Don't judge a book by its cover is an understatement with this motel. The owners of the establishment were extremely friendly and welcoming up check in. If you have the chance to the select a room with a balcony and river view, the extra price is more than worth. We had the chance to do so and were stunned when we went to our room. Relaxing on the deck while eating dinner and enjoying a drink was so very worth. We will look to stay here again if given then chance in the future.
Our room was clean and pleasant. The view down the Pend Oreilles River (from right outside each room) is really nice. It's a short walk into town if you're so inclined. Guests have access to a shaded patio with barbecue, and a dock on the river with kayaks and bicycles available at no charge. (We enjoyed a kayak paddle.) The owners were friendly and helpful with information. The area is not excessively "touristy". It provides a nice opportunity for experiencing nature, outdoor adventure and recreation on the water, with points of historical interest. We hiked and drove up the river valley, barely scratching the surface during our 3 days. Local dining opportunities may be basic but the people providing them were friendly and accommodating.
Beautiful location and the friendliest staff and owners! Rooms are so cozy and super clean. Gorgeous setting and amazing amenities! They offer kayaks and snacks all complementary. Impossible to beat for the price!
Wow!!! We went for a girls trip to celebrate my birthday. We loved the cleanliness of our rooms. The rooms were larger than most and beautifully decorated. The walkway down to the river gave us gorgeous views of the river! Nice and friendly owners. They went above and beyond to accommodate our room switch! I'm looking forward to taking my husband there. There is so much to see in the surrounding area!
Ione is in a beautiful place with few tourist facilities. The owners of the Riverview Motel have done their best to make guests comfortable in the best hotel in town. The beds are soft and heavenly, with luxurious, thick sheets, and it is so quiet there, off the main road. Ask for a river-view room. A simple, nice breakfast is provided, and there are BBQ facilities and a spacious lounging area overlooking the river. There is a grocery store within walking distance, and the rooms have coffee makers, and small fridge/freezer. WiFi is not like in the big city, but it’s a reason to get out and enjoy nature in that area.
I decided I was tired of staying home, worrying if/when I caught the coronavirus and worrying about what the economy (and my job) would be like after this pandemic has left us. So I decided to not follow our governors stay at home order and come here for a mental health roadtrip. The NE part of Washington is a remote area so it's easy to social distance there. The Riverview Motel was the only motel in the central part of Pend Oreille county taking guests. Upon arrival, the clerk said I would be the only one there until the weekend. I had room 206 on the top floor with a balcony/lanai overlooking the Pend Oreille river. It was a beautiful location. The room was large, had a microwave and refrigerator (important because I brought my own food) The bed was very comfortable, not too hard and not too soft. The bathroom sink has a lot of counterspace. There is an electric faux fireplace that provided heat. The balcony has great views of the mountains, the river and the town of Ione. There was ample parking and a laundry room if needed. There is some breakfasts and coffee in the motel office but I did not take advantage of that. Its a nice walk from the motel into the town. The town appears to have seen better days. This motel, the large marijuana shop, the grocery store (open until 10pm) and the gas station/convenience store seems to be only thriving businesses in town. I was able to reach the far north, far south, across the river and the highway 20 with ease from this motel and Ione. I feel a lot better because I took this roadtrip and staying at this motel helped. I would stay here again.…
RIVERVIEW motel really stands out from any motels I was staying in recent years. Way too many of the motels I was staying care only of taking money and do as little or literally nothing to improve the facility they are providing. Decades of not painting, decades of not a single repair or refreshing of the rooms. Old stinky carpets, old paint, etc. RIVERVIEW was a pleasant surprise for me - you can tell that the owners truly care about the business, and taking pride in what they are doing. Every detail is taken into account. The room is clean, really clean! ( not just wiped quickly with a dirty mop- but really clean!). Most often, after moving into the motel room I wipe everything and clean before I start using the room. The room in the Riverview motel was perfect. Colors and decor are matching and pleasant to look at. The bedding is of good quality cotton and nice cream color – I slept comfortably on the bedding provided without using my own bedding ( as I do often in other places). The bathroom curtain is fabric curtain – adds colors to the eyes and also way better to use, compared to the sticky bulky plastic curtains. 10 starts for the information collected in three binders folders - local history, local attractions. Reading about the history of the area was very educational and interesting. Special "thanks" Marion for gathering all the information and making those binder folders! Small details – as an electrical outlet with USB port plug-in, a pen ( in case you forgot one) – shows that the owners put love in the business. Small refrigerator, microwave, heater/AC – all in good working order and CLEAN(!) Nice additional to the Motel – they have a laundromat. It was nice to be able to do laundry before a departure. The last thing – it's a very nice location, with access to the water. The area around the motel is also clean and well kept. It would be nice to have lace curtains under the regular curtains - to be able to open the regular curtains and get light into the room without losing privacy. But this is maybe too much to ask... Overall – it was a pleasant and comfortable stay in the Riverview Motel.…
i had a 2 week stay at Riverview last month. I had to do some work at Boundary Dam and it was the closest place I could find lodging available. The lady owner was extremely helpful. She called me back twice telling me there were days available whereas I would have had to move to Colville. The rooms ware cozy, clean, and the balcony room I stayed in had a fabulous view of the lake in the evening. If I would have to go back, I would take the 20-30 minutes drive just to repeat the experience.
While on a tour of eastern BC and Washington, Ione was chosen as a rest stop. We had little information about the town, but did find the Riverview via the NET. Well..... that was a lucky find..... this is a super little motel. The property has a very nice feel as you drive up! The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and spacious, the Patio overlooking the river is great, day or night, sitting on the dock is awesome, and the owners are splendid people. If you are in the area, this is a winner of a place to stay, you won't be disappointed!
It's hard to pick the best part of our stay here. If I had to it would have to be that the owners really cared about making sure everyone enjoyed their stay. They spend a lot of time with us recommending things to do and places to see nearby. They loaned us binoculars and bird books. There were kayaks available so we took a paddle on the river. They provided a beautiful and well stocked BBQ area that overlooked the river. They also provided breakfast items since there was no breakfast cafe in town. The location couldn't be better. On a small bluff overlooking the Pend Oreille river. It was a short walk down to the pier for kayaking, swimming or fishing. The views from the motel were outstanding. The rooms were very clean, modern and spacious. It felt like they were recently renovated. The rooms were also very quiet. An all-around nice place. I would definitely go back.…
