We were getting together with friends for dinner up on Chuckanut (about 25 min away) and didn't want to drive all the way back home afterwards so we booked a night at the Country Inn (which, with all our visits to La Conner, we've been curious about).

Probably the main reason we selected this property is that it was pet friendly. Other advantages include off-street parking in their own lot as well as just being off the main drag, therefore quieter. It's right next door to a restaurant/pub which doubles as their room service eating.

The continental breakfast consisted of pastries, cereal, toast, and hard-boiled eggs along with milk, jice, coffee, and tea. Better than what many hotels offer in this COVID era, probably sort of average in other times.

My mattress was probably a little harder (estimated "sleep number" of around 85) but the room's heating was in good shape for the cold weather outdoors.

Probably the only knock on the place would be the lack of better sound-proofing between our first floor room and the room above us. Fortunately whoever was upstairs went to bed early and wasn't throwing a party. When the next renovation occurs this should probably be considered as an opportunity for improvement.

From their website you get the image of a totally quaint country inn, on arrival you find it resembles the image but not totally. Located off Main Street a block from the water, it is tucked away on a side street in a quiet neighborhood. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable and quiet the night we stayed there. The view from our room was the back of a commercial building, I don't think any of the rooms had much view. Cookies, tea and coffee in the breakfast nook in afternoon, nice touch. Breakfast was reduced by covid to packaged pastries, cereal etc not appealing or tasty, surely they could do better than this? Other hotels we stay at in this same price range have much better breakfasts. The attached restaurant the Oyster and Thistle was excellent, recommend it for dinner. Get a reservation however.
Overall a decent nights stay but barely worth the room charge.

Very large rooms close to everything. Rooms are a bit dated and overdue for a renovation. Almost no power outlets in room which doesn't cut it for today's electronics. Bathroom fixtures are cheap but clean. Air conditioner was noisey. Fireplace was nice.

Breakfast is very minimal, but you can get a better breakfast just down the street

Very relaxing Inn with comfortable and spacious rooms. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. The Inn offers nice touches like home made granola at breakfast and cookies in the afternoon. Coffee and tea are available all day in the lobby. The location is walking distance to the harbor, shops and restaurants

If you want to sleep in, I would recommend asking for a room away fro. The lobby as the sound echos to the rooms above. Our room was right above the lobby and it was pretty loud at 7am when breakfast started.

Enjoyed overnighting in La Conner while touring the area.
Our room was very spacious, and king bed was quite comfortable. Appreciated the comfortable chairs to lounge and read. Portable AC unit kept the room comfortable while the afternoon sun was shining upon our room.
Looking forward to staying here again while in the area.

We had a great stay at this inn! The vibe was country inn/historic, and I found the rooms to be updated with newer furnishings and fixtures. We had an easy time with parking, and check in was a breeze. The family room had plenty of space - a king size bed with fireplace, table and chairs, and two comfy chairs, with a separate room with two twin beds. Both rooms had their own tv. There was a coffee maker a fridge, too. The sink was separate from the shower/bathroom and was roomy. The a/c unit was a standalone and cooled the room perfectly. Easy walk to the channel or any of the great restaurants in town. Coffee and breakfast available, too. Neat spot - easy to drive to Coupesville the next morning to catch the ferry!

Was charged a resort fee at checkout. Someone needs to tell this place that they are about as far from being a resort as a Ford is to being a Rolls Royce. Nothing about this place is a resort, in fact, it is closer to being a Super 8 Motel than a resort. My assumption is this is their way of squeezing more out of guests after they have already booked and checked in. The other issue we had was during our first night, we got a call at 7:30pm from the front desk asking our kids to stop playing because the grumpy complaining miserable people below us were taking naps. What the front desk should have told those people is this is a family hotel and that it was only 7:30. I would understand if it was past 9pm, but it wasn't. The hotel is also very dated. It is in need of a much needed face lift. The toilet felt like it was going to flood and over flow every time we flushed it. Stop charging a resort fee, you are not a resort. Get real! You are a small, dated, old inn. I DO NOT recommend this place for families. This is really only for older, retired couples.

We booked the La Conner Country Inn for the night of Dec. 18, 2022; my husband had a gig playing music nearby. The morning of our booking, there was a major snow event in the region, my husband's place of business there was closed, his gig cancelled. We live about 100 miles away. I called to see if we could get any of our $220+ fee back, and was denied any compensation, which is their policy after a 24 hour period. The loss of the fee was upsetting, but the curt, dismissive, response of the desk agent was completely without empathy or any aspect that would encourage us to book this hotel again. We stayed there twice previously, and were never met with such a lack of caring customer service.

I really think I stayed in a different place given the glowing reviews. The "only" positive is the location which is right in the heart of town and the room was clean but everything else was not good. I stayed in the deluxe king room with fireplace and it was a very tired room screaming to be remodeled. Very dark and depressing IMO. Another down side for me was both front desk attendants looked like they would rather be some place else which made for an experience that did not meet my expectations at all! Next time in La Conner I will definitely look elsewhere.

Unfriendly staff on phone and in person at check in and at check out. I specified in writing when I booked online and again at check in that I was a senior for the senior discount. At check out I was charged full price. Again I stated I was a senior but was told because I did not advise them before hand in writing or at check in that they could not give me the senior discount. We were a party of two and there was only one coffee packet in the room. There is no microwave. The room was uninviting and a wall was connected to the restaurant where we heard laughing and heavy socializing until after 11:30 pm despite as guests we were advised to be quiet after 10 pm. I do not recommend staying here. The Wild Iris is delightful but they had no availability. No comparison.
