Detailed Reviews
We were very pleased with our 2 night stay at the waterfront studio #5 (mid- September) and with the whole experience, booking, ordering flowers, checking in and out, and the inkeeper’s personal welcome! The operation is first class yet unpretentious from the welcome phone call to let us know the accommodation was available early, the personalized welcome and easy check in, the welcome glasses of wine, the ability to order flowers for a special occasion through the website and awaiting in the room. The studio is spacious, well equipped, the features are all quality, with great attention to details, such as the raised bed to enjoy the sunrise, the private deck with the table and smartly opened railing for a good view while seated, the European style shower features, the location right on the water, and much more! While spendy, there is value. However, we just read in another comment, that the place was sold, so our comments only apply to our experience under the ownership as of mid-September.

My husband and I recently spent two nights at the Boatyard Inn for our anniversary just as the Covid restrictions had increased again. The entire town of Langley followed all of the protocols, and our inn keeper did as well. The room had all the amenities if you wanted just to stay in (mini kitchen with cooktop, microwave, fridge, tea kettle and coffee maker) and very comfortable furniture. The view is amazing. Each room has a private deck. The Inn is a 5 minute walk from the very quaint downtown area where many of the restaurants were offering outdoor dining, even in the middle of November! We loved our time at the Boatyard Inn and felt very safe and relaxed. We will return!

The views are better than the images - you are right on the water. The small decks are thoughtfully private. Perfect for an afternoon wine, or morning coffee. The living space, with couch and fireplace, plus dining was just right. The best shower we've ever had. Very quiet and calm at all hours, you can hear the lapping water.
So fun to just walk briefly up the hill for delicious dinners in town.

+1
Studio, well furnished, close in, yet also secluded. Tiny waves from wakes were all the water sounds from this protected inlet on a small strait. Nice little beach at low tide.
Comfortable well appointed king bed. Functional kitchen (with world’s cheapest tableware, barely stamped into fork spoon shapes, not comfortable or appropriate for this caliber of room).
Hotel, I was told, had laid back check in/check out hours, which turned out not to be the case after we booked. I was also told hotel had safe Covid-19 protocols, yet hotel grounds, linens and cleaning staff wore no masks on any of the days present. This lack of training or adherence to training doesn’t speak well of mgmt.
That, makes me think this place’s popularity is due to its amazing setting and architecture yet mgmt is sitting on these kaurels

Response from Boatyard Inn, Innkeeper at Boatyard Inn
Responded Jul 12, 2020
Hello John & Deb, Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns you have of our Covid policies. I’m sorry if you thought our rooms sat empty between guests and that a late checkout was not an option for you this particular stay. Our housekeepers are spending a lot of extra time making sure the rooms are very clean and sanitized, and because of this when the Boatyard Inn is fully booked, early check- ins and check-outs are not always an option. Our housekeepers are masked while in the rooms cleaning and I will follow up with your observation of the housekeepers not wearing masks while walking around the property (which is entirely all outdoors). In our office we have put up a clear barrier between the desk and guest area so that our front desk employees can great you safely and from a distance. We are also set up very well for a 'no contact' check in and check out. All one has to do is ask. It is very important that all our guests feel safe during this time. We hope you will come stay with us again. Until then stay well, Sincerely, Mynda Myres, Innkeeper Boatyard Inn

The Boatyard Inn is a collection of small buildings, most are unique and have 1 to 4 suites in them. Most units face the bay that borders Langley and all are within 1 block of the delightful downtown. Everyone we have encountered there is dedicated to making your stay a success with local knowledge of restaurant availability and store specialties.
A working boatyard provides a never ending source of interest and every sunrise is worth photographing.

It only takes an hour to drive here from Seattle, yet it feels as if you've entered another world! Almost all the rooms at the Boatyard Inn are waterfront, and our studio room was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Most important for us was the deck with a wonderful view and the sound of the waves lapping below. This was our first visit and we've already booked to go back!

I have to say that this was one of our loveliest trips ever, and our stay at the boatyard Inn greatly enhanced that. Even though we had an upstairs neighbor we felt very private, it was waterfront with birds outside our window. Our room had everything we needed including a freestanding tub with views of the water. It was really incredible and we enjoyed our visit so much from the moment we arrived and were offered a glass of wine checking in.

We often do a couples trip between Christmas and New Years. We have also stayed at the Boatyard other times. The rooms we have stayed in previous to this trip were all clean, well-appointed and with a killer view. This time because of maintenance being done on the room we had originally booked, we were upgraded at no charge to the Marina Suite. OMG!. I though I had gone to heaven. The suite is 700 square feet with a bathroom as big as the office I work in with both walk in shower and soaking tub. The decor is upscale zen- very much to my liking. The little balcony sits directly over the beach. Loved listening to the gentle waves. Would go back in a heart beat!

We had a wonderful stay at the Boatyard Inn for our anniversary. The Waterfront Marina Suite is beautiful, well-maintained, and appointed with many thoughtful touches, including coffee and tea, snacks, dishware, bathrobes, and armchairs that are strategically positioned in front of the view of the water. We also appreciated the peace and quiet of the area and easy walk to nearby restaurants. Would highly recommend!

Visited over the Labor Day weekend 2020. The view is breathtaking. The studio is tasteful and very clean. Checked in over the internet and got the key in an envelope, no contact. The bed is very comfy and you have a full view of the water from the raised bed. The Inn accommodated us with a futon mattress along with all the bedding for my son, that worked perfect. We went out late at night and the marina was lively with people walking their dogs and socializing. It was a very safe and enjoyable atmosphere. With Covid restrictions at some eateries in town we enjoyed lots of meals on the beautiful deck overlooking the water. We loved the complementary coffee, hot cocoa and snacks supplied. The place is very close to everything in town, we did not move our car for the whole stay.
It was a wonderful and very relaxing experience.
