Doe Bay is rad, but probably not for everyone. We spent a couple nights in one of their heated yurts. It was simple and amazing. There was a short walk from the car up to our yurt, but absolutely not anything worth mentioning if you actually can propel yourself. It was great to

There isn't much at that end of the island, in fact it's all there is. The restaurant is really a pub too and a bit loud. The menu is limited and priced to reflect it's the only restaurant in town. I do not recommend the spaghetti. The rhubarb desert is good. All in all I will

You know you’ve found your happy place, when you make a booking for your next visit before you leave from your current one. Orcas Island is that happy place for me and the Doe Bay resort is central to my love of Orcas. Two things draw me to Doe Bay – the spa with its wonderful

Two days in a row, two different men had their phones out in the clothing optional spa area and were obviously taking photos. Doe Bay apparently doesn't have a cell phone policy, which is outrageous. I love this place and have been going for years but I won't be going back

Response from DoeBay, General Manager at Doe Bay Resort & Retreat
Responded Mar 17, 2019
I'm sincerely sorry this was your experience. These are concerns that we take very seriously. Everyone who enters the spa is greeted with signage that forbids photos in the spa area. In response to your concerns we will, immediately, add additional signage and signage specific to cell phone use. Surprisingly, this is something that has not come up over the years. I have been the general manager for 6 years and this is our first complaint I have received about cell phone usage. Typically, I think that people are pretty conscientious and respectful to one another at our facility and it bothers me that a few people are ruining it for others. I will make it clear to our staff that if anyone ever reports something of this nature that I need to be contacted immediately whether I am at the resort or away. When I receive a report of this nature you can be sure it will be handled swiftly and emphatically. We do not have a new manager at the spa but we have restructured. Once again, I apologize that you had this experience at Doe Bay.
