Detailed Reviews
Lopez island is a wonderful, scenic location for cycling. I wanted to share it with my friend who loves to cycle. The Islander Resort was easily accessible to the cycling crowd! Just unlock your bike, don your cycling gear and head out! The room we stayed in #4 was very comfortable and amenities were fine. The view of the marina and the sunsets were radiant. I think it's good to know you do need to walk your luggage ( and bikes) through a grassy hill to arrive at the room. Also, wi fi does not work in your room. I'm not sure if this is true for other rooms. However, the restaurant manager was very accommodating and let us conduct scheduled zoom meetings in a private area there. We would return and stay here again.
The pool was closed d/t covid precautions. Additional ice was available at the restaurant.

Thank you so much for your wonderful and thoughtful review. We have good news about our wifi. The wifi in the lodge area has been upgraded to high speed fiber optics and we are working on installing it in all the rooms this winter. Currently, wifi is only in and around the lodge-restaurant area. Yes, our canoe single queens rooms are in a separate one story building with a parking lot and grassy area in front of the rooms. Our 2 story building, which has our deluxe king rooms and double queen rooms, have parking right up to your door on the ground floor rooms or park by the two stair ways to walk up to the second floor. We are pleased we were able to accommodate your private meetings in our lodge area. We are so happy you will be returning. We really look forward to moving into phase 4, to be able to enjoy our beautiful swimming pool and hot tub, once again! Thank you and see you soon!

Sorry, with the already lack of phone service (Verizon) on Lopez, it's almost unforgivable to not offer WIFI. It's not the lodge's fault that Verizon is even less than a 3G speed on the island, but knowing that fact you need to offer WIFI! I couldn't even search what to do on the island! Get Wifi and this place gets 4 stars. No complimentary breakfast included. For the price, the quality seemed about average. Nothing spectacular, but nothing too bad.

Hello, We do offer high speed free wifi in the lodge area and all common areas in the lodge, restaurant, lounge and seating area inside and out around the building. We still do not have it across the street in the rooms or down on the dock. We do have a restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. We hope you will visit us again.

Upon check-in, the Front Desk advised they had a nearby house that was available, since there were 3 adults. No mention was made of condition, etc., just that it was nearby -- actually walking distance. Off we went. What a fabulous deck and view. The marina was fully visible, the float planes were coming and going. The deck was spacious, ample seating, a sun umbrella and BBQ grill. OK. Inside, strictly early '60's with shaggy carpet, dated decor, 1 bathroom missing a toilet seat. That was fixed the next day. The bedrooms were nice sized but no hangers in the closet, no Kleenex or paper towels in the kitchen. Adequate dishware and dishes, and the DR table comfortably sat 8. It was just so dated and dreary inside. There was ample parking off street, and although it's on the main street, once it gets dark, there's little to no traffic. The LR was, also, small. 1.5 baths.

Stayed at the marina for two nights, after staying in other marinas in the San Juan Islands. This marina is mediocre. For the same price as other marinas, the service was lacking!!! No garbage cans anywhere, only one dock hand helping all the boats dock, NO WIFI, restrooms /showers were marginal.

We are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations at our dock, bathroom/shower room. We have a big garbage trailer in the parking lot for boats to get rid of their garbage in the summer months. We do have free high speed internet in and around our lodge area. We hope you will give us another try in the future.

1 out of 10 and only because of the beautiful area and the great restaurant. $200 per night for a single queen! Beautiful deck except the paint is peeling. Absolutely atrocious coffee in the room and then being told the coffee at the office was $3.25 after a $200 room-hummmmm. Spider webs and spiders on the ceiling. No AC or decent fan in 90 degree weather. Umbrella on the porch is broken so sunlight couldn’t be adjusted to deflect the heat. No ice available to the rooms. Carpet stains. No ample towels for pool or hotub. All in all won’t stay here again.

We tent camped at the resort. The positive is that you don’t need reservations. We arrived on a Tuesday and had our choice of campsites. On Thursday, a youth group of about 30 people arrived. By Friday there were tons of campers everywhere. We have tent camped on Lopez every summer for years, but his was our first time at the Islander. We left a day earlier than planned, because we discovered that this place is party central. People were up yelling and running around until 2 AM. When I asked at the front desk if there was a designated quiet time, they said it was 10:30 but they don’t have the staff to enforce. they suggested the next time I call 911! There are no signs anywhere telling of a lights-out time.
Yes they have a pool and hot tub, but even on Tuesday and Wednesday it was overrun with about 10 kids at all hours, so we never got to use it.
The best part is they offer massages on site, which were excellent.

We are so sorry about your experience in our campground. We were exceptionally busy this year and we are very sorry about the people with bad unruly behavior. That is never acceptable! In the future we will have signs with the expected lights off and quiet time and we will have that rule explained to them at check in. I sincerely hope you will come and see us again.

Highly unprepared for 2022 summer morning breakfast. Sat and waited 45 mins for the server to greet us at our table. 1 server for the entire full deck, no host or busser to help out the team. Drinks came about 20 mins later after the greet. Clearly a management staffing issue. Good view though.

Thank You Lizely (our server)!! View, food and service was stellar. Reasonably priced and carefully prepared. We had the pan fried oysters and halibut fish and chips. Creamy garlic mashed potatoes and seasoned asparagus along with a bowl of clam chowder accompanied the oysters. View was unbeatable.

There aren't a lot of places to stay on Lopez Island, so the review is written within that context. This is a fine place to stay. The room was clean and had almost everything you'd need in it. But what really drives up the grade is the view from the deck. After a week or two of travel, to be able to sit in chairs on the deck and to stare peacefully and quietly at the harbor in the near distance made it all well worth it. This one experience truly brought life on the San Juans to life. Don't expect a "resort," but a well maintained, clean room with a stellar view.

Ferry was late and the Islander was the only open place after 8pm. Very busy server was hustling and needed more bus help. Bus person brought our appetizer and we had to call him back and ask for plates. He brought us plates and ran away before we could ask for napkins or silverware. We found the bus station and helped ourselves. Food was good, did not take long and the waitress did check back once towards the end of our meal.
