La Conner's only waterfront hotel. The Channel Lodge boasts Northwest styling, water views, and has an ideal location for exploring, boutique shopping and locally sourced farm-to-table eateries. Be welcomed by our flagstone entryway, cedar-shake siding and gardens or bask in our lobby's lush furnishings aside our river-rock fireplace. Relax in our lobby or on our deck next to the fire pit overlooking the channel and enjoy the melodies from our beautiful baby grand piano on a Friday and Saturday evening. Complimentary breakfast served every morning in our breakfast area. Rooms include private balconies with water views, gas fireplaces, suites with jetted tubs, luxurious bathrobes and living areas.

Detailed Reviews
My partner and I just returned from a relaxing and wonderfully enjoyable stay at The LaConner Channel Lodge. The staff went out of their way to provide a safe and clean room that was well appointed with a small balcony off the waterfront room. They have a well organized and responsive plan for avoiding contact while providing much of what this lodge is known for; quality service in an attractive environment.
The town merchants are extremely well organized in their provision of healthy distancing in and in front of their establishments. After touring a few shops in masks and within capacity limits, we were able to pick up some delicious meals at our favorite restaurants while leaving indoor dining to those who cared to take a chance.
We truly enjoyed our sweet step back into lovely La Conner.

The hotel is cute and we enjoyed sitting on the deck drinking a cocktail after dinner while watching the water. The town of LaConner was fun to walk around and explore, and this hotel is in a great location to walk to everything. We were in Room 212, which is right across from the elevator and next to the breakfast room, so we were a little concerned about the noise from that. This is an older crowd and an older town where everyone seems to turn in around 8pm, so noise in that way wasn't an issue. However, every time the people above us got up to use the bathroom (at 12:10am, 1:30 am and 3:40am) we woke up from the loud footsteps and creaking overhead (and I am a heavy sleeper). Then at 4:30am, our neighbors got intimate, repeatedly, and that was the end of the good nights sleep. Neither of the issues was due to people being loud, just no sound insulation between the rooms. So while I like the town and the hotel, it's hard to pay $159 plus taxes totaling about $180 for a mediocre nights sleep, and I was grateful that we didn't book more than one night there.

We loved our visit at LaConner’s Channel Lodge. We read online various random critiques, none of which applied. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was bountiful, and the spa tub was plenty big.
By way of background: We originally intended to stay at the Wild Iris. I had called to ask them a question about their suites, and didn’t get a call back until four days later. By that time time, we had already booked at the Channel Lodge. Thankfully.
The woman I spoke to at Wild Iris said, “I only called to tell you that we are fully booked”. Okay. Thanks?
My significant other and I figured that if Wild Iris didn’t have time for a 30 second phone call, what would we expect if we wanted extra pillows. So glad it happened. It was a blessing. We felt very welcome at the Lodge and happy to give them our money ;-)
The Channel Lodge is taking extra precautions to keep guests safe during COVID. They also haven’t lost the ‘feel’ of a vacation in the process.
Everyone at Lodge is friendly, helpful, and attentive to the little details that matter. If you are looking for a getaway that feels like an upscale 2nd home (without elitist airs) - we highly recommend the Channel Lodge.
Will definitely go back again...

Terrible service! We booked a room with a private entrance billed as quaint (no view) that turned out to be
inn the hotel's parking lot separate from the main property with a garbage dumpster on one side and extremely close to the main road. Your private entrance is across from the electrical room for the hotel and once inside, you are greeted with a dank smell and a long staircase going up to an "after-thought over the garage" type ambiance and what must also be described as a shabby, no frills room, somehow apparently "quaint"? No water bottles or bathrobes (both advertised) and no shower, a big spa tub the only reward. We talked to the staff at check-in who told us "You pressed the button to book it" so apparently buyer beware. The hotel manager did not return emails or phone calls that day or during the week after and the assistance manager said maybe the check-in staff could have been nicer but what are you going to do, the hotel was fully booked. The property as a whole has a great water view and we thought this would be such a fun trip. Avoid Room 218 and the front desk personnel, (avoiding management is easy because they avoid you) keep your eyes fixed on the water, and you may have a better experience than we did. Terrible.

I decided to stay at this particular location because it was in the heart of La Conner, which is quite the charming small town. I booked a regular room with a queen bed with the water view. This room was so outdated that they handed me a janitors key to get in, and if I lose that key it was going to be a $50 penalty. Very small room, furniture was old and dusty and the queen size bed wasn’t a queen but rather smaller and uncomfortable. I felt like they left this lodge the way it was since the 1990’s, really need to consider putting more money into property upgrades. Tiny tv, couldn’t stay there without getting claustrophobic. To the owner, UPGRADES definitely a must at your lodge. Way overpriced, the equivalent of 2 nights at Swinomish (their rooms are way better and cleaner). So I won’t consider a second stay unless it gets the makeover it deserves.....

I stayed here for three nights in late March. The hotel is exactly what it should be. Its not trying to be an over the top luxury hotel which would be out of place in La Conner and it also isn't trying to be so rustic that it just feels run down. The rooms are well appointed with a queen bed, two large comfortable chairs and a coffee table, a gas fireplace, and a small desk. While a little on the small side they are plenty big enough for two people. Rooms with a water view also have a patio or balcony. The toilet/shower area of the bathroom is a little dated but is fine.
The TV was small, probably 24-28 inches. That's not a complaint as I don't watch much TV, but if you plan to spend much time watching TV you might be a little disappointed. If a water view is important then get a room on the second or third floor as views from the first floor are a little obscured by the landscaping. Once again, not a complaint just a fact.
The location is great and everything in town is a short walk away and you won't have to get in your car until you leave town. I would definitely stay here again if I were back in La Conner.

