After owning a timeshare in Copalis for over 30 years, fast forward to 1 less timeshare (1) and the opportunity to pick a new place. Collins Inn has always been on my bucket list. They did not disappoint. Easy scheduling, check-in/out. I loved the location and the layout of the unit. Plenty of goodies awaited us, including homemade cookies and multiple types of coffee and creamers. The weekend we visited was one of those 'smokey' days in the Seattle metro area, and also unseasonably hot. So when we arrived in Ocean Shores and noticed there was also some (milder) smoke, we were delighted the innkeepers had set up fans throughout the cottage to keep things cool and refreshed. The one aspect of this venue we missed was an outdoor space, i.e., deck, patio, etc., but the beach is less than a 100 yards walk away.…
We have been coming to the Collins Inn for many years. I love the fact you can bring your dogs along and stay at a very nice and clean place. The accommodation's are great for dogs and families. One of my favorite parts of the vacation is arriving to warm chocolate chip cookies. The beach is not very busy and right across the street. We look forward to many more vacation at the Collins Inn. Thanks Rose and staff for all you do to make our vacation awesome !
We stayed in cottage 1 at Collins inn in ocean shores, it has a handicap ramp making it possible for my mom to easily get in. There were cookies waiting for us, mom really enjoyed that. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Nice quiet area. The staff was helpful.
We stayed in the Sonora Room (main house) as a last minute "mini honeymoon" after our wedding weekend. The bed was extremely cozy and all of the details in the house were exquisite. The owners/staff were all friendly and helpful, and our little getaway went by way too fast. We loved the fresh-baked cookies, bath robes, and extremely well-stocked cooler fridges at the foot of the stairs. The space is gorgeous (the bar and white grand piano on the main floor were particularly stunning) - we would return in a heartbeat. Next time we will likely opt for a cottage only because our room in the house didn't have a table, desk, or dresser of any kind. That's the only thing to look out for if you're planning to work remotely (which we tried to avoid!). So happy we found the Collins!
This was a wonderful place to stay if you are planning a trip to Ocean Shores! We had our dogs along with us so we stayed in one of the adorable cottages and so glad we did, it had everything we could want or need already taken care of (plus cookies to greet us when we arrived!). It's in a great location and the owners are just the nicest people ever. I am really looking forward to my next visit, will be back for sure!
We celebrated my mother's 90th birthday by reserving a 4 cottages for 4 families and it was perfect. the facilities are awesome super clean and has every thing you need full kitchen large eating area comfy beds and very close access to the beach. i would highly recommend the Collins Inn Cottages to anyone who is going to spend time at Ocean Shores it is far superior to any hotel in the area.
We TURRET ROOM. All rooms have great views and accommodations. Check out the web sight to get better explanations. Words can't do it justice. A picture is worth a thousand words. The host were very pleasant. Their chocolate/chip cookies are to die for.
I loved most everything about our recent (and too short) stay at one of the cottages here. My 4-year-old son was amazed by the deer that stopped by in the morning. He stared at them for hours. Easy in, easy out. Close to the beach. He didn't want to go home. Overall would recommend highly for Ocean Shores vacationers.
Stayed here for a weekend getaway, and although the weather outside was quite torrential, we were able to enjoy the downpour from the comfort of our room's hot tub (a much anticipated feature leading up to our visit.) The building is very nicely furnished and the hosts are warm and welcoming. Only wish we could have stayed longer! Would recommend to any couple looking for a cozy BnB feel with nice amenities.
I would frankly describe this experience as frustratingly disappointing. I have been to several Bed and Breakfasts because of the unique ambiance and personalized experience they offer. However, the Collins Inn provided a deeply dissatisfying experience. We reserved the Turret Room and the room itself was comfortable. The furnishings were nice. The space was well appointed. Views of the bay were beautiful. The inn provided access to bicycles, which was very nice. Unfortunately, the fireplace did not work during our stay. By itself, this was not a significant problem. However, there was no available support or assistance to address the problem. In fact, no person greeted or welcomed us to the inn. Rather, we were given a code via text message with instructions on how to unlock the main door and bedroom door. Given that we had booked this Bed and Breakfast for our valentine’s weekend, this was especially disappointing. No acknowledgement or awareness whatever of the holiday was provided. That, also, was rather disappointing. Most of all, however, was the breakfast. Generally, when I have booked a bed and breakfast, the breakfast is a significant factor—given that a stay at a bed and breakfast typically involves the preparation and service of breakfast to the small number of guests sharing the inn. However, we were greeted with a piece of paper instructing us that our breakfast was located within the mini fridge inside of our room. The “breakfast” offered consisted of pre-packaged food in factory sealed bags. We were instructed to warm this paltry offering for ourselves. It also contained a yoghurt and an individually packed muffin that had been retrieved from a rather large pack of muffins from Costco. Exceptionally and entirely dissatisfactory. Nothing similar to the service I have come to expect from a four-star bed and breakfast. Frankly, a meal at a local Holiday Inn was more appetizing and appealing than what was proffered at this inn. Additionally, all other bed and breakfasts in which I have stayed have offered small and simple treats or welcome baskets to enjoy during our stay. Not so at the Collins Inn. Rather, we were told that individual items were available for purchase at exorbitant prices. It was something like attending a movie theater and purchasing their concessions at their extremely inflated rates. Finally, and most infuriatingly, none of these irksome circumstances were ever acknowledged or described during our booking process or on their website. Had I known that I would be spending my valentine’s holiday in a beautiful location operated as if it were a nickel-and-dime-you-to-death establishment, I would have undeniably chosen a more reputable, hospitable, welcoming, and enjoyable experience. I would never recommend this establishment to any person. I am thoroughly disheartened with their service. In spite of a beautiful room, I would never choose to support an organization that is deceptive in its advertising and cold in its approach to hospitality. Finally, after posting a previous critical review, I received an email from The Collins Inn asking me to post a positive review publicly or to email them directly if I could not post a positive review. Their duplicity astounds me. Shame on you for not allowing a fair and honest review to be posted. Rather than attempting to suppress reviews, please focus, instead, on addressing these glaring problems.…
