Nice room for our family if 3. Nice to have a sitting room (with the pullout couch) separate from the bedroom. I liked that the windows opened to let in the fresh air instead of being sealed. The sitting room has a sealing fan (very nice), as our room was on the third floor and a box fan was provided. A few issues, though. Housekeeping did not show...and the front desk person was MIA when needed. We rang the bell twice, waited for 20 minutes and even called the hotel number ( while sitting in the lobby!) but no answer.

Everything about our stay at the Bishop Hotel was great. The room was comfortable, and very clean! The continental breakfast is small, but filled to order and delivered to the room, which I thought was perfect. There were a lot of stairs to climb, but I was told of that when I called to make the reservation, so that was not a problem. Within walking distance of shopping, eating, etc. The manager at the desk when we checked in was friendly and made sure we were taken care of.

What you should know: this place is truly a magnificent feat of theme that maintains charm and elegance. Additionally, the spaces and furnishings are maintained at a level of clean that I thought impossible for antiques. This time we traveled with our two kids. Knowing that the hotel gave off an “adult” vibe, I expected to be hyper vigilant about courtesy with my babes. I was right to an extent, although I felt totally welcome having my kids there. The only opportunity I would point out would be the temperature. On the top floor, the heat rose and made for a bit of a stuffy temperature. The hotel does provide one box fan and though they also have a ceiling fan, you cannot have just the fan on without having the secondary living area light on.

Thank you Nicole, I appreciate your comments about our room, service and cleanliness. I will take a look at the fan situation and see what we can do with the air flow. Stay safe

Filled with period appropriate antiques, the legitimate dark Victorian textiles and the age and wear of the past... the Bishop Victorian is a true gem! The rooms are full of Victorian period items and decor is true to the time, which paired with with stocked kitchenette and up to date TV, make for a comfortable vacation destination with a lot of history. The staff is very attentive yet courteous to the privacy needs of the guests, giving this quiet location a great deal of charm and comfort. The daily continental breakfast delivered promptly to your door at the requested time is a wonderful addition to everything that the Bishop Victorian has to offer. An incredible back garden area including a beautiful gazebo and sitting area provide a beautiful and quiet place for your morning coffee, a great place to read a book or just a place to wander about the grounds while absorbing all of the beauty and character.

We will definitely be returning to this hotel. Classic decor, comfortable bed and chairs. Right in downtown. Adjacent free parking and a nice park area/gazebo behind the hotel. Just remember all stairs to the second and third floors.