The front desk staff is friendly and welcoming, and the room clean. The balcony provided some peaceful relaxation time. But the rest of our stay was simply not worth the cost. We splurged on a corner king room with separate (although not divided) seating area and jacuzzi tub. We rarely splurge, but thought it would be worth it here. We were quickly proven wrong. When reserving the room, I specifically asked if shops, restaurants, and wineries would be open during our stay since small town businesses often have limited hours during the off season. I was assured businesses were open. Our plan was to wander around the shops, go to the wine tasting that is advertised as coming with a night’s stay, and bring a bottle back to the room to enjoy the jacuzzi and balcony. Unfortunately, fewer than half the shops were open, and the winery closed on Mondays. After dinner we were looking forward to the fresh baked cookies advertised at being at the front desk every evening, only to be told with a shrug that no one was available to make them that day. The “complimentary” water bottles are available at the front desk, and only two per stay. After reviewing our bill, it appears we were charged for the two we requested. If you stay here, bring your own water as the tap water tastes like chemicals and soap. The shower head is above the jacuzzi tub which made for an awkward shower. The floor of the jacuzzi has a steeper slope toward the drain and I almost lost my balance twice which showering. Fortunately, they provide a non-skid mat for use during showering. The layout of the room was awkward with some furniture blocking the balcony door. A few pieces of furniture have definitely seen better days. The balcony is tiny, which is not a problem for two people, although a surprise. The bedroom portion of the room has one tiny window with no view. Lighting in the room is dim, and the switches hard to find or understand. The walls and floors are definitely paper thin. We could hear the people above us talking, walking, and dropping things, as well as other “indoor sports.” When we asked to talk to a manager in the morning to explain our disappointment, we were given a lot of excuses with no apologies. A simple apology, or small refund would have gone a long way. If we hadn’t splurged, we wouldn’t have been so disappointed. The cost of the king is simply not worth it. Especially during such a slow time. Ironically, all the excuses had to do with the fact that it is the off season, so there are fewer guests. One would think they would be appreciative of the guests who are there rather than be dismissive of any concerns.

We always value our guests concerns and thank you for talking with us about your stay with us. Our management team member offered many apologies in conversation with you, as well as offered you a coupon to return at another time. Unfortunately, a Monday in January the local businesses can have variable hours. As a small town most of the shops are owner operated and choose to run the shops themselves during slower times and shut down a day or two to allow for a day off. We are always happy to assist you in looking up a specific locations hours, but in general we do not always have the updated changes of hours from the towns shops and restaurants as they can vary. The La Conner Chamber of Commerce is a great way to get updated information or directly on a specific locations website. As a small boutique hotel, we offer many complimentary amenities for our guests, such as two free waters, complimentary continental breakfast, fresh baked cookies, free newspapers, parking, free wifi, etc. Many hotels you have to pay for these extra amenities. We also have a great selection of wines in house. We are sorry that the available amenities and room appointments did not provide you with the satisfaction you were looking for. We have many room types that might have suited your comforts better. The room you were in, had a shower/tub combo. We do have many king suites with jacuzzi tubs and separate showers that have views throughout the room overlooking the water along with a balcony for two. Again, we are sorry that your experience at our lovely Lodge did not meet your needs. We hope that you will find what you are looking for in your future travels.

The Lodge Is the only accommodations on the channel with beautiful views. The front desk non-managers we’re friendly, helpful, and kind. Unfortunately we were in a 2nd floor waterfront view room which on our arrival evening had a shower with only hot hot water, ie unusable and then the toilet backed up so the nice front desk manager helped us change rooms about 10:30 PM. We were already tired and after moving rooms exhausted. In the morning we reported to the front desk manager what happened and expected some understanding that we had come for a 3 day rest not having to endure what happened. Instead of expressing understanding, she proceeded in a rude “auction “ like manner to say “I will give you $25 off and when we tried to explain our first night experience, she shouted “ok, $50.”

The Channel Lodge proved to be a perfect Christmas getaway location. My wife and I were visiting friends and family in nearby Bellingham/Burlington over the holidays and loved the convenience and proximity of La Conner. The town is very picturesque and the shops are lovely. The Channel Lodge is within walking distance of most (if not all) of La Conner's best attractions. I highly recommend selecting a room with a channel view for your stay. Waking up and stepping out onto the balcony to admire the view each morning was a real treat. The front desk staff was very accommodating as well and the hotel is well appointed with gas fire places in all the rooms. The holiday decorations in the lobby (along with the roaring fire) were beautiful. There was even a rare white Christmas while we were in town and that made our stay at the Channel Lodge even more memorable.

The staff is wonderful. The rooms are lovely as well, though in need of some repair. Electrical sockets are loose (we informed the front desk, and they said they knew about it and apologized, but offered no fix, so it must be a problem in all the rooms.) In my room, the sink was badly cracked, but didn't appear to be leaking, and the fridge wasn't cold, but I didn't really need it, so I let it go.
Housekeeping is currently at your request only. We asked for towels and trash service on day 3 and it was done with a smile.
Breakfast has a nice variety of fresh fruit, locally baked muffins, as well as staples like yogurt, cereal, and oatmeal.
Beds are very comfortable, and the fireplaces are such a nice touch.
Would definitely stay here again, however it
