In the heart of downtown Kirkland sits this gem of a hotel. The classic yet contemporary design throughout the hotel speaks to its modern elegance. Oil paintings and wood trim line the hallways with some eclectic collectibles here and there in the common areas. The Room The 2 Queen Classic room with balcony was larger than expected. It was a pleasant surprise to see the large soaking tub which I can fit in (being 6’3 that is rare). The beds are incredibly comfortable! The layout is nice with a separate sitting area. The art on the walls and the relaxing tones set the atmosphere well. Coffee, tea and a small fridge are available. The blackout curtains do not let an ounce of light through for all of you who like to sleep in. Very well appointed. Check in Check in was easy peasy and had small town vibes as the front desk clerk was also the valet. $25 valet fee for onsite parking. The Area There are plenary of great restaurants all around and we ate at Cactus, a southwestern Resturant which was tasty. The Kirkland waterfront with boardwalk is a couple blocks away from the hotel’s front door. It’s a nice place to take an evening stroll. Hearth Resturant Unfortunately the Resturant is closed on Monday and Tuesday so we were not able to eat here but the food is amazing. Overall this is a great hotel and I would stay again in a heartbeat. It made me want to stay in bed and order in!

My girlfriend and I wanted to spend a couples' weekend away, but within an hour's drive of home. We came across the Heathman Hotel website. The website and hotel pics don't do it justice. Parking: The hotel provides valet parking at $25 per day, otherwise there is (very scarce) street parking, most of which is limited to 2 hrs from 8am to 7:30pm, except Sundays & holidays. If you are fortunate enough to find street parking after 5:30pm on Saturday and don't need to move your car until 10am Monday morning, I recommend that you don't. Street parking is really difficult to find, so if you move your car, don't expect to easily find another spot. Entrance & Lobby: Very inviting, clean, and well maintained. A lot of comfortable seating too. Check-in: Was simple and quick. Everyone we encountered throughout our stay was incredibly polite and helpful. We requested extra towels, a (courtesy) robe, and extra coffee. All was brought to our room within a few minutes. Elevator: Yes. Our room: Classic King on the alley (north) side of the building. Bed was comfortable enough. There was an extra blanket and pillow in the closet. Noise: The hotel itself is pretty quiet, but Monday is obviously trash day. There is also a King County Metro transit center around the corner, so buses could be heard. Not super loud, but if you're a light sleeper, you may want to ask for a room facing the street (Kirkland Ave). Room temp: Heat & AC worked well. Our room had a faux balcony. The balcony door is actually a window that is connected to the room's HVAC system. If the window is opened, the HVAC shuts off. Bathroom: No tub in our room, but it had a LARGE shower. Toilet, sink, and shower are all in the same room. Bathroom is pretty roomy. Water pressure in the shower and sink was really good. Refrigerator: Our room came with one. Very small, but worked well. No freezer in it though. Microwave: None, but they are available on request. Coffee & tea: An electric kettle is provided, along with a French coffee press, coffee, tea, sweetener, and glass mugs. The coffee was pretty good. At least us two coffee snobs thought so. There are also wine & regular glasses in the room. Ice is available upon request. On site food: There is an on site restaurant (The Hearth) that also provides room service until 8pm. We didn't eat there, but they were quite busy, even during covid. Due to covid, indoor dining was largely prohibited. The Hearth's outside seating was heated, covered, and busy. Area dining: There is American, pizza, Italian, sushi, Thai, Mexican, espresso, wine, and more within a 2 block walk. Starbucks is a block away. There is also a fairly new QFC grocery store about 2 blocks away. They have a deli, wine & alcohol, and pretty much any snack foods. George's Restaurant is on the next block (toward the lake). We ate there for lunch, and again for breakfast. Both meals were really good, and portion sizes were plentiful. Wait staff was awesome. Grub Hub & Uber Eats: Both are available. In looking at websites for nearby (2-3 block distance) restaurants, some imply they will deliver so you don't have to rely on either of these 2 food delivery services. But double check. Area activities: Lake Washington is a 2 block walk. There is a nice and clean waterfront park with plenty of room to walk. There were a lot of other walkers / joggers and families, so it felt very safe. You can also walk along Lake St. for a much longer walk. It is lined with businesses and upscale condominiums / apartments, making for a pleasant walk. Other area activities: There are too many to list. Keep covid restrictions in mind. But as people who live about 30 minutes from Kirkland, we can tell you that there's no shortage of things to do, especially outdoors. Nearby shopping: We didn't do any, but saw a number of nice boutique shops. Kirkland and neighboring Redmond and Bellevue have most major chain stores. Transportation: As I mentioned, there's a King County Metro transit center nearby. I assume a person can bus to most anywhere in the greater Puget Sound area from this transit center. Pool / Gym: We didn't see a pool. Presumably there isn't one. The gym was closed due to covid. Personal safety: We felt incredibly safe walking around. My girlfriend went for a solo late evening walk to the lake. She said she felt very safe and comfortable. Bicycling: Kirkland and Redmond cater to bicyclists. Some of the main roads have a dedicated bike lane. Emergency services: Kirkland has a full service hospital (Overlake Hospital).

Room Tip: A street side (Kirkland Ave) room may be quieter. Less likely to hear transit buses.

Having recently arrived from overseas this is our first visit to this beautiful part of the world ! The Heathman Hotel Kirkland is the perfect place to stay whilst we search for our new home in the Kirkland/Bellevue area. Rooms and suite very well appointed with views of the lake. Immaculately serviced room and immaculately cleaned and COVID safe. Every staff member we have encountered so far is friendly, personable and eager to please. Mike Hill the General Manager has been very accommodating and has made sure our “home away from home” is everything we need. We will definitely recommend this delightful hotel within walking distance of beaches, Lake Washington and Kirkland to all our friends! Thank you Heathman staff ! Keep up the great work !

Lovely staff, fabulous beds and linens, beautiful room. Location is perfect to explore Kirkland. We'd definitely return if we are in Kirkland again. The staff were friendly and had wonderful recommendations for restaurants and walks - told us about the fireworks that would be going off around the lake that night. We loved our stay there.
