I've been coming to Turtleback Farm Inn, annually, for 12 years. When I first searched for a decent, reasonable, friendly B&B, I stumbled upon this listing and the inn-keeper was courteous and friendly. She and her husband were so kind and welcoming - I fell in love with the place - what can I say? The managing staff are just as nice and, from a senior's perspective, I always look for a warmth of friendship. This type of graciousness is pretty rare these days. (don't tell them that I fed the stray cat under the berry bushes). My thanks to Bill and Susan and all!

We rarely get the chance to have a family vacation, so when the opportunity presented itself this summer, we jumped at the chance. We stayed at the Turtleback Farm Inn for our honeymoon in 2001, and decided to return with our two sons this summer and share our experience of the inn and Orcas Island with them. Susan Fletcher, the Innkeeper, could not have been more accommodating. She booked us two rooms next to each other in the lovingly restored 1900 farm house - our room (the "Meadow View"), had a beautiful view of the valley pastures below. Mrs. Fletcher met us in the Inn upon our arrival from the ferry in the afternoon, and after about a 30 minute conversation with us, helped us plan a complete itinerary for our weekend, including dinner reservations for each night. The rooms were perfect. Tastefully appointed with a rural theme, clean and cozy. We'd return from our daily activities to clean rooms - all that was left for us was to enjoy a quiet sunset on our private deck sipping the provided sherry and listening to the sheep below. Breakfast each morning was just right: fresh fruit, granola, and a unique entrée each day - you felt refreshed and ready to enjoy your day's planned adventures after your meal. Oh, and I'm a bit of a coffee addict, and they made sure to keep that flowing as well. :) The inn is centrally located at the base of Turtleback Mountain, so it's a quick, easy drive to all of Orcas Islands many attractions. We won't hesitate to return.

We had two rooms at the inn. The rooms are very well appointed, the surroundings are excellent and the breakfast is very tasty. There were plentiful snacks for off hours and a good supply of wood for a fire on a cool afternoon. We enjoyed it thoroughly.

Took a weekend getaway from our busy schedule with my husband being an active duty military they offered a wonderful military discount. The most beautiful place on the Island so peaceful, warm decor all around, so much history you can feel the love from the owners, they took the time to meet each guest. The breakfast was out of this world. I can’t wait to come back. Made our weekend so enjoyable.

A real bait and switch. Or family weekend get away was up-ended by rude staff and mgment. It seemed that a “take our rudeness or leave” attitude is the norm. The setting was very warm and welcoming but the staff needed lesson from little miss manners. They complained about everything to every guest and because of this observation this place quickly lost its charm.

Missing details. This reservation was made for Saturday night. Although we have a two night minimum, I accepted this as we were not very busy. You said you has been treated rudely at the resort. I offered you 4 rooms in The Farmhouse at the off season rate;$590- instead of $680. You arrived at 8:45A.M. instead of the 10:30 originally noted. Upon arrival, a man called wanting The Orchard House. I was at home but stated the rooms were in The Farmhouse. (The OH rooms are $260 per room per night.) I was called either before or after voices were raised in the living room. Walter noted our two guests were enjoying their breakfast and asked to be a little respectful.I wonder who is "they who complained about everything to every guest?" As you raised your voice to me, I said your card had not been charged and another place might be more suitable.
