We just spent 2 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The property is gorgeous with a great view of the surrounding area. Our cabin was like new and very nice with a huge rustic log framed bed. Given the virus situation our breakfasts were delivered to our cabin each morning. They were freshly made, delicious and hot! Our host was very nice and enjoyable to talk with. He told us about the area and as we were there for fishing about where to go and what gear to use. The Lake Wenatchee area is so scenic. We look forward to going back to stay, hopefully next summer. All the cabins had a wonderful scenic view of the surrounding area. Our cabin was very large, with microwave, fridge, deck, bathrobes, and much more. Outside is very nicely landscaped. They also have horseshoes and a very nice kids play area.

The breakfast is great, and I really don't usually like breakfast foods. The portions were nice. It might have been good to have the fruit come in two smaller portions vs. one larger portion, but overall wonderful breakfasts that were different each day! The grounds are very nice. We are big walkers, and we enjoyed taking the trails to the creek. It got us exercise, and we enjoyed seeing the countryside. The cabin was pretty nice, true to the internet pictures.

Found the cabin was very nice and clean fireplace with the fan up above kept the place nice and toasty. Wished we could have experienced more of the outside but it was to cold. Will have to go back in the spring. We had a sleigh ride scheduled but the snow didn't cooperate but we still got to go on a wheeled wagon with horses pulling. It was fun. Pine River made a price adjustment for us. That was great. Leavenworth Christmas lights were great. Pine River we will see you again. Thanks again Merlin & Sharon

We held my daughter's wedding here June 8th 2019; the venue was beautiful, but that is where it ends. The owner, Patrick, has a lot to learn about being a good host. It began when we arrived, he was legitimately angry because some guests were parking in the wrong area and had no problem being rude to them by aggressively ordering them to park in the correct area. His attire was extremely unprofessional as a host, he wore shorts, T-shirt and sandals. His attitude was he did not want to be bothered or approached, he simply wanted to bark orders to the bride and be left alone..... he did make it a point to all of the wedding party and guests, this was his property and barn; in which he stated many times throughout the day. When asked by a family member for an extra table, he replied "why do you need an extra table he had his staff set out enough", she was set back by his response and sarcastically asked "you have accommodated weddings before, right?" Patrick asked her "what she did for a living" (like this had something to do with her line of questioning) and she responded, "I'm a high school teacher", she was taken back when Patrick said, "oh, you're a teacher, I'll talk slower then" (this is the truth as several guests witnessed their interaction) she responded "well, maybe teachers from Washington are slow, but I'm from California. She had to walk away from him as she was upset and didn't want to show it to her niece (the bride). She ended up having to locate another table and setting it up herself. Patrick was hovering around the venue all day and night, many guests observed him and were asking "why is he here, who is he and why is he dressed so inappropriately." He made many people uncomfortable to include my wife; as my wife was waliking from our room to the wedding venue, she was dressed in her "Mother of the Bride" wedding attire, she had to walk past the main house where Patrick was sitting with some of his workers and Patrick "Cat-Called" (Whistled) and stated "Momma's looking good" like a 13 year old boy thinking this was acceptable. The bride's aunt had moved 3 tables down about 4' to align with a hanging ornament that was put up, Patrick immediately reprimanded her as he had a specific spot for all of the tables and "apparently" this was a big deal. There are several other examples of Patrick's run-ins with our wedding party and guests, but I want to speak of the experience. Be aware, in addition to the very expensive venue cost, you are forced to book 6 rooms at $225 each for 2 nights (per the contract). You cannot bring alcohol to the event, you must purchase their alcohol and use their bartenders at $60 per hour which you have to begin 1 hour before and 1 hour after the reception. The rooms that are forced upon you are acceptable with the exception we could have booked rooms with our families at a much cheaper rate, there was a sign in our room that stated "Bed and Breakfast, You make both"; this sign states the attitude of the host. There is a Queen bed that seems the size of a Full bed. Breakfast is served at 9:00AM sharp. The property was immaculate set amongst the mountains. The venue is not "disabled persons" easily accessible. The reception area is the second story of a barn, which takes approximately 25 steps to climb, the ground is grass or dirt and the surface is extremely uneven. There is a long ramp at the back of the building, but no older person can climb or push themselves up on their own and they would have to travel on an uneven grass surface to get the rear of the building about 100'. The parking lot is 5/8 crushed gravel and it is about 60' - 100' away from the venue depending on where you park. In closing, our daughter's wedding was fantastic because of the family and friends that pulled together to make sure the terrible host did not ruin it for her. I gave this venue 2 stars as that is all the rating system would allow, but here is the breakdown: Venue: 4 Stars Hospitality: 0 Stars Service: 1 Star Accessibility: 1 Star Location: 4 Stars I would not recommend this venue simply because of the owner, with that being said with positivity and support a beautiful wedding can be had here. It is very difficult for elderly guests to get around.

