Stay for experience, not quality. The bed and bedding were maybe 3 star. Lumpy mattress. Bedspread was old and didn’t look very welcoming. The Internet didn’t work in our second story turret room. The antique sofa and chairs were very worn . Our room was clean.
Fun hotel for adults! They have 3 bars and you can order food from any of them. The food is super yummy too. We arrived on a saturday in the summer and they had a local music group playing in the courtyard outside. Front desk is super nice too!
My husband wasn't keen on staying at Manresa because it is a little "further out" and we were attending the jazz fest. But the parking is splendid, and the rooms are spacious with all the amenities one could want (including the cutest mini fridge that "fit in" with the older themed decor). The bed was a tad saggy, but clean -- and rooms were a little warm (no air con?), but with the window opened a bit and the ceiling fan going, it was just fine. Great water pressure in the shower -- not much "privacy" with a window in the bathroom door AND a "see through" shower curtain - but I'm probably just a prude! Also, the restaurant was FABULOUS. They had a Thai lamb dish to die for (as came recommended by their front desk staff), and everyone loved what they had to eat in our party. I'd definitely stay there again next time we can't get a camping spot at the fort. Great value!…
Manresa Castle is Port Townsend, very proper Victorian, very unique and welcoming! Port Townsend has everything, hiking, biking, water sports , restaurants, arts, antiques a free shuttle around town, down the hill from hotel. The Wanda halibut at the property is exceptional, my trip was very enjoyable!
Confusion with checking in and had to ask for room to be cleaned but overall our stay was satisfactory. We were in town visiting family and this is always a convenient and nice place to stay. A nice edition was the comedy at the castle. We enjoyed ourselves and the service was decent.
Great location and rustic feel. The food and vibe at the Rook restaurant are great. Events on the grounds are a little distracting a take away from the more cozy and quiet atmosphere we prefer - but overall it is a great place to stay.
We researched this online at several sites, and we saw that there is an Elevator. The problem we found is that you cannot use it without getting the front desk attendant (if they are there) to operate it for you. We were on the 3rd floor and my wife had her hip replaced in March.
The Manresa Castle is such a fun place to stay! It gets you out of the normal stale hotel vibe and creates a whole new experience! The bedrooms are almost completely sound proof because of the thick brick walls. The beds have been updated are are very comfortable. The staff at the hotel and the restaurant/bars are very welcoming! The property outside is beautiful! This is a great place to stay! I highly recommend it!
Interesting property, especially if you like Victorian style. Staff was very nice, & the bar has a nice relaxing feel. I wasn’t told the hotel didn’t clean rooms daily; not a big deal but would like to be informed. My biggest complaint is the hotel is very noisy. No insulation in rooms, so one hears the music downstairs, guests passing through, etc.
Talk about ambiance! I went in the off-season, and it was quiet and I just got to soak in the century-old vibe of my high-ceilinged room, sit on the old sturdy windowsill and look out at people enjoying themselves. Something about having my bathroom being down the hall made me feel like I was in an old boarding house or something. The halls were wonderfully old and creaky, the walls were incredibly thick (that's a good thing in a hotel!) and there were all sorts of things to look at. The pork sliders from the restaurant were great too, I just wish I didn't have to wait until 3 pm for them! A sink in my room would have been nice, but it wasn't bad. Still, the solid, aged, peaceful vibe gets them 5 stars in my book.
