the overflow. Please let us return your money and/or offer a FREE dinner to prove that we have learned from this experience.