John, Thank you for the great comments on how the venue looked. We work hard to make sure the venue is as beautiful as possible for all of our B&B guests as well as our wedding couples. The flat grass lawns around the barn make it easy for guests, even with walkers or chairs, to move from the wedding and cocktail lawn areas to the stairs or the ADA ramp on the back of the state historic barn. I am sorry that you don't feel like you received the service that you should have received. Our venue, though not high priced when compared to others that offer the same amenities, takes great pride in having all of the details completed prior to our guests arrival to make their day much easier. Using a four-page detail sheet, many phone calls, and walk-thru's by the couple we have everything pre-set so guests don't have to endanger themselves by moving heavy tables and other items to help the bride set decorations. We do stick to what the bride has given to us and do a quick walk-through with the bride when they arrive to make sure that everything is just what they want. I would like to make sure that I answer a few of your concerns: 1) We do help our guests with attended parking so everyone can get in and out without any issues. We do have signs up to explain where to park and cones up so people don't park in walk-ways. If necessary we do explain to people nicely where they can park. 2) All employees of Pine River Ranch dress professionally in matching attire for the wedding. I am in work clothes generally when I meet the early arriving "work-party" in the AM as I am finishing setting up outside and help with any thing that the bride needs upon arrival. I was in shorts, tennis shoes, and a sweatshirt when you arrived. I always change into slacks and a button down shirt for the weddings hours before other guests arrive. 3) I will apologize personally for my attempt at humor using sarcasm that may have been off-putting. The comment that you speak of was actually following a conversation in the parking area before the bride arrived and followed my telling her that I was a teacher and administrator for 23 years. We are an education family and take great pride in treating educators well and actually give them a 10% discount on their stay anytime. 4) I will also apologize, and did try calling Lisa as well, about telling her she looked nice. My whistle and comment was intended as a compliment and with her smile and thank-you I believed she understood the intent. 4) We do require rental of our suites, of which there are four (4), so the venue is exclusive to your party the night of the wedding. The bride is in charge of who stays in them. We understand that you could go get a "regular" hotel room 20 miles away for possibly less money but we also know that our 500 square foot suites, with breakfast delivered to you door, is much quieter, has more amenities, is located onsite, and is less expensive than the same type of room in downtown Leavenworth. 5) We do charge for our alcohol and service that we provide to you. Having alcohol on-site at wholesale prices is much more efficient and higher quality product for our guests. 6) I never volunteer information that I own Pine River Ranch to any guests. If anyone asks I tell them that my wife owns the property and I am an employee (which again is an attempt at humor). We are very fortunate to be able to own such a beautiful property and keep its history intact and are proud of the work that we, and our staff, do with our B&B and venue. Our venue prides itself on helping all of our couples and families have a great wedding experience. We had a lot of guests ask for pamphlets to give to friends, tell staff members and myself what a great experience they had, and had Haley and Kyle tell me personally, and staff members, the night of and the next morning that they had a great wedding experience. I am sorry we fell short in helping you to have the same experience.
