Clean, located conveniently, charming, and a good night's sleep; what more do we need? Oh yeah...breakfast!
This well-cared for B&B is just steps away from waterfront dining, shopping, and sightseeing, yet it feels like your quiet respite. Everything has been tended to with exquidetail, including the attractive grounds filled with colorful flowers.
Breakfast is a treat for people who want local foods prepared beautifully.
Proprietors Joan and John are knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful of guests needs. I would love to come back!

This Inn was originally built in 1876, so it fits in well with La Conner's other historic buildings. Since last year it is under new ownership (John and Joan) who are very welcoming - and terrific cooks. Their breakfast is a knock-out (fresh fruit, lemon scones, a cheese souffle with assorted vegetables and two sausages) and really is more than you should eat at a sitting (but of course you do finish it all).

There are four bedrooms of varying sizes to choose from and I'd recommend asking the owners which would best meet your needs.

It is the perfect place to explore the beautiful Skagit Valley.

I had a quick visit to La Conner on 4/6/2020 and needed to make last minute reservations for an overnight stay. I needed to stay somewhere within walking distance to the harbor because I was picking up a boat for delivery to Alaska and I did not have a car, The hosts at Katy's Inn were very flexible and accommodating regarding my schedule and travel needs (especially in light of the current health concerns re Covid 19) I wasnt able to get to the Inn until after 9:00 PM, but John stayed up, "left the lights on" and made me feel welcome when i finally arrived on his doorstep. The room was nice with a nautical theme and the bed was super comfortable. In the morning Joan was up early and made me a fantastic egg soufflé. The best part of the breakfast was the Scone. Generally I am not a big scone fan, but this was far and away the best scone i had ever eaten...they gave me an extra one to take to my buddy who had spent the night on the boat, but the first one was soo good i ate the second before i made it back to the boat. He asked me abpout the breakfast, but i just told him the hosts were super nice people, does this make me a Scone hoarder?

John and Joan are so nice and personable, you can tell they enjoy their interaction with their guests. They are lucky to have found each other and the niche that they have created for themselves and for anyone fortunate enough to have been a guest. If i ever make it back to La Conner, i will definitely be staying at Katy's Inn and if not overnighting i will probably just stop by to say hello and to see if they have a Scone or two available for a hungry traveler.

BTW, some common household items were hard to find in the grocery store at LaConner (because of all the shameful hoarding, Scone hoarding excluded). John and Katy made me a gift of an essential personal hygine item (i promissed not to mention which commodity, but you can guess). Their gift was much appreciated and put to good use during our return trip to Alaska.

If you visit La Conner, WA and need a welcoming and comfortable place to stay visit John and Joan at Katy's Inn, you wont be disappointed.

Located with a few minutes walk of the scenic waterfront and the downtown businesses, Katy's Inn is a home away from home. Our bed and room were quite comfortable, and the walkout balcony allowed us to enjoy a lovely afternoon enjoying the sun on the balcony's deck chairs. The hosts, John and Joan, were warm and welcoming, giving us the feeling that we were visiting old friends. The full two-course breakfast, which included local fruits and vegetables, provided a great start to the day. Coffee and tea and even homemade cookies are always available for early risers or for late arrivals. The hosts even provided swan napkin rings to commemorate our anniversary celebration.

John and Joan have not only created a beautiful environment, they are incredibly nice, warm & welcoming, and they are wonderful cooks and conversationalists! My parents and I were driving from Portland to Whistler and we chose to break the drive into 2 days and leave ourselves open to staying somewhere when we needed rest. We felt that we had made a great decision (finding a B&B over staying at a chain), the second we pulled into the gravel parking lot at Katy's Inn. We got a great night of sleep, and we took a beautiful walk along the water while Joan and John prepared a fabulous breakfast. It was all so sweet!

What a remarkable place. Everything comes together so well in this charming, nineteenth century sea captain's house. Well located for exploration in town and in the surrounding countryside, Katy's easily became home over the few days we stayed.

Fabulous time
Five friends made our trek to LaConner. We enjoyed our stay again at Katy’s Inn. This is our first time with John & Joan as proprietors.

The best parts were the location and the 2-full courses breakfast. They went above and beyond. The cookies were also amazing.

They do everything to make this beautiful large character home feel like your own.

The location is excellent…short walking distance to shops, restaurants, and water.

This inn is perfect in every way! Beautiful house and garden. Wonderful and delicious full breakfast. Spacious room that gave plenty of space to spread out for my husband, dog and myself. The hosts John and Jean are very gracious, and made our stay very enjoyable and comfortable.

When we arrived to the location, we were told to come back another 30 minutes because the house wasn't yet ready. When we headed back about an hour later, there was our paperwork pinned by the door and the door was unlock for us to go in..no one was in there to welcome us, our paperwork says the front door will stay unlock all day until 11pm...that right there was already a red flag...we had reserved the garden room which had 2 beds and one bath...the room did not have tv, etc..that was already dissatisfying walking in to the bedroom...after settling in with our stuff, we decided to go walk around and stroll to the gift shops, have dinner, etc..but as we have started to leave the room, the doors out to the patios did not have locks, there was no way for us to lock our bedroom door from outside. How are we supposed to feel comfortable leaving our personal items when the whole house is unlock, no one in the house to keep a look out...afte we got back from our dinner, we had decide to leave because we were not comfortable staying the night...I left a note for Katie to let her know we were not satisfied with the place... 2 days later, I got a call from Katie asking why we left..she was upset that we did not call her instead of leaving a note..I told her it was pretty late and was not comfortable calling her that late...she then got snippy and had an attitude as I was trying to explain as to why we were not satisfied with the place..she hung up on me after I asked her as to why she was giving me an attitude as a dissatisfied customer..she then called back to let me know she was still going to charge my credit card for the full amount. I don't mind paying for the full amount but after she mistreated me over the phone, of course I was upset..before she hung up, he then said, "you just missed out on a very good breakfast, and you will never be welcomed to stay at Katie's Inn again." After my family's experienced, we will never ever step a foot in that place nor ever want to speak to Katie again...she is vet unprofessional when dealing with a dissatisfied customer..will never refer anyone to that place.

In eleven years of owning Katy's Inn no one has ever "slept and skipped" out on us, until now. I received a note from this customer in the morning that La Conner was a boring town, and they were "bored" and had left. When I went to the room the beds had been slept in and the bathroom used and they were gone. I then called her that morning at 7:00 am and she told me that they stay up late and there was no TV and nothing to do, so they left about 10:00 pm. We have games, we have a DVD player, with 300 movies, a hot tub and a sitting area with a gas fireplace. Our rooms are always ready by 3:00 pm, so they arrived about noon. She spoke to our live-in caretaker and housekeeper, Molly. Her credit card had been declined. I asked for a new one, since our policy clearly states that she has to pay for the room, whether or not she was bored. This card was declined, as well. She has been sent to collections for payment. We sent away nearly 20 people who would have loved to stay with us that night. I certainly was not rude, I was shocked that this woman attacked the town I love. I did not hang up on her. La Conner is a lovely safe town. We have locks on all the doors and windows and you can lock yourself in your room. However the house is unlocked during the day. We have no crime in La Conner. NONE!!! I am blessed to live in a town where I can leave my doors unlocked and welcome visitors in from all over the world! I have forwarded her information to all the other Inns in town, so they will not be scammed by this customer in the future.
