A one-time brothel, ten of the Palace Hotel's twelve rooms has a name — e.g., Miss Lily, Miss Abigail, Miss Coleen, etc. So far, we've stayed in Miss Cecilia (whose name is misspelled on the hotel's website) and Miss Claire. On our last visit, we met two different couples at a local bar who had stayed in each room at...

The Palace Hotel is a historic building from the late 1800's clean with beautiful antiquated decor very tastefully displayed. Great location near the waterfront and walking distance to good eating places. Our private bathroom was down the hall (requested)--was large and suited the theme of the hotel. TJ greeted us at the desk and he is extremely friendly and helpful....

Booked on the advice in the Lonely Planet book and we were completely satisfied. In the center of town and with a history related to the township of Port Townsend, we enjoyed Annabel's room as others before us may have in the 1800's. Lovely room and the furniture and decor certainly added to the stay, Recommend to anyone.

Excellent room decor, magnificent water and main street views, comfortable bed. Water in room a bit brown and three story walk up a bit much with suitcases. Quiet and very convenient location, close to interesting shops and good restaurants. A great place for a couple of days get away.

For a hotel that charges $200/night, it offers few conveniences, limited access to the lobby, but extols the virtues of being a former brothel. Big deal. The lobby is seldom manned. Don't recommend it.

The Palace Hotel is extremely conveniently located on Water Street, the main drag, in Port Townsend, WA. It is close to numerous great places to eat, and I mean maybe a dozen within easy walking distance. The marina/waterfront area is also just a short walk away so you can "walk off' those calories. The hotel is tastefully appointed in antiques,...

We stumbled upon The Place Hotel and were very glad we did. It has some real Port Townsend history. Every room is individually and uniquely decorated. For the price, the rooms are very nice and very spacious. Ours even had a small kitchen which was very helpful. The great location made walking the rest of the town very easy. Very...

Sweet hotel, well decorated, great atmosphere. Definitely enjoyed our off season stay in mid January. Moody outside and cozy, Victorian atmosphere inside. Every room is unique and worth looking through before you check in, in case you want to find the one more to your liking. Location is great, walk to anything, right in the middle of lively Water street....

They allow visitors to tour the hotel even if they aren't staying, as long as they don't enter rooms that are occupied. It is a very cool place with lots of energy and history. The rooms are all named after the "ladies" who used to "work" in them. It is supposedly haunted and I know people who had their TV...

The town is lovely. The hotel is in a good location; the staff were accommodating and it is pet friendly, which is important for us. The people we met were friendly and we were extremely pleased with the restaurant selections. We definitely plan to return.
