What a lovely spot! Our room was lovely, the common areas were welcoming and breakfast was delicious! Our hosts welcomed us to their beautiful home and made our stay very comfortable. We’re looking forward to coming back!
What a remarkable place. Everything comes together so well in this charming, nineteenth century sea captain's house. Well located for exploration in town and in the surrounding countryside, Katy's easily became home over the few days we stayed.
Clean, located conveniently, charming, and a good night's sleep; what more do we need? Oh yeah...breakfast! This well-cared for B&B is just steps away from waterfront dining, shopping, and sightseeing, yet it feels like your quiet respite. Everything has been tended to with exquidetail, including the attractive grounds filled with colorful flowers. Breakfast is a treat for people who want local foods prepared beautifully. Proprietors Joan and John are knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful of guests needs. I would love to come back!
I had a quick visit to La Conner on 4/6/2020 and needed to make last minute reservations for an overnight stay. I needed to stay somewhere within walking distance to the harbor because I was picking up a boat for delivery to Alaska and I did not have a car, The hosts at Katy's Inn were very flexible and accommodating regarding my schedule and travel needs (especially in light of the current health concerns re Covid 19) I wasnt able to get to the Inn until after 9:00 PM, but John stayed up, "left the lights on" and made me feel welcome when i finally arrived on his doorstep. The room was nice with a nautical theme and the bed was super comfortable. In the morning Joan was up early and made me a fantastic egg soufflé. The best part of the breakfast was the Scone. Generally I am not a big scone fan, but this was far and away the best scone i had ever eaten...they gave me an extra one to take to my buddy who had spent the night on the boat, but the first one was soo good i ate the second before i made it back to the boat. He asked me abpout the breakfast, but i just told him the hosts were super nice people, does this make me a Scone hoarder? John and Joan are so nice and personable, you can tell they enjoy their interaction with their guests. They are lucky to have found each other and the niche that they have created for themselves and for anyone fortunate enough to have been a guest. If i ever make it back to La Conner, i will definitely be staying at Katy's Inn and if not overnighting i will probably just stop by to say hello and to see if they have a Scone or two available for a hungry traveler. BTW, some common household items were hard to find in the grocery store at LaConner (because of all the shameful hoarding, Scone hoarding excluded). John and Katy made me a gift of an essential personal hygine item (i promissed not to mention which commodity, but you can guess). Their gift was much appreciated and put to good use during our return trip to Alaska. If you visit La Conner, WA and need a welcoming and comfortable place to stay visit John and Joan at Katy's Inn, you wont be disappointed.…
John and Joan have not only created a beautiful environment, they are incredibly nice, warm & welcoming, and they are wonderful cooks and conversationalists! My parents and I were driving from Portland to Whistler and we chose to break the drive into 2 days and leave ourselves open to staying somewhere when we needed rest. We felt that we had made a great decision (finding a B&B over staying at a chain), the second we pulled into the gravel parking lot at Katy's Inn. We got a great night of sleep, and we took a beautiful walk along the water while Joan and John prepared a fabulous breakfast. It was all so sweet!
The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was amazing, hosts were delightful, location was perfect. I would highly recommend Katie’s Inn!! I have a gluten free, no dairy diet, and they not only willing accommodated my diet, they made some of the most delicious GF, no dairy breakfast items I have ever had.
This Inn was originally built in 1876, so it fits in well with La Conner's other historic buildings. Since last year it is under new ownership (John and Joan) who are very welcoming - and terrific cooks. Their breakfast is a knock-out (fresh fruit, lemon scones, a cheese souffle with assorted vegetables and two sausages) and really is more than you should eat at a sitting (but of course you do finish it all). There are four bedrooms of varying sizes to choose from and I'd recommend asking the owners which would best meet your needs. It is the perfect place to explore the beautiful Skagit Valley.
We live close enough to quaint LaConner for a day visit, but decided to get away from work for the weekend and chose Katy's Inn. It was exactly the restorative two days we needed, and all of our expectations were exceeded. The 110-year-old house has been lovingly maintained and/or refurbished, and is full of character with a mix of antiques and reproductions that recreate the post-Victorian era when it was built. Joan and John were perfect hosts, and their thoughtful touches were everywhere. Breakfast both days was delicious, and primarily composed of locally-sourced produce, meat and free-range eggs. Healthy never tasted so good! Our fellow guests were four generations of one family; the star was 2-year-old Monroe, who kept us all entertained with her perfect manners and adorable smile. LaConner is such a fun little town, with great shopping and a variety of art galleries and interesting places to eat. We decided it is lots better and a more relaxing outing to stay overnight, and we'll definitely return to Katy's Inn.…
We stayed here for three nights in September and loved this quaint B&B owned by the very friendly hosts, John and Joan. It was so relaxing after arriving from Seattle and is in a convenient location to visit many areas of interest, including the San Juan Islands, Deception Pass and other beautiful spots in Washington State. Breakfast each morning around the table with the other guests was a delicious creative meal prepared fresh by our hosts. We enjoyed sitting in the charming living room with fresh coffee and beautiful books before breakfast was served. The lawn and garden is beautifully maintained and although we did not have time, there is a beautiful covered sitting area with sofas and chairs outside. I highly recommend Katy's Inn if you are anywhere near this area as it is a nice way to enjoy quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of large hotels.…
We spent an extremely comfortable night at Katy’s Inn where the welcome from hosts, John and Joan, was wonderful and the breakfast superb. The inn is just lovely - it combines history and charm with the quality and services that modern travellers need - and is in a super location just a very short walk from the La Conner waterfront. We’d definitely stay again if in this beautiful part of the world. Thanks John and Joan!
