Very disappointed as we didn't even get to go because of the fires however we still were charged for a night bc we cancelled within the 14 days. I understand this policy so you don't have ppl randomly cancel but if all the popular hikes are closed per the National Park service AND the air quality map states "heavy smoke covering the area" there should be an exception. Not to mention ALL the restaurants on site are CLOSED until further notice...seems like ppl are clearing out due to the fires. We're already crushed to miss out on seeing this part of WA on our 10 day trip visiting the state, this just adds to the frustration.

I cannot say enough good things about this venue and staff. Jaime is an amazing event facility manager - she went far above and beyond our expectations! The location is beautiful, the facility is lovely and well kept - we loved the cabin/lodge vibe and hardly had to put any effort into wedding decor since it was so naturally beautiful! The Freestone Inn was the PERFECT place for our wedding reception. Our guests loved the accommodations options - cabins, the inn rooms, and several camped next door at Early Winters Campground. We stayed for the weekend and rented out Jacks Hut for a karaoke pool party, which was fantastic and so fun. Jaime and her team were SUPER helpful coordinating all of our events throughout the weekend.

Beautiful building and location just north of Mazama. Our "suite" was really a huge one bedroom apartment with plenty of space to stretch out. It was clean and well maintained. The folks that made our pizzas at the Jack's Hut were super nice and the staff that we encountered were great too. Definitely the nicest place to stay in the area!

Jamie, Becky, and the gang are true craftsmen of a good time. If you break a card box, they'll find you tape to fix it. Want some go cups for coffee cause your flight leaves at 3 AM? NO PROBLEM. Incredible. Stay here.

We loved the room, loved the pillows and mattress, loved the view, adored the fireplace. The restaurants were closed, but there was a fridge in the room and a microwave downstairs. I enjoyed the lack of crowds because it was off season.

A lovely winter getaway for the 4 of us along with our dogs. We could walk on the snow or ski from our doorstep. We enjoyed beautiful views. We could all relax in the hot tub and could look up at the stars.

We had booked our stay to celebrate my husband’s birthday and we had a wonderful time. We stayed in a deluxe king room which was clean and comfortable with lovely views over the pond. Every member of staff were friendly and helpful. At the moment there is limited restaurant service; but the food we had at Sandy Butte was very good. Matthew the bar tender made me a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu and it wasn’t until later that we discovered that he normally works in maintenance; but due to staff shortages had volunteered to work the bar area. He did an amazing job and could take over that position. When the front desk lady realized it was my husband’s birthday she gave us a bottle of wine. The complimentary breakfast of cereals, yogurt, bagels was all we needed for breakfast. When I discovered the bathtub faucets were stuck Kurt quickly fixed it. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the fireplace was broken and the room we had originally booked was not available. They did discount our room due to these issues. We will definitely stay here again as it was such a welcoming friendly place to stay and so close to the trails.

We love coming here. The people at Freestone Inn and also Jack's Hut are always very helpful and friendly, which makes our time here even more pleasant . The cabins are nice and quiet, and clean; with walking trails close by. Early Winters creek is also within a few steps. The large pond at Freestone Inn is beautiful to walk around, and in fall the colors are lovely. If you want to enjoy a quiet and beautiful retreat from the daily grind, come here!

The single bed cabin fit me very well as I was a single man looking for a comfortable place to stay for nearby hikes. The place has a mini-frig, double burner stove top, comfortable bed, clean, hot water quickly available, privacy (no other cabin within 200 ft), roomy, reasonable internet access, very nice loop trail behind the lodge, very available and friendly staff, kitchen utensils, etc. I brought my own groceries so I did not avail myself of the Pizza + restaurant on site which people said had very good eats, beer and mixed drinks. There is a pretty well stocked grocery store in Mazama for a small town. Also gasoline. Winthrop is fairly closeby (14 mi) for more restaurant and other choices. An noted, the cabin was great for me and it was as advertised. If there are two people it might be a little tight. Small table, no place to really hang clothes (some hangers on two hooks) but there was a lot of bench space and small drawer cabinet to place stuff. I could not find equipment to heat the place (the small electric radiator did not have a plug and I suppose the electric fireplace is meant to provide the heat, which it does but the flame lights up the room if you like darkness to sleep. Also could not find extra blankets. Granted, I was there at the end of September and it was well short of cold but the cabin got a bit chilly at night and early morning.

We rented a two bedroom cabin, which was clean and homey. The beds and couch were very comfortable and the wifi worked in our cabin. It's very close to a lot of truly awe-inspiring hiking trails; It was absolutely lovely to hike during the day and relax in the hot tub once the day's adventuring was done. The lockbox key program (being provided a code for a lockbox from which you gather your cabin keys) is really brilliant and made our arrival and check in much simpler. The staff on site is very friendly and helpful, and it was great that the restaurant was open in the evenings once we returned to the hotel so we could indulge in a cold beer after a long day. The views from the pool and the hot tub are serene and gorgeous. I would absolutely recommend staying here.
